Finding a dedicated, quick-access case that fits a full-frame body with a long super-telephoto zoom mounted is always a challenge—most holsters either squeeze the rig too tightly or force you to rely entirely on a single shoulder strap that digs into your neck during long walks in the field.
This case hits the sweet spot. My Canon R5 Mark II with the RF 100-500mm attached fits cleanly inside without having to reverse or detach anything, meaning I’m ready to shoot the second I pull it out.
What truly sets this case apart, though, is the versatility of the harness system. Having the option to switch between a traditional single shoulder strap and full backpack straps is a game-changer. Carrying a sizeable super-telephoto set-up on one shoulder gets tiring fast, but throwing this on as a backpack distributes the weight evenly across both shoulders while keeping the footprint compact.
Build quality, padding, and protection all feel top-tier. If you carry a long lens attached to a high-end body and want hands-free mobility without carrying a giant, bulky camera bag, this is absolutely the case to get.
Beefy
This is one solid piece of kit! This case should last for decades…no kidding. It’s built like a tank. They chose to overbuild this case by a good margin. The straps are plentiful and with thick pads. It can be worn on the belt of course, but I have found that the shoulder strap works best for me. Either way there are options.
It comes with a removable collar pad, which makes sure the lens does not wobble around in the case. There is also a removable ‘hard’ divider which uses Velcro to stay in place. The lid is also well padded and includes a net pouch for filters and such. The stitching is top notch. The zippers are the micro kind which really helps to keep the rain out.
It holds my Sony 200-600mm lens with the camera body attached. Or if I am using the body, I can keep the lens hood on and it will still fit in the case. Options…lots of options.
I doubt you can find a better case than this for large telephoto lenses.
