Handy little hose that looks ready for a good seasons work
I haven’t had the chance to put this RAINPOINT soaker hose to use yet — there’s still snow on the ground up here — but I did unbox it to get a feel for the quality. First impressions are good. The hose itself has a nice weight to it and feels flexible without being flimsy. It doesn’t kink easily, and the texture suggests it’ll let water seep out evenly once the weather warms up and it’s laid through the garden beds.

The fittings are plastic, which gave me pause at first, but they seem sturdy enough for light to medium duty use. The threads are clean and fit snugly onto a standard garden spigot when I tested it in the basement sink. I appreciate that both ends have connectors, so sections can be linked together for larger areas — that’s handy planning on RAINPOINT’s part.

At 25 feet, this hose looks just right for a smaller veggie patch or flower bed, without having to wrestle with extra length. If it holds up through a full summer, I could see getting a couple more to connect across different sections of the yard. All told, it seems like a practical, well-thought-out piece of gear at a fair price. I’m optimistic this one will make watering a simpler job once the thaw sets in.

Good value, works well, easy to set up
My garden is already appreciating this soaker hose! At 25′ and a reasonable price, it is good value, especially given that it includes an array of accessories including: an end cap, three different flow restrictors to control flow, male and female connectors, teflon tape and washers. The Rainpoint soaker hose comes with easily understood instructions and helpful tips. It’s important to know that you can connect Rainpoint soaker hoses together to service a larger area (the suggested maximum is 4 to 5 hoses). Water seeps from the hoses material rather than being sprayed out. My only issue is that I wish the fittings were brass instead of plastic (otherwise I would have given this Rainpoint five stars).

Golden Review Award: 1 From Our UsersWorking great with many connected to a timer.
so far so good – i’ve got a bunch of them laid out to water a stretch of newly planted grass from this spring – using so much hose i had to put in a splitter on the timer in order to get the best flow – i’ve got over 300′ of hose going. I used the pipe tape and pulled out the reducters from each hose and they all work without leaking at the connections just fine. I was surprised I couldn’t find similar soaker hose locally but at least these came quickly each time I ordered. Once I dont need them on this particular grass area they’ll go to the next one and the 75′ ers will go in my slope garden which is permanent. I like how they’re flat when empty which will make storage so much easier over winter.

Golden Review Award: 1 From Our UsersSolid soaker hoses, better than the standard porous rubbe
These are pretty nice, the construction is solid overall and the ends are metal, not plastic. They distribute waterr pretty well so far, no issues at all. I liked the kit so much I bought a 2nd one and am using 3 of the 15′ sections right now for foundation watering. It’s quite a pain digging up the old rubber soaker hoses and burying new ones, so at least for this section of the house I’m going to try laying these over the top for this season and see how they do. So far they look and work great, and I like that if a section springs a leak I can just swap out a section to replace it instead of a long, buried line. Will update if I have any issues. but very good quality and function so far!

Golden Review Award: 1 From Our UsersVery pleased.
Well made. Appears likely it will last a long time. I am using it to irrigate a line of hydrangeas on the side of my house. I have it running up the front on the line . Then making a U-turn and running down the back. Once set up requires no maintenance. It is quiet. No leaks, unobtrusive. The sheath is green and appears good quality.

Golden Review Award: 1 From Our UsersWorks well
Easy to use and water gets all the way to the end. The connectors at either end are sturdy and functional. It’s 4 stars because the instructions say not to bury it, and I wanted to put an inch or so of earth on it to disguise it. Turns out that sprinkling some on it here and there disguises it well enough without affecting function.

    Functional but questionable durability
This 25-foot soaker hose has some solid advantages, but also a few limitations worth noting.

First, the length is excellent. Twenty-five feet gives you enough coverage for a decent-sized garden bed, perimeter planting area, or a row of shrubs without constantly needing extensions. For small to medium landscaping zones, this is a very practical size.

The material feels like a harder rubber rather than the more flexible, spongy style that some soaker hoses use. That firmness can be a downside. It is not especially malleable, so shaping it tightly around corners or weaving it precisely between plants takes a bit more effort. It feels like a single-ply construction with a textured exterior surface, but without an additional reinforced outer sheath. While the textured coating provides some surface protection, it does not feel heavily layered or multi-ply.

The fittings are plastic, which is another compromise. Plastic connections are lightweight and functional, but they are not as durable as brass fittings. Over time, repeated connecting and disconnecting, or exposure to sun and temperature changes, may weaken them. If you are looking for something extremely long-lasting or heavy-duty, this may not be the top-tier option.

UV durability is a consideration as well. Since it appears to be single-layer rubber without a heavy protective jacket, prolonged direct sunlight may cause it to degrade over time. If it is placed under mulch, soil, or dense foliage where it is shielded from constant UV exposure, it will likely perform better and last longer.

One positive is that it includes accessories for connecting to additional hoses, which adds flexibility for expanding your watering layout. That is a helpful addition and makes setup easier.

Packaging is another minor drawback. The hose arrives tightly coiled, and some areas may feel slightly crimped at first. It may take a bit of time laid out in the sun to relax fully and straighten properly.

Overall, this is a decent mid-range soaker hose with a good working length and useful accessories. It may not be the most rugged or long-term heavy-duty option available, but for garden beds that are somewhat protected and not exposed to extreme UV stress, it should perform adequately.

This is exactly what I was looking for in my gardens!
This is the normal soaker hose that I grew up seeing my grand parents use in their gardens.

This type of hose is the drip irrigation rather than the sprinkler style soaker.

I should have asked my grandparents how they got this hose to soak their garden because I feel like I would go through a lot of my water using the drip technique.

I’m going to assume that you would use this type of hose to keep an already moist garden from drying out at root level.

I believe my grandparents had their buried down by the roots and not sitting on top to evaporate faster than it flowed out.

I attached a video and photos showing the hose in action. It does put out a good amount of water and I believe this style hose works better than the sprinkler style just because you can put this style underground and the sprinkler style ones I don’t believe you can.

Good starter soaker hose kit with useful accessories
I got this Rainpoint soaker hose to simplify watering my garden beds. It comes as a kit with mutiple connectors, extra washers, teflon tape and different flow-restrictor gaskets. This is a big plus so I can tweak how much water flows depending on what I’m watering.

It comes with an instruction sheet and set up was pretty easy and it uses the standard 3/4″ threads so compatibility with my outdoor tap shouldn’t be an issue. The included teflon tape and extra washers would come in handy to prevent leaks.

The hose itself feels durable enough and it has a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty which is great because soaker hoses don’t seem to last more than 3 seasons for me. Although the clamps at the ends are made of stainless stee, the connectors are plastic, so I am not sure how long this will last. They should work fine but I feel brass connectors are best for long-term durability. The hose is made of rubber and plastic with textured surface.

They are stiff so keep in mind to soften it by warming it under the sun before uncoiling to soften it and make it more flexible. It is also best not to expose it to direct sunlight so I usually have mine covered with mulch and it helps extend its life.

Overall, this is a practical soaker hose kit that’s about mid-range both in price and quality.
