Great interactive telephone for GenX/Millennial parents teaching your kid about actual telephones!
This toy was a nice surprise. I mean that in a great way because it’s easy to underestimate this toy by appearances. It’s plastic like all the rest, but it has the perfect mix between form and function. There are three modes for music, sounds, and numbers/letters, which each key then plays a different song on each function of the dial, so it’s a lot of variables. Mostly, wheels on the bus goes round and round style songs or ABC’s, etc. The tokens all play a message when they get put in up top like a payphone, so for example, the police officer says, “This is the police, how can I help you?” Or, a bus driver, or teacher, delivery driver, etc. The entire time, everything lights up in multiple colors for interactions. The final is the intercom paging system that links with the phone and the speaker on the main telephone terminal. You can talk to the telephone wirelessly from the base station, vice versa from the phone, so it’s essentially a two-way walkie-talkie. Needless to say, my daughter loves it. It’s good quality too, so I definitely wouldn’t pass this up for your kid. My daughter is 18 months old, and she loves it, so I hope this review helps you.

This is a really cute take on a toddler telephone toy. The little telephone booth design immediately makes it more interesting than a basic toy phone, and there are enough buttons, sounds, lights, and other things to interact with that my son spent quite a while exploring everything before even figuring out all the different modes.
There are three main modes for numbers, music, and animals. I like that the same buttons do different things depending on which mode is selected because it adds some variety without covering the toy in an overwhelming number of controls. The dial is also simple enough that a toddler can eventually figure out how to switch between them without help.
The voice repeat feature has been especially entertaining. You press the illuminated button, say something, and it’ll repeat up to about 10 seconds back. Of course this quickly turns into making silly noises just to hear them repeated, but that’s half the fun. It’s also a clever way to encourage kids who are learning to talk to experiment with words and sounds.
The colorful character coins are another nice addition. Dropping them into the booth triggers different sounds and gives kids another activity besides pressing buttons. They’re based around familiar jobs like firefighters, doctors, police officers, bus drivers, and delivery workers, so there’s plenty of opportunity for pretend play as they get a little older. Putting the coins into the slot is also good practice for those little hands.
I was surprised by how much actual pretend play you can get out of it. The handset isn’t just there for decoration, so kids can pick it up and pretend they’re answering calls or talking with someone. It’s particularly funny watching siblings or a parent and toddler have completely nonsense “phone conversations” back and forth.
The combination of activities also gives this a pretty good age range. A younger toddler can mostly enjoy the lights, music, animal noises, buttons, and dropping coins, while an older toddler can start understanding the numbers and getting more creative with the telephone and role-playing features. That should help keep it interesting longer than a toy that only plays a few prerecorded songs.
At $39.99, it’s not the cheapest toddler toy, but there’s enough going on here that I think the price is reasonable. It’s colorful, interactive, educational without feeling like a lesson, and most importantly it’s actually fun. The voice repeating alone has gotten plenty of laughs, while all the other activities give my son something new to mess with once the novelty of hearing himself wears off.
Daughter LOVES this!
This was one of those I was expecting my daughter to play for a few hours before getting bored, but man was I wrong! She absolutely LOVES this thing!
I figured it would be similar to those sound and music toys for toddlers where you press buttons, but really what sets it apart is the audio playback and phone features. These really make it most interesting for older kids, probably 3-5 years, but if you get this for a younger kid I’d hold onto it until theyre older.
The phone part turns it into a walky talky and my daughter likes role playing with it: “Hi dad it’s me, are you still at work? Can you get groceries?” But her favorite feature is the audio playback, which records your voice and then plays it back after a few seconds. She sometimes sneaks a recording of us and thinks it’s hilarious when it gets played back unexpectedly.
This is the only toy I can remember in recent memory, aside from her duplo, that she can play for hours on end without losing interest.
This toy is pretty cute. There’s so many activities with it that I don’t think my kiddo will get bored. One temporary concern that I had was whether the phone would get pushed over when a child is pressing buttons. I found that the buttons easily push without knocking the phone over. The phone tips just a tiny bit, but doesn’t topple. The phone has a pretty steady base.
There are three different modes, which are discovered by turning the dial at the top. There’s animal, number, and music modes. The buttons on the phone respond to whatever mode is currently being used.
Somewhere, during my testing, I got some rasping in the handset, I said ‘hi,’ and heard my voice/word played back. I guess that feature can last 10 seconds, but I didn’t test that far. The string that hooks the handset to the phone is WAY too short to be usable. I left the string off. Kids want to drag toys around that are hooked together with those strings. The strings easily pull loose. Those strings are a huge pain.
There are five coins. When inserted in the slot, the coin falls through the phone down into a ‘change return’ spot. When the coin is inserted a voice will play, different professional positions such as fireman, police, etc.
The phone is highly interactive so there will be a learning curve for young kiddos. My 16 month kiddo normally doesn’t put everything in his mouth, but twice lately I discovered him putting a highly perforated jingly ball in his mouth. I put the balls up. The five coins that come with this phone I placed in a sealed container. These coins would be a choking hazard for 1-2 year olds if they’re not supervised with the coins. There’s no perforations to allow passage of air through the coins, if swallowed. I think they are of a size that could get swallowed.
The phone takes 3 AA batteries, the handset takes 2 AAA batteries. I don’t know whether the pieces automatically turn off over time, if the child stops play. The phone is highly colorful with great colors that work together. It’s worth the price.
Fun interactive toy
One of my nephews has been playing with this musical phone constantly and loves trying out the different sound modes. The colorful buttons keep him entertained and engaged for quite a while.
What I like
The coin drop feature adds a playful element that helps keep toddlers focused on the activity. The volume level stays at a reasonable pitch which is nice for household peace.
What I don’t like
The plastic buttons feel a bit stiff for smaller fingers to press down easily. Also the voice repeat feature sometimes picks up background noise and gets confused.
This toy has many features that will keep a child entertained. There are 5 small tokens with different characters (policeman, doctor, fireman, pizza deliverer and bus driver) depicted on them – when placed in the slot, the toy recognizes the token and plays a short introduction regarding the character. The number function repeats the number pushed, and there is a hotline list of number sequences that can be pressed to “call” and receive a related messsage. The animal function plays an animal noise when pressed (duck, dog, cat, pig, horse, etc). Then the music plays various music tunes such as BINGO, Wheels on the Bus, Old MacDonald, ABCs, Jingle Bells, Bah Bah Black Sheep and more.
There is also a record feature where you can record a message up to 10 seconds and it will play it back for you 1 time. And finally, there is an intercom feature that works with the phone receiver.
There is an on/off function for both the main toy and the receiver, along with 2 volume settings. The switches are easily accessible, so I think a young toddler could control on their own.
The only negative point is the cord/string on the phone is quite short. The quick release tab disconnects easily, so I would use it without the cord – just treat it as wireless!
All in all – the phone is sure to keep a young one busy with all the numerous interaction features!

I have several grandkids, of varying ages, and I knew the 3-year-old would love this interactive telephone booth.
This is colorful to attract a child’s immediate attention and made of hard plastic that should be resistant to child damage, ha.

Like many kids, after the novelty of a toy wears off, they may lost all interest in a particular toy, but not in this case. She still returns to it, especially if someone has left the house so she can pretend to talk to them.
