Based on my testing, it does what it says it does. I had no compatibility issues between my Apple TV 4K, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC. It switched nicely between and EDID information was correctly forwarded to the TV. It follows the CEC instructions to switch ON and OFF. It does not support auto-switching.
Negative are the tiny and very dim source indicator LEDs. They’re so dim I didn’t even notice them the first 10 minutes and was wondering why they did not put a source indicator.
I took off one star for because it does not come with power adapter and batteries which is plain annoying. I understand that is EU thing but I don’t live there so one star off.
A really nice Switch with no loss in quality
This item was provided to me free of charge through Amazon’s wonderful vine program, it gives me the opportunity to test and evaluate products I wouldn’t normally look at, in return I leave an unbiased product review as to whether I like a product or not. what makes a product good, or in some cases what makes a product bad, these are my opinions and my opinions alone, they are in no way swayed by Amazon or the manufactures of the product.
My daughters monitor only has one HDMI port, plenty of DP ports, but not HDMI, and as most of her devices were HDMI she had to keep swapping them out as the switches we have tried in the past has never carried a reliable enough 4K signal, they say they are but do not.
Ugreen have come in a delivered exactly what was advertised and everyone is now happy here.
Ugreen have always produced solid well built products, I have plenty of their products around the house and even in the car, this switch is no different, the build quality is really nice and robust, the connectors feel solid when you insert the cable, I also like that all the connectors are at the back, giving a nice aesthetic to the unit, now all she has to do is either use the included remote control or the little button on the top, so simple to use.
The output display is really stable with no glitching at all, channel swapping is also very good, no waiting an eternity for it to catch up and switch over to the channel selected.
I can also power this from the monitor with the included lead making this such a simple thing to setup with no trailing leads all over the place.
Connected to this is a Blu-ray player and Xbox and a streaming device, all of them work flawlessly through this with no issues at all.
Altogether this is a really nice switch, yes it is a little more expensive than some other switches, but when you see and feel this, you will know you are getting value for money, with no loss in picture quality, that remains as vibrant and sharp as if I were plugged directly into the port itself.
