Great value tent that is easy to set up and surprisingly spacious
I took this tent on short weekend trip, and I have to say I am really impressed. This Night Cat backpacking tent is a great option if you want something simple, reliable, and easy to use & affordable.
Setup is very quick and beginner friendly. The poles are already attached, so you just lay it out, connect the joints, and it is basically ready to go. The first time took me a few minutes, and after that it was even faster. This makes a big difference when you are setting up camp after a long day.
The interior space is better than expected for a two person tent. There is enough room for two people and some gear without feeling cramped, and the height makes it easier to sit up and move around comfortably. I am around average height and had no issues changing clothes inside.
Ventilation is one of the best features. The mesh door and side windows allow a lot of airflow, which is great for warmer weather. It stays cool and comfortable at night, and the bug mesh works well to keep insects out. When everything is closed up, it also blocks out a good amount of light, which I appreciated for sleeping.
The tent held up well in light rain and wind. The materials feel durable, and the floor stayed dry. It definitely gives you confidence for typical camping conditions. That said, the rainfly is a bit minimal and mainly covers the top, so in heavier wind driven rain you might get some moisture coming in from the sides.
It is lightweight enough to carry and packs down fairly compact, though not ultra small because of the attached pole design. I would say it is more of a casual backpacking or car camping tent rather than something for extreme ultralight hiking.
Overall, this is a great value tent. It is easy to use, comfortable, and reliable for weekend trips, festivals, or beginner campers. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a solid entry level tent that gets the job done well.
This is a great lightweight tent that is very easy to set up.
I was on the hunt for a new tent for summer camping, and I knew exactly what I was looking for: something lightweight, compact, and easy to handle. When I discovered that this tent was offered in both 1- and 2-person options, I felt compelled to give it a try. I opted for the 1-man tent, though I quickly realised that it could easily accommodate two people if necessary.
One of the features that drew me in was its colour. I’m a fan of nature, and the tent’s green hue blends perfectly with the grass and trees around campsites, enhancing the outdoor experience rather than standing out like a sore thumb.
Weighing just 2.26 kg, this tent is incredibly lightweight, making it easy to carry on long hikes. It comes with a carrying bag measuring 15 cm in diameter and 43 cm in length, which fits neatly into my backpack without taking up much space. It can also clip on the backpack, taking up no space in my bag.
Setting up the tent was a breeze, thanks to the clear instruction leaflet that came with it. I laid the tent fabric flat on the ground and threaded two flexible poles diagonally through corresponding sleeves—it felt almost intuitive! Within about five minutes, the tent was fully erected. After raising it, I secured it in place with the provided strings and tent pegs, ensuring it was stable against the elements.
Once set up, I was impressed by the dimensions of the finished tent: 110 cm high, 210 cm long, and 120 cm wide. This gives it a roomy interior, allowing me to sit up comfortably and store my gear without feeling cramped.
In terms of quality, the tent feels reasonably durable and is fully waterproof, which is essential for unpredictable weather during outdoor excursions. It’s well-suited for various activities, including camping, hiking, and even festivals. I appreciated the thoughtful design elements, such as the two windows, both outfitted with mesh screens to keep pesky mosquitoes and flies at bay. The door also has a netted panel that provides ventilation while maintaining bug protection.
Overall, I’m quite pleased with this tent. It boasts a nice aesthetic, is quick to set up, ultra-portable, and perfect for my many camping adventures ahead. It seems like a fantastic purchase that will serve me well during my summer outings!
A Very Impressive Compact & Lightweight Tent - Perfect For Backpacking & Festivals!
I must admit that I’m Very Impressed by this “Night Cat” Manufactured Tent, which is Perfect for Backpacking & Festivals, due to its Compact and Lightweight Design! They Class it as 1 to 2 Person Capacity, but I think it’s actually Spacious enough for 2 Adults to Comfortably Sleep-In, without any issues? It is Quick to Assemble/Disassemble in under 10 Minutes and due to the Size & Weight (just 2.26kg), is Easy to Transport. I also Like the Waterproof Capabilities of the Durable Outer Fabric, which is Rated at 3,000mm, so more than enough for our Wet UK Weather. Cost wise, I really don’t think you can go wrong with the Price at 42.49 (49.99 less a Discount Voucher currently on the advert), so is Great Value and overall, It’s Fit-for-Purpose, Functional & a Great Buy! Thank you.
Fantastic tent. Fast set up, comes with good guy lines and everything. Only reason I give it 4 stars is I would like if when the rainfly part was up there was a second door with water protection and I didnt have to take the fly down to close it. It does have a bug screen which is nice but doesnt stop water from kind of “bouncing” into the lower part of the tent sometimes.
Last update: They sent the same one by mistake and told me to keep it and today I received the updated one and the windows are fixed. I will now give it a 4 star only because I still dislike the door but their customer service is excellent. They go above and beyond to make the customers happy. Update: They sent an email stating they were redesigning the windows to open from the inside and would send me the upgraded version. I received it yesterday and it’s the same exact design that I sent back. Not impressed.will update with any more info.
It seemed waterproof but I added waterproof when I bought it. Sets up mostly easy. The 1 star is because this is the dumbest design in a tent ever. The windows u either have to stake out as the covering is on the outside or if u want to see out u have to go outside to open the flap. The door has mesh and the cover. If you stake out the cover it leaves the door open to just the mesh. If you want the flap to cover the door then you have to move it to get in and out of the tent. Here is one or 2 YouTube videos about this tent. Save your money and buy something else that is designed better.
Great backpacking solo te
Easy and quick to set up. Took backpacking through mark Twain forest held great through wind and no leaks in heavy rain. Recommend for adventures and woodlarkers alike. Hope to get many years of adventures great product.
Good Tent. Roomy for one. Easy to put up. When the door is shut you get condensation on it.i have used it for two weekends and about to use it on the third. I like it and it’s a great price.
Tienda ligera y compacta, perfecta para rutas en solitario o en pareja
Est claro que esta no es una tienda familiar, sino un modelo pensado para aventureros solitarios o para compartirla con una pareja muy bien avenida, debido a sus dimensiones contenidas. Lejos de ser un inconveniente, este tamao reducido es precisamente su gran ventaja para quienes hacen rutas a pie, en moto o en bicicleta y necesitan minimizar peso y volumen.
Plegada ocupa muy poco espacio y pesa relativamente poco, lo que facilita muchsimo llevarla en la mochila, en las alforjas de la bici o en el equipaje de la moto. Es de esas tiendas que no te piensas dos veces antes de meterla en la bolsa porque sabes que no va a ser una carga extra importante. Adems, el montaje y desmontaje son muy sencillos, algo que se agradece al final del da cuando ests cansado y solo quieres tener el refugio listo en unos minutos.
Una vez montada se nota bastante resistente frente a situaciones de viento medio o incluso algo fuerte, siempre que est bien tensada y anclada. La estructura y el tejido aguantan bien, de modo que transmite confianza para noches con tiempo regular sin miedo a que se venga abajo a la primera racha.
Otro punto importante es que es impermeable y ofrece un buen aislamiento trmico, algo notable teniendo en cuenta que se trata de una tienda de una sola capa de nylon, sin doble techo. Aun as, mantiene el interior seco y ayuda a conservar el calor razonablemente bien, siempre dentro de lo esperable en una tienda ligera de este tipo.
En resumen, una tienda muy recomendable para quienes buscan un refugio compacto, ligero y fcil de montar para rutas de trekking, moto o bici en solitario o en pareja, con buena resistencia al viento y a la lluvia pese a su construccin de una sola tela.
Ottima per attivita' di fuoristrada, biking ed escursionismo.
Aspetto.
L’aspetto e’ quello di una piccolo igloo ellissoidale con l’armatura esterna. Non ha sopra telo e le stecche portanti si incrociano sulla sommita’ . La tenda viene agganciata con degli anelli di robusta fattura. L’apertura per l’accesso e’ spaziosa e disposta sul fianco della tenda, consentendo un comodo ingresso, senza doversi prostrare per accedere.
Due finestre sulle parti piu’ strette armate con zanzariera consentono una buona circolazione dell’aria. Condizione assolutamente necessaria nei periodi caldi e due scuri con cordino possono o chiudere o lasciare aperta la finestra. Due cordini all’estremita’ degli scuri consentono, se agganciati al terreno o a due paletti, di proteggere la finestra dalla pioggia facendoli diventare due piccole tettoie.
Anche la porta d’ingresso e’ provvista di un telo arrotolabile che puo’ essere usato come tettoia.
Aspetti tecnici costruttivi.
La paleria incrociata da’ resistenza al vento garantendo, da sola grande stabilita’. In piu’ il corredo e’ provvisto di cordini e picchetti che, a mio avviso e’ necessario usare solo in caso di vento forte.
La porta ha un doppio telo. Uno di chiusura esterno ed uno di chiusura con ventilazione interno, provvisto di un’ampia zanzariera che protegge dagli insetti senza privare dell’aria.
Il catino e’ molto rialzato da terra, circa 30 cm. Il che significa che in caso di pioggia e’ difficile che l’acqua penetri dal basso ed e’ anche un ottima protezione per l’ingresso di insetti ed animali.
Si monta in pochi minuti. Non avendo sopra telo, basta infilare le stecche nei supporti ed agganciare gli anelli. In caso di pioggia, stimo si possa montare in meno tre minuti.
Materiali.
I materiali sembrano di ottima fattura. Il telo e’ consistente e resistente allo strappo, pur rimanendo leggero.
Le zanzariere sono ben tre e di grande superficie. Assicurano senz’altro una buona ventilazione e difesa dagli insetti.
Anche il catino sembra resistente e le cuciture sono termosaldate.
Le stecche sono in vetroresina e sicuramente rappresentano la parte rilevante del peso. Certo rispetto a quelle in alluminio sono piu’ resistenti, ma anche notevolmente piu’ pesanti.
La tenda pesa 2,3 Kg circa che non e’ un peso da poco. Per un equipaggiamento da quod o da bike, sicuramente puo’ andare.
Il tutto e’ accolto in tre sacchi: uno per i picchetti, uno per la paleria ed uno per la tenda.
Conclusioni e considerazioni.
Una tenda di buona fattura con accorgimenti interessanti. Le aperture per la ventilazione e la grande apertura centrale assicurano il passaggio dell’aria. Ottima per i periodi estivo e di transizione.
Il montaggio e facilissimo ed immediato grazie anche alla mancanza del sopra telo.
L’apertura ,arrotolabile verso l’alto ,si puo’ usare come piccola tettoia. Cosa da non trascurare , in quanto consente di cucinare all’aperto senza bagnarsi, in caso di pioggia e senza bagnare l’ingresso della tenda che resta cosi’ riguardata.
Trasportabile facilmente e di dimensioni adatte anche a due persone. Perfetta per una persona con attrezzatura.
La mancanza di una divisione tra sopra telo impermeabile e sotto telo, solitamente in cotone, offre in rischio della condensa, ma considerando il periodo stagionale per cui viene proposta e le ampie zanzariere questo e’ un evento sicuramente raro.
Bello lo spazio interno dove, grazie all’altezza , si puo’ stare in ginocchio senza toccare con la testa, ma la cosa piu’ comoda e’ l’ingresso che essendo provvisto di un’ampia apertura laterale, non costringe a posizioni scomode. Basta piegarsi sulle ginocchia e ci si ritrova gia’ dentro.
I have a couple of Night Cat Items, they are all good and this is no exception. You can see from the pictures, it came wrapped well, no problems there. The weight is not too much on a motorcycle to carry with you. Very good instructions with a lot of pictures. (My 13 Year Old Granddaughter put it together with the instructions in 10 minutes.) The stakes and poles had their own bag to keep them from puncturing the tent when you roll them up in it to put it away. It’s roomy when you get it together. I have pictures of the front and side. I got in the tent and there were no thin spots (that’s why I set it up on a sunny dry day, to look for them). The tent looks like it will be durable, there should be no leakage thru it. I was happy with the value. The handle is made onto the bag it fits into, so it’s sturdy. I did have one pole end that the elastic strap broke off, but that was probably the granddaughter with her heavy hand. I won’t ding them for that, even with the pole problem, it’s a solid 5 star for quality and ease of setup, I will recommend it.
