Top 10 Customer Questions & Answers – 20V Max Backpack Sprayer
Q1: Does this sprayer come with a battery and charger? A: No, this is a "Tool Only" unit. It does not include a battery or a charger. You will need to use your existing standard DeWalt 20V MAX Lithium-Ion battery to operate it.
Q2: Will my DeWalt 20V/60V FlexVolt battery or 6.0Ah battery fit in the compartment? A: No, they will not fit. To protect the battery from moisture and dust, the unit features a fully enclosed and sealed battery compartment. It is specifically designed to fit standard DeWalt 20V MAX batteries up to 5.0Ah (such as DCB200, DCB203, DCB204, and DCB205). Larger capacity batteries (6.0Ah+) and FlexVolt batteries are physically too bulky for the protective lid to close and lock securely.
Q3: How should I clean the sprayer after using fertilizers or other solutions? A: Proper maintenance is crucial for maximizing the lifespan of the diaphragm pump and seals. After each use, you must never leave solutions sitting in the tank overnight. Please empty the tank completely, then fill it with up to 4 gallons of clean water. Run the sprayer to flush the clean water through the pump, hose, and wand. Repeat this flushing process 2 to 3 times to ensure all residue is completely cleared out and to prevent future clogging.
Q4: How far can this sprayer shoot? I need to reach the second story of my house and tall trees. A: When adjusted to the maximum 90 PSI high-pressure setting, the sprayer can reach up to 20–25 feet vertically. This makes it highly effective for spraying tall tree canopies, second-story siding, or high windows without needing a ladder.
Q5: How long will a standard 5.0Ah battery last on a single charge? A: A fully charged 5.0Ah battery provides up to 2.5 hours of continuous spraying. This allows you to spray over 100 gallons of liquid (approximately 25 to 30 full 4-gallon tank refills) before needing to recharge, making it perfect for large properties.
Top 10 Customer Questions & Answers – 20V Max Backpack Sprayer
Q6: Is the spray pressure adjustable, or is it just one speed? A: It is fully adjustable! The unit features a variable pressure dial that allows you to smoothly adjust from 0 up to 90 PSI. You can instantly dial it down for a gentle mist for delicate greenhouse plants, or turn it up for a high-pressure stream to clean siding and decks.
Q7: Can I use wettable powders or harsh solutions in this tank? A: Yes. The sprayer is equipped with a heavy-duty Diaphragm Pump, which is much better at handling wettable powders without clogging compared to standard gear pumps. It also features premium Nitrile/FKM seals and a UV-protected tank that safely handle standard liquid fertilizers, plant nutrients, and water-soluble solutions. (Note: Flammable liquids should never be used).
Q8: What kind of nozzles does it come with? Is the wand made of plastic? A: The wand is made of non-corrosive, heavy-duty stainless steel (telescoping from 21 to 40 inches). The sprayer includes 5 specialized nozzles to cover all applications: a Butterfly Single-head, F-type Dual-head, Three-shower, Five-hole, and a Copper Nozzle. It also features a universal connection for aftermarket attachments.
Q9: How heavy is this backpack when completely full of water? A: Four gallons of liquid weighs approximately 33.4 lbs. Combined with the dry weight of the machine and the battery, the total weight will be around 43–45 lbs when fully loaded. However, our pro-grade deluxe harness—featuring a breathable mesh back pad, wide padded shoulder straps, and an adjustable hip belt—helps distribute this weight evenly across your body to significantly reduce fatigue.
Q10: Do I have to manually pump this at all like traditional sprayers? A: Not at all. This is a fully automatic, battery-powered electric sprayer. The 40W electric motor and diaphragm pump do 100% of the work. Just squeeze the handle and spray, completely eliminating the arm and shoulder fatigue associated with traditional manual pump-action backpack sprayers.

Great backpack sprayer, with many attachments. Perfent for garden or nursery.
This is a very well built battery powered backpack sprayer. It comes with the tank, shoulder harness, sprayer, hose, and numerous different sprayer ends. It is easy to set up for use, by simply connecting the hose to the tank, filling the tank, installing a compatible battery, and adjusting the dial on the side of the tank for the desired spray pressure.
The sprayer is designed to operate with the DeWALT 20V battery platform. As I’ve been on the Makita battery platform for a long time, and have many Makita batteries, I use an inexpensive adapter so that I can use the Makita batteries in DeWalt compatible tools that I have. This is a great way for anyone that is already on a specific battery platform (DeWALT, Makita, Milwaukee), to use between the different brand tools. As the splash shield cover on this backpack sprayer is on the lower side for being able to fit the adapter and full size 5Ah Makita battery, I’m using the 2Ah Makita batteries that I have. The 2Ah with an adapter fits under the splash shield fine. It will just require changing the battery out if using for extended spraying times.
The sprayer works fantastic in operation. It is comfortable on the back/shoulders, the pressure is easy to adjust, and it has exceptional performance. I also like that the hose can be unscrewed from the tank and the water will not leak from the tank port.
I have only ever used hand pump pressurized sprayers, this performs so much better in comparison. The sprayer comes with numerous different spray head attachments to get the right mist/flow of water required.
I looked at the comparable big name backpack sprayers and they are listed for around twice the cost. Overall, this is a great value sprayer considering it’s low list price, abundant attachments, and great performance.
Excellent sprayer especially if you don’t need the batteries and charge
I purchze this backpack sprzyer because I have plenty of 20v Dewalt tools b and batteries i I don’t need any more batteries or chargers. with this sprayer I use my own Dewalt 20 v 5amp batteries from my tools. I mixed up 2 gallons of insecticide and did my entire front yard and the battery still showed fully charged. Best backpack sprayer other than dewalt but half the price. No leaks and the pump shuts off when you let go of the trigger saving battery power. 71 years old and can only take the weight of 2 gallons at a time but this saves me a lot of time. Would highly recommend this unit especially if you already have the 20 V Dewalt batteries and chargers.
Perfect for food plots. Runs forever on my DeWalt 20V.
Picked this up specifically for targeted weed control on my food plots. I’ve already run about 16 gallons through it using my existing DeWalt batteries, and I’m seriously impressed. Battery efficiency is killer—one 20V pack easily lasts for four or more full tanks. The adjustable nozzle dials right into the spray pattern I need, no leaks or issues. Best part? The pressure knob and power switch are easy to reach while I’m walking, so I can adjust the flow on the move without taking the backpack off. Huge time saver compared to my old manual sprayers.
I’ve been using this 4-gallon battery-powered backpack sprayer for a bit now, and it’s been a really solid addition to my lawn care setup.
The biggest advantage for me is the DeWalt 20V battery compatibility. I already have several DeWalt batteries, so being able to just plug one in and go is incredibly convenient—no need to buy into another battery system.
The adjustable pressure (0–90 PSI) is a great feature. Whether I’m doing light watering, applying weed killer, or tackling heavier jobs, I can dial it in exactly how I need it. It gives you a lot of control compared to manual sprayers.
Another standout is how lightweight and comfortable it is for a backpack sprayer. Even when it’s full, the straps distribute the weight well, and I can use it for extended periods without it feeling like a burden.
The long spray wand/nozzle is also super helpful. It extends far enough to reach awkward areas without constantly repositioning, which saves time and effort.
What really impressed me is the battery life—getting over 100 gallons per charge feels accurate in real-world use. I can get through multiple jobs before needing to swap batteries.
Overall, this sprayer is versatile, efficient, and easy to use. It’s perfect for lawn care, spraying chemicals, or even general outdoor cleaning. If you already use DeWalt batteries, this is an easy recommendation.
Absolutely love my new 4 gallon battery operated sprayer. This device is constructed well and feels comfortable using on your back or being carried handheld. This makes it good for large or small tasks. It was easy to use, setup and best of all my existing DeWalt battery fit right in. The biggest thing I worry about with any water device is if the connections leak. I’m happy to report all connections were secure and no leaks even with different attachments. The spraying unit extends to make reaching the ground and high up items easy on your back. The device has a battery life indicator as well as an intensity switch. Overall I am impressed with the quality and usefulness of this device it’s great for a small backyard garden like mine or a farmer with acres of land.
I have this generic one and an actual DEWALT sprayer. For the money, the generic sprayer works great. The wand telescopes out which is a feature that the DEWALT does not have. It comes with a variety of spray tips and this works well with the DEWALT batteries. This is definitely a cheaper built sprayer, the straps aren’t the best and not as comfortable as the DEWALT, but it works great for the price.
Works well. Sprays pretty high. I learned to use lowest setting for chemical discharge otherwise it really goes through chemicals. My only concern is that the belly strap buckle’s will fall of the straps when not in use. If the motor holds up, this should be a fine unit for the money.
I couldn’t be happier with the Paxwrenx 4-Gallon Battery Powered Backpack Sprayer. The fact that it’s compatible with my DeWalt 20V Max batteries was the main reason I chose it—and it did not disappoint.
Setup was quick and straightforward, and the build quality feels solid right out of the box. The battery-powered operation is a huge upgrade from manual pumping—consistent pressure, no fatigue, and it saves a ton of time, especially for larger areas.
The 4-gallon capacity is perfect for my needs, and the backpack design is surprisingly comfortable, even when full. The straps are well-padded and distribute weight nicely. I’ve used it for weed control, fertilizer, general yard maintenance, and insect control around the house, including carpenter bees, and it handles everything with ease.
One thing that really stood out is the strong, consistent pressure—it has no problem reaching the eaves on my second-story home, which makes treating siding and upper areas incredibly easy without needing a ladder.
I also really like the stainless steel telescoping wand—it feels durable and extends easily for added reach. The brass sprayer nozzle and brass connector are a nice upgrade over plastic components and give it a more professional, long-lasting feel. The included variety of spray tips is a big plus too, making it easy to switch between different applications.
The built-in battery indicator is another great touch—it makes it easy to keep an eye on remaining power so you’re not caught off guard in the middle of a job.
Spray pattern is adjustable and consistent, with good reach and even coverage. Battery life has been excellent so far—I can get through multiple tanks on a single charge.
If you already have DeWalt batteries, this is a no-brainer. Even if you don’t, it’s still a great value for the performance you get. Highly recommend!
Held off with review until I used a few times but I have absolutely no complaints about this sprayer. It works very well and cuts the time I spend on spraying in half. No more pumping up the pressure. Good product seems well made.
Great deal, 1,000 times better than a manual pump.
Excellent sprayer. A 4AH battery lasts more than a week of spraying for me as a professional landscaper.
My only problem is the sprayer handle. The valve stopped working correctly, it stays spraying for a few seconds after letting it go.
Other than that, it’s a really good deal.
It is difficult to see the liquid level as opposed to a clearer tank. I can live with it.
