This came packaged REALLY well. I bought the 3L model because of limited countertop space, but I will buy a cheap pitcher to fill up and keep in the fridge, since the 3L pitcher is small. It fits well under my upper cabinets.
I’m from Iowa, where we have serious problems with nitrates in our water due to the heavy ag industry. This filter DID lower the level a bit. I will probably run the filtered water through a second time. Most notable was the water hardness (see photos). The water tastes much better than tap. No chlorine taste. It was easy to set up. It’s quiet. They have a manufacturer warranty on it and the directions are written in clear English. It’s a much cheaper option than an under the counter unit, without having to mess with plumbing, and appears to be excellent quality.
It’s nice design and easy to use for my daughter’s dorm. It’s takes four minutes to fill up. We live in hard water state and her cat got Urinary blockage so l bought this for her cat too. Taste pure water and nice to have Digital Display for TDS.
The Dreo Ro system came professionally packaged which impressed me right away. Setting up was simple and the intelligent design gives me confidence in the water I’m consuming. After setting up by running the 4 tanks of water, I would suggest running at least a 5th one to get good tasting water. Also, while the system gives continuous TDS readings, the first clear pitcher TDS reading is the one to count on. (the second will show a higher reading as it is somewhat compromised by the waste water but still way better than tap water). The Dreo TDS reading is within 2 points of my handheld TDS device. My only two suggestions to improve your experience are to 1) rinse the tank out well before refilling AND 2) put some sort of sliding mat underneath the Dreo. For the short term I put a baking mat underneath until I can order a slider mat (similar to the one I have under my mixer). All that said, I am very happy with this purchase.
My well water is doable but not fit to drink. Bought this unit. Followed set-up instructions. This RO unit is amazing. Our water now is better than bottled water. This unit will pay for itself in no time with the savings of not having to buy bottle water, which is amazing! The taste and quailty is 100%. Very easy to use, and filter speed is amazing. I cant believe I didn’t do this sooner!
I was surprised at how good this unit is. Well built. Nicely designed pitcher that pours well and it has a simple to use tap water container. Easy to use. Quiet. And the water tastes better (a lot better), which makes better tea and coffee. I purchased this based on a test review I saw showing that it (actually its more expensive bigger model by the same mfg’er) filtered (actually reverse osmosis – RO) the water better than anything else that was tested.
Why not 5 stars? The literature that comes with it says that the water quality for a RO unit would be less than 50 TDS (total dissolved solids, typically measured in ppm). However, while the unit’s meter readings are typically around 30 TDS, fluctuations while filling the pitcher are sometimes greater than 50 by a little bit. I would guess that when the pitcher is full it is at less than 50 TDS. Still this is far better than the around 400 TDS of our tap water. Also, the output is limited by the size of the pitcher, which is about 1 quart (liter) and the fill rate is a little slow. For us, quart of water disappears pretty quickly.
So, overall, I think this is a really good unit, especially for the price, and would recommend it.
However, I am thinking that I would have like to have gotten their larger unit that has a second filter and a larger water capacity. That would be my 5 star unit. I would highly consider the larger unit for a family and/or using it for cooking water.
It does what it is supposed to efficiently. We are a family of four, and I think having an extra pitcher in the fridge would mean that we will never run out of water. It looks sleek. Water tastes clean and I feel safe for my kids to drink it.
However, I was not aware that this product should be 12 inches away from wall based on the manual. It is compact but that requirement means it needs more space and buyers should be aware of that.
Overall, I am happy with this product. Hopefully, it will last us for long.
Rarely leave reviews. This is a solid product. I live in an apartment, I was tired of buying / drinking water bottles and I don’t trust Brita. This was the solution, and I’m happy with it. Water tastes great, and so far, machine works really well. Holds a good amount of water as well, and works fast. Would recommend for anyone without a fridge water dispenser or unable to install under sink RO system.
