Excellent Bang for Buck You can’t change the Aperature at all, its locked to f4.5 (not a deal breaker for me)
The lens is insanely compact, making your camera pocketable if the body is also small (like an APSC camera)
I’ve found myself Shooting in Shutter mode, basically forcing it to shoot at 1/50 in dark areas and allowing the auto ISO to crank up, Since AI noise reduction is so effective these days, it can make for some pretty good pictures.
Overall I’d say its a really fun lens for making an APS-C camera extra portable for quick photography.

I also came back to change my review once I realized a neat modification you can do.
It seems the ‘star’ effect that occurs when pointing at bright lights is caused by this removable rubber ring, which can be plucked from the lens fairly easily.
Picture of light at my front door taken after removing this ring, no more star effect (which i prefer, not that i hated the star effect).
What a star burs I compared this lens with my Sony 24mm 2.8 prime. I did not expect the Viltrox 28mm to win but see how well it did. I was impressed. Watch the video that I posted. The star bursts are very unique.
