The Viltrox 25mm f1.7 has excellent optical quality which is surprising at this low price point. I have had no focus issues using it with my Fujifilm X-S10 with IBIS. This lens is sharp even at f1.7, but I typically I shoot at f2 with this lens. The only optical issue I found was noticeably softer results when shooting at close distances. The built quality is plastic and very light but OK with a metal mounting ring. There is no weather sealing though. I have four Fujinon zoom lenses but this is my only prime lens. I wanted at least one f2 lens for low light and this lens does that for me. It’s a useful addition to my lens set and glad I bought it.
This lens truly impressed me by punching way above its price point. All of the professional reviews are right: this is truly stellar image quality in a compact, fast lens package. The autofocus is really great too: I can’t believe it works as well as it does for such a low price. The only downside is no weather sealing, but at this price no one does that, so just something to be aware of more than anything. Highly recommended.
Fantastic
Tack sharp pictures lovely size well worth the money. Beautiful bokeh autofocus is bang on. Don’t have any issues with noise and has a lovely cloth bag to keep safe when traveling
Bough this for my Z50ii. The AF works just as fast as the Nikon Z lenses. The sharpness is unbelievable for this price! Even shooting wide open, the contrast and sharpness is really good. It’s lightweight and the plastic is high quality. I would highly recommend this lens. Viltrox is killing it!
One of the best bang for the buck.
Great focal length! Light and sharp, though it does have some vignette wide open, it does not bother me when shooting portraits, use a higher f stop and it will be less noticeable. bottom line fast, sharp, and I would recommend this over many Sony lenses and this would be half to a 3rd the cost.
It is a good lens: sharp enough, and it handles chromatic aberration and flaring well. It’s lightweight and made of plastic, with decent “nifty fifty” build quality. It’s not weather-sealed, though, so be careful in the rain.
Now, with the discount, it cost me 150 dollars and if you factor that into the equation, it’s a perfect lens.
