A thick soaker hose that seeps evenly instead of spraying
The ground is still frozen where I live, so garden season hasn’t started yet, but I still wanted to see how this soaker hose behaved before laying it through my flower beds in the spring. I connected it to the water faucet in my garage and ran a quick test to check the water flow.

Once the water started moving through the hose, I could see moisture slowly forming along the rubber surface. Instead of spraying out like a normal garden hose, the water seeps through the material in small droplets along the entire length. The seepage stayed slow and even without any noticeable spraying, which suggests it works well at normal household water pressure. That slow soaking is exactly what I want around the base of flowers where steady watering works better than blasting the soil with a sprayer.

The hose has a thick rubber feel and a bit of weight when I uncoiled it across the garage floor. The diameter is similar to a standard garden hose, which helps it lay flat once uncoiled. It stayed laid out without twisting around too much, which should make it easier to run along a garden row once the soil warms up.

The 25-foot length should work well for one of the longer flower beds along my yard. I can run it along the base of several plants at once instead of moving a regular hose back and forth the whole time.

A few things I noticed while testing it:

    * The rubber hose has a textured surface and a good thickness

    * Water slowly seeps along the full length instead of spraying from holes

    * The hose attached easily to my water faucet with no leaks

    * The threaded connectors are plastic instead of metal

The plastic fittings work fine so far, though I avoid tightening them too aggressively since they are not brass connectors. Even with this quick winter test in the garage, the water seeped evenly along the hose and the flow stayed consistent from one end to the other.

RainPoint is Becoming My Favourite Outdoor Watering Company!
This Rainpoint soaker hose is an interesting product. And I think I like it! A LOT!

At 5/8″ OD (Outside Diameter), the hose is a bit smaller than most garden hoses. With the ID (Inside Diameter) still at a 1/2″, it means the hose thickness is quite thin. And that makes sense to me. As the style of this hose is a “soaker hose”, it would be much easier for the water to just “oozes” out of a thinner wall, than a thick one. It’s not like the soaker hoses I remember as a kid, that lay flat and had dozens and dozens and dozens of small cuts in the plastic, where the water shot up.

By having the water seep out so gently, you will not waste water to evaporation as you would if you were top watering. In fact, what I intend to try this spring, is to lightly bury the hose just a few inches from my tomato plants – in the middle of two rows. If it works the way I think it will, I will get maximum water into my plants, without having to water the entire top of the garden. The roots will find the water already in the immediate area.

The material of the actual hose, appears to be a combination of rubber and plastic. It will need a few hours in warm sunlight, in order for it to lay flat. At present, it is quite happy to remain coiled up like a snake! If you pinch the hose tight with your thumb and finger, the depression will spring back, but not immediately.

I like the ends of the hose. Both are clamped tightly closed with a stainless steel fitting. The male end is fixed and will not turn. The female end can spin freely, and comes with an end cap to stop the water. If you need a longer length, it can be added to the female end. Smart idea! Note however, both ends are just plastic. You won’t want to accidentally step on them!

I believe this style of soaker hose is going to be much better than those common, “spray fine mist into the air” kinds. Further, I believe it will be excellent just under the soil, or perhaps snaked through existing plants. My garden runs will be straight – the 25 feet is perfect for a single, straight run. Making tight turns, I’m not so sure of. It will remain to see just how tight a turn in the hose can be, once the weather warms and some sun can be applied to the hose.

(Photo shows both plastic end cap on the female connector, plus the stainless steel crimp at the end.)

Bottom Line – A new, different style of soaker hose. Great for putting just under the surface, although the manual (yes, Rainpoint has included a manual!) suggests up to 20cm. (About 8″) Add to this a FIVE YEAR WARRANTY, you have a solid, dependable product that should last for years!

I’ve been using the traditional black rubber soaker hoses for years and finally got tired of them either clogging up or shooting water sideways instead of down where it’s supposed to go. This flat design actually works the way a soaker hose should — water seeps through the fabric evenly instead of creating random geysers that water the air more than the plants.

The 25-foot length is perfect for my vegetable beds. I can snake it between the tomato rows and around the peppers without fighting it. Stays flat when you want it to, doesn’t coil back up on itself like those expandable hoses that have a mind of their own. The aluminum connectors feel solid — I’ve had cheap plastic ones crack after one season in the sun, so these should hold up better.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersTime save
I ordered the RAINPOINT 10ft flat soaker hose. I was expecting water to seep out the entire hose. There are 2 holes every foot. One on the top and one on the underside of the hose. When I turned my water on, the hose expanded into a regular tubular looking hose.

I didn’t turn the water on all the way because with it being a fabric hose with an expandable inner hose, I didn’t want it to explode. After leaving the hose on for a minute, I can see that water will run along the fabric and soak the ground that way. Or if it’s completely flat ground, it will mainly soak every foot until the water fully saturates from hole to hole distance.

One side is capped to allow you to add on if you needed more feet than you originally thought.

I will put a quick-connect end on this and one on the end of my hose so I don’t have to waste time threading and unthreading. This soaker will be the ultimate time saver on those hot summer days! I recommend.

Golden Review Award: 1 From Our UsersA compact, flexible flat soaker hose that delivers even, efficient watering for small garde
This 10foot RAINPOINT flat soaker hose is a great size for targeted irrigation. The flat profile makes it easy to position along rows, curve around plants, or tuck under mulch. Once the water is turned on, the hose expands slightly and releases a slow, consistent seep along its length—ideal for deep root watering without runoff.

The bright orange color is easy to spot among plants, which helps during layout or seasonal cleanup. The hose remains flexible, even when the weather changes, and it rolls up neatly for storage. The fittings thread smoothly and create a tight seal with no leaking at the connection point.

This shorter length is especially useful for raised beds, foundation plantings, small vegetable patches, or container groupings where a fulllength soaker hose would be excessive. It provides controlled watering while helping reduce evaporation and overspray.

Even water distribution, gentle seepage, and reliable flow for smallarea irrigation.

    Durability

Flexible flat design with sturdy connectors that hold up well during regular garden use.

Efficient Soaker Hose That Makes Garden Watering Easy
This flat soaker hose is an excellent solution for keeping garden beds consistently watered while using much less water than traditional sprinklers. The slow, even seepage delivers moisture directly to the roots, helping reduce evaporation and runoff.

The flat design is easy to position around vegetables, flowers, shrubs, or raised beds and stays in place well after installation. It rolls up neatly for storage and doesn’t take up much space when not in use.

The aluminum fittings feel sturdy and thread smoothly onto standard garden hose connections without leaking. The hose itself appears well constructed with a durable outer sleeve that protects the inner tubing while remaining flexible enough to maneuver around plants.

Water distribution is impressively even along the length of the hose when operated within the recommended pressure range, making it easy to maintain consistent soil moisture across an entire planting area.

Installation is straightforward, and multiple hoses can be connected together for larger gardens if needed. It’s also lightweight enough to move and reposition as planting layouts change throughout the season.

Overall, this soaker hose is a practical and water-efficient upgrade for anyone looking to simplify irrigation while promoting healthier plants.

    Nice soaker hose alternative
This is a really nice alternative to the common sintered black rubber types of soaker hoses. Those don’t seem to last very long before they start to crack and become useless.

This is more of an update to a throwback design popular decades ago, which were PVC vinyl hoses with lots of tiny perforations in them to act as a soaker hose. This is a fabric hose that folds away compactly when not needed, which is really convenient.

It’s being used to soak in some recent plantings while still abiding by the local watering restrictions. Because using a soaker hose allows the water to go directly into the target plants, it is not wasteful, and little to nothing is lost due to evaporation like with a traditional sprinkler shooting water in the air.

The hose does hide well in the grass, the black and green stripes do kind of disappear. That’s really good if you don’t want to see it. It’s not so good if you’re trying to find it and you’ve left it lying around without the feeding hose attached.

We could definitely use a second one to couple in series with this one because it’s not quite big enough to cover the plants, so now it’s being rotated. In use over the past couple of weeks, it’s been reliable and there are no complaints. The price was $14.99 at the time of ordering. Somehow, the product is currently listed at 10% off, yielding a $17.99 price. That starts to feel like less of a good deal, to be honest. But the hose itself is solid, and would be a good one to consider on promo.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersGlad to have this item
I bought this soaker hose after reaching the annual stage of gardening where I become emotionally invested in my plants while simultaneously forgetting to water them consistently. Apparently tomatoes prefer “regular hydration” and not “survival reality show conditions.”

This hose has honestly made life so much easier.

First off, the flat design is fantastic. It stores neatly, doesn’t fight me like an angry garden snake, and unrolls without turning into a tangled knot fueled by spite. It’s flexible without feeling flimsy, and the heavy-duty material actually feels durable enough to survive real outdoor use instead of one mildly aggressive summer.

The water distribution is nice and even too. Instead of blasting one plant into another dimension while leaving the rest thirsty, it gives a slow, steady soak right where it’s needed. My garden beds, flowers, and vegetables all seem much happier now, which is great because I was starting to take their decline personally.

I also appreciate the water-saving aspect. Between gardening, kids, cooking, and trying to maintain a yard that doesn’t look abandoned by civilization, efficiency matters. This lets me water deeply without wasting a ton of water or standing outside holding a spray nozzle like I’m defending a castle.

The anodized aluminum fittings are a surprisingly nice touch too. They feel sturdy and secure, not like those cheap connectors that start leaking immediately and spray your shins for absolutely no reason. Setup was quick, and I haven’t had issues with leaks or weak spots.

And aesthetically? It actually blends into the garden nicely instead of screaming “industrial plumbing accident.” Small detail, but appreciated.

Overall, this hose made me feel briefly capable and responsible — like one of those people who casually grows thriving vegetables and remembers where they put their gardening gloves. The plants are healthier, the watering process is easier, and my garden finally looks less “post-apocalyptic backyard experiment” and more intentionally cared for.

Highly recommend for gardeners, busy families, beginner plant parents, or anyone tired of manually watering everything while slowly roasting in the sun.

Much better than the black rubber soaker hose as the water drips down from the bottom of the hose instead of spraying to the sides and upwards. It’s very flexible so I can put it right where it’s needed and it stores neatly

Golden Review Award: 1 From Our UsersThe best soaker hose I've ever purchased
I like the RAINPOINT 25FT Flat Soaker Hose because it is practical, sturdy, and easy to use in a small garden bed. The flat design makes it simple to place, and the slow drip watering helps get moisture right to the roots without waste or danger of fungus. The anodized aluminum fittings feel like a real upgrade over plastic connectors. The flat design makes it easy to place. The thickened rubber inner tube with a high-density fabric outer layer improves durability and reduce leaks. I loved the instructions, which used “please” at the beginning of every paragraph. I learned plenty about the design. I idn’t know about the six-hole pressure relief gasket. This changes the pressure from 40-60 psi to about 15 psi, which is right for a soaker hose.
