Product description
This is quite the interesting pancake lens. Super lightweight, compact and reasonably sharp. Flare can be an issue but it is often able to be resolved by using one’s hand in line with the light source. If there is flare on bright light sources it will come in the form of an eight pointed star and decrease contrast a lot. There is no manual focus, but the auto focus is quite acceptable. Focus breathing is a bit of an issue for video but it not a problem for photography. Aperture is locked to 4.5 so it’s not ideal in low light, but for a daylight walkabout lens with a very small footprint it can’t be beat. It’s basically the size of a body cap.
This lens is SHARP!! I didn’t know what to expect from this lens, but the focal length and value are amazing on my Sony a7Cii. If you’re thinking about it, just get it-you won’t be disappointed.
I’ve never seen a lens with such a high level of micro contrast in my Sony A7iv before! And the bokeh is smooooooth. I don’t get impressed by much in lenses, but I’m grinning from ear to ear!! I have high quality lenses and this is by far my favorite lens now! I don’t ever write reviews, like ever but the fact that I’m even typing right now should tell you a lot about this lens.
