Previously I used to have an under the sink filter with multiple pipes going in and out which was a bit of an issue maintaining in a rented apartment. This thing made having purified water easier and less messy. The filter lasts long and I bought two additional filters which in theory should last an additional two years. The water tastes good and if the TDS meter reading is accurate then it surely is doing an excellent job. The water straight from the tap tastes very chlorinated and is also hard

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersGreat unit - but dishonest claims about 1000's of substances removed....proof is here...
CERTIFIED TESTS include only 16-18 substances *NOT THOUSANDS* as advertised.

    GREAT UNIT, DISHONEST CLAIMS.

I would give it a 5 – because I love everything about this unit – but they deserve a 3 for dishonest claims. I gave it a four, because I think you should get it. But they need to know… For verification, check the QR code they include in one or two of the promotional photos. It will bring you to the five page test results from SGS. …

“…Selected test(s) as requested by applicant: Test the Removal rate of Turbidity, Total dissolved solids (TDS), Pentavalent arsenic, Mercury (Hg), Lead pH 6.5, Copper (Cu), Barium (Ba), Selenium (Se), Cadmium (Cd), Chromium(hexavalent), Nitrate (as N), Fluoride, Perchlorate, Perfluorooctane Sulfonate (PFOS), Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), Total coliforms, Chlorine at the start-up of the service life.” This is not “thousands.”

Aside from this there is almost nothing to be desired. It’s compact – slim and beautifully designed with only a few minor design changes I’d desire for perfection, silent, fast, reasonably priced, automatically refills or stops filling if you pull the pitcher to pour water, and it never leaks a drop. The water tastes great.

Golden Review Award: 56 From Our UsersIts actually pretty solid product.
I guess my expectations were a little too high. I was expecting 0 ppm water similar to Zero Water. It easily gets my water down to 6-9 ppm, which honestly is more than acceptable for my coffee making, especially if I have back and minerals anyway, but I really wanted to start from a clean slate of zero. Not a super big deal especially considering I had 170 ppm water before. To be honest, it’s perfect for my office where I don’t want to be drinking nasty municipal water or making coffee with it. I have to admit, it is easy to use. All you do is fill up the container. Make sure the cartridges in and you’re off to the races. You get a pretty darn good size reservoir too for single or even two people use so that’s nice. Overall, Bill quality is very well built, but I really wouldn’t have minded having a glass container so it doesn’t leach micro plastics into the water. I understand if they have to use plastic to meet a certain price point, but it would be nice if they had extra pictures where I could buy a glass one if I want the upgrade. The taste of the water taste very clean and pure. I’m very happy with that. The materials are overall very well done but like I said, I would not have minded having a glass pitcher.

Worth the money and then some
Love this thing, been a month but thanks to it, my whole house is drinking water now regularly/daily. Can’t praise it enough. Wish I could give one to all my friends.

Golden Review Award: 67 From Our UsersWorkhorse
Love this machine and definitely a workhorse. Iowa has had a terrible issue this year with high nitrate levels and PFAs, due to the rains washing out the fertilizer and pesticides from the farms into our waterways and a complete lack of regulation regarding these from our Governor and Trifecta government for years. We tout second place in cancer rates as a result. Our water treatment plant (only one in the country to handle these levels) has been running additional water treatments since the beginning of the year and we have been given water conservation ordinances at least twice so far this year as a result. The water just smells terrible with the high chlorine content and just not good all around. I got tired of buying bottled water and the plastic bottles taking up so much space in our recycling bin. So decided to invest in this. If your water isn’t trash like ours and you aren’t using it to drink AND cook with, you’ll get by with a filter replacement every 6 to 12 months, but if you are clocking over 300TDS regularly like us, you’ll be getting 3 to 4 months out of the filter before the red filter light turns on (15% life left before complete replacement). Filters are sold in packs of 2 for about $80 on Amazon. So not too bad. The water tastes fine and zero chlorine or other residual taste. The whole unit is solid and well built. Easy to clean the containers and really nothing to have go wrong on it (no clips to break, no weak lids, no hinges). It does make noise but it’ll be quieter than an icemaker filling up and refills automatically due to a floater. So even when the water evaporates, it automatically triggers it to refill. So no, you don’t have to stand in front of it pushing a button. Compared to the whole house systems, which we can’t afford, this is good value.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersBest countertop RO system
I have had an Apec countertop RO system for over 6 years now and i really liked it until i got this DREO version. I like that it is pump-driven so you get RO water faster AND it produces less wastewater. It is a 7-step filtration system in one filter cannon vs 4-steps in four cannons . Very well made and i like the convenience of changing one cartridge in seconds! Mine produces 9-34 TDS so the water tastes perfect! And it is perfect for me since a travel often for work. Very compact and lightweight. Very happy. Highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 107 From Our UsersEasy to install.
After having another old Yorkie put down due to bladder stones, well as other problems, I started into doing some research.

Having lost two dogs to kidney, or bladder stones, I realized there might be a correlation to our hard water, lime, manganese, magnesium, and iron to name the primary culprits, I read enough evidence, and talked with several Vet’s, and realized the hard water might very well be the cause of the stones. I’ve also known several people who had a painful time passing urinary stones, or needed a trip to the ER. So, I decided to look into a Reverse Osmosis water filter.

After researching, I decided upon the DREO. Five liter unit, which would make plenty of filtered water for my dogs, Cockatiel, and myself.

I chose the counter top unit because all you need to do is plug it in. No under the sink installation, no cussing, and no need for the plumber. Just set it up, and you’re ready to go.

Everything you will need is in the box. You’ll need nothing else. Set up only took a few minutes, and then time used in cleaning the system out. You’ll need to run fourtank fulls of water through the machine, then you’re ready to go.

The water tastes better, no chlorine smell, or taste, no more hard water. That means no more lime build up in the tea kettle, or crusty lime rings in dog water bowls. My Cockatiel likes the water too. I found the five liter size perfect for my three Yorkies, bird, and myself.

Two pitchers, plus the water tank, provides all the water we need, and great tasting iced tea, and lemonade too.

Small dogs, and cats often develop stones in their urinary tract. I’m hopeful this is the end of the stones. The water tastes good, the dogs eagerly drink it too. So if your looking for an RO water filter, the DREO counter top, Five liter unit. may be the best thing you can buy for peace of mind.

Golden Review Award: 1 From Our UsersGreat Filter would recommend
The filter is very quick and easy to setup, I was worried about the flavor but it taste great to me and I’m VERYYY picky with flavor. It’s easy to refill and the fact that the filters lasts like 2 years was a major selling point for me, would recommend to anyone who wants a nice filter without breaking the bank or needing to install one under a sink.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGreat product water is perfect everytime
I was very skeptical, but I decided to give this a chance. WOW. The quality of the water is extremely good. You can legit taste the difference. I can even tell how much better my daily pot of coffee is. It’s extremely easy to use and it doesn’t take up much counter space. The design is about perfect for the kitchen. Highly recommend.

No replacement filters available in Australia.
Wonderful machine, but there are no replacement filters available on Amazon Australia. Dreo does not sell the replacement filters in Australia at all. You also cannot buy them from Amazon US. If the replacement filters were available I would highly recommend this water filter.

Dreo customer service was excellent, I received a refund due to the lack of replacement filters.
