Money well spent.
I purchased a new OEM bumper for my MK7 Golf R and had a body shop paint it so I could save the money and make sure the install was perfect doing it myself. I didn’t know the bumper from the factory didn’t already come with the radar holes in it. On the back of the bumper it has stamped locations for them. So after some research I found this tool to save time and money doing it myself. I was super afraid of destroying a brand new freshly painted bumper, so I practiced on the old damaged number first. Tip #1. Grease everything on this tool. The bolt, the threads, the cutting points. Everything ! Just smother it all in lithium grease. Then it pushes through the bumper with complete ease and cuts a perfect size hole where you want it. – I figured out this trick after a few trial runs. Being a garage mechanic, I know grease never hurts anything- so boom. It went from not the greatest hole being cut, to precisely perfect. Money and time well spent.

Complete instructions are provided with the set, but use is very straightforward and it works the same as a standard knock-out hole punch. The overall quality of the steel seems to be decent and the punch pieces are clearly marked with the sizes. The set is nicely organized in a plastic storage case.
The main advantages of this set is that it has a wide range of punch sizes to make large diameter holes very neatly, without damaging the mounting surface or paint. If you try to use a hole saw or unibit drill for example, most likely you won’t have the appropriate size – it may be a bit too large or small, which will lead to having too much slop or play when mounting the sensor. Also, using those tools will likely lead to a rough surface cut or even damage / jagged edges or burrs to the hole. Having the perfect sized punch to make a neat and clean burr-free hole that is the perfect size is a huge advantage of this set.
I think that this is a valuable set of hole punches to have for not only for making mounting holes for sensors, but also for making neat and clean holes in plastic, vinyl, rubber, or thin metal for other applications.
