ART Frame, kein digitaler Bilderrahme
Du machst 50 Fotos die Sekunde mit deinem Smartphone und suchst einen digitalen Bilderrahmen, mit mglichst viel Speicherplatz, damit du dort alle hochladen kannst, dann ist das hier das falsche Produkt.
Der SwitchBot KI Art Frame prsentiert die Bilder unaufdringlich, mchte aber in Szene gesetzt werden. Es ist kein digitaler Bilderrahmen, auf den ich gedankenlos hunderte Fotos hochlade und alle 10 Sekunden ein anderes anzeigen lasse. Er zwingt mich dazu, mich mit den Motiven zu beschftigen. Der Auswahlprozess der anzuzeigenden Bilder erinnert eher an den Kauf eines Bildes, an das Erstellen einer Diashow. Nur dass ich hier auch noch, dank KI, eigene Bilder fr mich “malen” lassen kann.
Ich habe in der App Platz fr 500 Bilder, kann jedoch nur 10 auf den Art Frame laden. Das zwingt mich dazu, mir genauer zu berlegen, was ich hochlade und was nicht, welches Motiv und welchen Ausschnitt ich whle, vielleicht sogar mit Hilfe der KI den Style des Bildes komplett zu verndern. Der Art Frame macht was mit einem. Anfangs wollte ich ihn einfach nur auf ein Regal in einer dunklen Ecke stellen, inzwischen berlege ich, ob er nicht eher doch einen prominenten Platz an der Wand verdient, vielleicht sogar mit etwas Beleuchtung in Szene gestellt. Da das Display selbst nicht leuchtet, braucht es in dunklen Ecken Licht von auen.
Geliefert wird der Art Frame in einem groen und stabilen Karton. Innen ist alles mit dicken Schaumstoff ausgekleidet. Es wirkt fast schon albern, dass um den Rahmen zustzlich noch Eck-Schtzer aus Kunststoff angebracht sind. Der gebrstete, schwarze Rahmen wirkt edel. Das eigentliche digitale Bild (31x41x2 cm) kann entnommen und auch in einen anderen Rahmen eingesetzt werden.
Zur Montage gibt es Klebehaken fr glatte Oberflchen und Wandaufhngungen zum Nageln (gesehen habe ich sowas noch nicht). Wer will, kann den Rahmen auch anders aufhngen, wichtig ist nur, dass die 1,2KG sicher an der Wand bleiben.
Der technische Teil:
Geladen wird der Rahmen ber USB Typ C. Dazu muss er zwingend von der Wand abgenommen werden, weil der Anschluss hinten ist, ein Glck soll man nur alle 2 Jahre laden knnen. Eine LED zeigt das Laden an und mit einem Knopf kann man den Rahmen mit dem Handy koppeln.
Die Einrichtung ber die Switchbot App war gewohnt einfach. Auch das Firmware-Update nach der Ersteinrichtung wundert nicht, immerhin ist das Produkt noch sehr neu.
Ich kann den Art Frame mit Smart-Home-Lsungen von Alexa, Google und auch Home Assistant (Bluetooth und Cloud) koppeln, um dann das nchste Bild anzuzeigen (wenn ich unbedingt will).
Sonst kann ich in der App noch auswhlen, ob der Rahmen Hochkant oder Quer steht und ob ein statisches Bild angezeigt haben will oder das Bild sich alle 15 Min bis 24 Std ndern soll. Mehr gibt es hier erstmal nicht.
Wenn ich eines der bis zu zehn Fotos auf den Rahmen lade, dann kann ich noch Sttigung, Kontrast, Helligkeit und Farbton anpassen. Das Hochladen dauert ca. 60 Sekunden, der Bildwechsel nochmal 30 Sekunden.
Die Bilder sind auf dem Art Frame alle etwas dunkler. Einige Farben knnen nicht so leicht dargestellt werden, mir ist aufgefallen, dass Magenta so eine Farbe ist. Geht man nah dran, dann wirkt das Bild arg pixelig. Mit dem empfohlenen Abstand von ca. 80 cm fllt das jedoch nicht mehr auf.
Anfangs habe ich Fotos der Familie hochgeladen, meist Schnappschsse. Schne Motive, aber Schnappschsse. Hufig waren sie recht dunkel und kamen auf den Art Frame nicht so recht zur Geltung. Die Familie habe ich so auch nicht berzeugt. Dann habe ich dem AI Art Frame die Chance gegeben, die er verdient und mir das 4,99/Monat teure KI Abo geholt. Switchbot scheint hier mehr als eine simple KI-Generierung zu machen, es mssen Anweisungen enthalten sein, die das Bild auf den Frame anpassen. Die Ergebnisse sind gut, die Fotos kommen so viel besser zur Geltung. Der Remix von bestehenden Fotos zu “Kunstwerken” kommt auch bei der Familie besser an. Dass ich neue Bilder mithilfe einer einfachen Texteingabe erstellen lassen kann und dabei scheinbar keine Grenzen habe (abgesehen vom 400 Bilder/Monat Limit) begeistert die Familie noch mehr. Ich htte nie gedacht, dass ich ernsthaft berlege, das Abo zu behalten….aber es macht Spa.
Die Kinder haben vorgeschlagen, dass am Sonntag jeder zwei Fotos fr den Art Frame erstellen darf und wir sie dann die ganze Woche lang durchlaufen lassen.
Es ist kein digitaler Bilderrahmen fr Schnappschsse, am Ende ist es ein sehr spannendes Produkt mit einem sehr passenden Namen – AI Art Frame.
Leider nicht gnstig, aber wesentlich gnstiger als stndig neue Bilder zu kaufen :).
This feels very much like a beta. Not a bad beta but you need to know that you’re getting basically the first gen of color e-ink art displays. The resolution just isn’t there for detailed photos. And the iPhone app interface to the frame is clunky at best.
That said, I love it. It looks like an actual piece of artwork or a photo (depending on what you display) rather than a screen. The lack of backlighting is a feature, not a bug. Aim a light at it and provide it with a good, simple, image to display and you’ll swear you’re looking at a print, not a screen.
Can’t wait for the price to come down, for the resolution to improve, and for the dimensions to grow!

Prodotto davvero particolare. A differenza di una classica cornice digitale, qui non si ha la sensazione di guardare uno schermo acceso: l’effetto molto pi simile a una stampa incorniciata.
La configurazione semplice e dall’app si possono cambiare le immagini in pochi secondi. La funzione AI divertente e permette di creare immagini personalizzate da esporre senza dover cercare continuamente nuovi contenuti. Richiede un abbonamento dedicato.
Apprezzo il fatto che funzioni a batteria, tra l’altro dalle caratteristiche sembra infinita, quindi pu essere posizionato praticamente ovunque senza pensare ai cavi. E per un quadro dove l’estetica tutto fondamentale!

I bought the SwitchBot AI Art Frame mainly out of curiosity, but it has quickly become one of the most interesting pieces in my home. It’s not just a digital photo frame, it feels closer to a living artwork that changes over time.
The first thing that stands out is the display. Unlike traditional digital frames that use bright LCD screens, this uses an electronic ink display, which gives it a much more natural, paper-like look. It doesn’t glow or feel intrusive, which makes a big difference in a living space. It genuinely looks like a framed print on the wall rather than a screen.
Setup was simple. I connected it through the app, uploaded a few images, and started exploring the AI-generated artwork feature. This is where the product becomes quite unique. You can generate new art styles and rotate through them, which keeps things fresh without having to constantly upload new content yourself.
Battery life is another strong point. Because it uses e-ink technology, it consumes very little power, so you don’t have to worry about charging it frequently. That makes it much easier to place anywhere, including walls where running cables would normally be a hassle.

I wanted this to be able to display my kids art without having to take up a ton of space. This has far exceeded my expectations. I am blown aways by how good the picture looks. It truly looks like a framed painting. The e ink is amazing. There is little to no glare on the screen. Just know this is NOT for photos. They will come out flat looking. But i scanned some of the pics artwork and that came out great. See the 2 pics I added for the original piece and how it looks on the art frame.
What i like most about this is that it is wireless. You charge the battery and then you can hang it anywhere. That just adds to the look of a real art piece. It fit seamlessly into our family room setup. Im so happy that i decided to pick this up!
I’ve had this for a couple of months now and I love it. It’s much larger than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. The measurements DO NOT include the frame. It’s not really clear in the ad. You can add your own photos or choose paintings from a large library. Dark photos don’t work as well as bright, vibrant photos. I love being able to quickly change it from my phone whenever the mood strikes.
This frame is all about expectations. If you want your images to look like they do on your phone, don’t buy this. Not every good picture looks good in this frame. This display is completely different from an LCD or OLED display. If you want a screen that emits no light, blends in with a room, and displays photos in its own way, give this frame a try.
Someone in a review called the images “painterly,” and that’s a perfect way to describe them. They’re almost a caracture of the photo you send it, rather than a copy. Color e-ink displays are somewhat new, and they’ve got some room to improve. I don’t think there are better displays to compare this one to right now.
The quality of the image has a lot to do with how far you are from the frame, how much light falls on it, and the image you’ve chosen. If the environment is dim, the image doesn’t look as vivid, and whites aren’t as light. If you’re too close, it looks very pixelated and grainy. Some images work better with this display than others. It works best with crisp, simple images. I’ve taken to using Adobe Photoshop and Firefly to modify my images specifically for this frame. Removing distracting elements and turning them into drawings and paintings makes them more suitable for this display.
This frame was pretty easy to set up, although the battery was completely drained when I opened it. The app is good. I haven’t used the paid features; I’ve only used my own images. You don’t have to give them any money to use your own images.
This review may sound a little negative, but I’m giving this five stars. I’m really enjoying my frame! It’s exactly what I expected it to be: painterly, muted, and limited in ways I have to work around. I like to tinker with it. If this doesn’t sound like what you want, I’d stick with a frame with a more traditional display.
I’ve been using this product for overs a week and let me say, it’s very cool! The battery will drain with higer image change frequency. On the most frequency setting (15 mins) it would probably last a little over a week with no time restrictions. The app takes a little getting used to in some areas but has some very useful features like time restrictions, using your own content or generating content using AI. I didn’t test the AI functionality as it required a subscription. The screen is not the best for photos but this isn’t a photo frame. If you convert your photos into artistic versions it does a great job with those. It doesn’t handle dark content well as it is always darker but it has to be a very dark image for that to happen. These app will tell you if it’s too dark before you transfer which is nice. If the app would give you a preview of what your image would look like on the actual framed screen that would be helpful. That said, it doesn’t take long to transfer a new image to the frame. The product was packaged very well and comes with extra mats. You can hang or use the integrated stand as well. The best part is that this screen isn’t backlit so it really does look like art. The average joe would never know this is a screen unless they saw the image change.
What would take this product to another level is a camera that can sense motion and detect the person in the room so it can display content based on that persons preference. Future version maybe! I’d also like to see a larger battery so I can set the image to change more often and a no mat version. The frame handles text very well so you could use this as an info sign at parties or similar.

Cool tech that looks like printed quality but with some downsides considering the price
Looks really great from a distance photos look like printed paper. Colours are not the most accurate but look fine. Love that it holds charge for a long time and doesn’t produce bright light like regulars lcd screens but on the flip side of that you need to put this on a bright location or get a frame light as the images look dark if you put them in a dark area. The biggest downside for me is that it can only hold 10 images at a time to rotate through. For the price I’d expect this to have a decent amount of storage, even 32GB would have been enough for hundreds of photos but they don’t even tell you how much storage the frame has. Overall though this was a great gift for my mom

Ich nutze den SwitchBot KI Art Frame 13,3” nun seit einiger Zeit im Alltag und bin insgesamt wirklich positiv berrascht, wie anders sich dieses Produkt im Vergleich zu klassischen digitalen Bilderrahmen anfhlt.
Der grte Unterschied zeigt sich direkt beim Display: Statt eines leuchtenden LCD- oder LED-Bildschirms kommt hier ein E-Ink-Panel zum Einsatz. Dadurch wirkt das Bild eher wie gedruckte Kunst auf Papier — matt, ruhig und ohne strende Spiegelungen. Gerade im Wohnzimmer oder Arbeitszimmer empfinde ich das als deutlich angenehmer als die blichen leuchtenden” Bilderrahmen.
Was mir besonders gefllt, ist die Kombination aus Technik und Dekoration. Der Rahmen fgt sich optisch sehr unauffllig in die Einrichtung ein und wirkt tatschlich mehr wie ein Kunstobjekt als wie ein technisches Gert. Genau das hebt ihn fr mich von vielen anderen digitalen Frames ab.
Die KI-Funktion ist ein spannendes Extra: ber die App lassen sich eigene Motive generieren oder bestehende Bilder kreativ verndern. Das funktioniert berraschend gut und sorgt dafr, dass immer wieder neue Inhalte angezeigt werden — quasi eine kleine, sich stndig verndernde Galerie.
Zustzlich kann man Zeitplne erstellen, sodass sich die Motive automatisch je nach Tageszeit oder Anlass ndern.
Ein weiterer klarer Pluspunkt ist die Akkulaufzeit. Durch die E-Ink-Technologie wird nur beim Bildwechsel Energie verbraucht, wodurch der Rahmen sehr lange ohne Aufladen auskommt. In der Praxis bedeutet das: kein Kabelsalat an der Wand und deutlich mehr Flexibilitt bei der Platzierung.
Natrlich ist das Konzept bewusst etwas anders ausgelegt als bei klassischen digitalen Bilderrahmen: Die Farben sind nicht so krftig wie bei LCD-Displays und Videos werden nicht untersttzt. Fr mich ist das aber kein Nachteil, sondern Teil des Konzepts — es geht hier klar um ruhige, stilvolle Darstellung von Kunst und Fotos, nicht um Multimedia.
Fazit:
Ein wirklich durchdachter und hochwertiger digitaler Bilderrahmen, der sich klar von der Masse abhebt. Wer eine dezente, elegante Art sucht, Kunst oder Fotos zu prsentieren und dabei Wert auf lange Akkulaufzeit und smartes Handling legt, wird hier definitiv zufrieden sein.
