Great headphones. Lightweight, fit well and comfortable. They are quick and easy to connect to your phone or iPad. Sound quality and clarity is great. Listen to music, books, podcasts and still hear some ambient sounds. If you’re not an audiophile that needs professional quality sound detail, these are all you need.
I previously purchased the Monodeal DG06 model of bone-conduction earphones. I like the DG06 very much. This review will be a little more detailed.
Pros:
1- The DV68 model improves the sound quality over the DG06. Both music and podcasts sound better to me.
2- The earphones look sleeker. The design has been updated and modernized. It included a blinking RGB LED light. (More on that below!)
3- Battery life seems very good. I’ve used the earphones 4 or 5 times while walking for 90 minutes or more. I’ve not had to recharge them, yet. I don’t know if the DV68 battery life is better than the DG06 as both have lasted for several hours without recharging.
4- The product packaging is very nice as you can see in photo 1.
5- I was surprised to find a carrying pouch for the earphones was included in the packaging.
6- The included earplugs are necessary if there is ambient noise. With the earplugs, the bone-conduction works really well in a noisy environment such as traffic. In a quiet environment, the earplugs are not needed.
7- The charging cable is included.
8- The included instruction manual, though small, contains all the information needed to operate the earphones. It is easy to understand.
9- The function buttons work well. I like the button placement on the DV68 better than on the DG06.
10- Using the earphones to talk on my phone was an excellent experience. I could hear the other people very well and no one complained that they couldn’t hear me.
11- Bluetooth connects easily to my devices. These earphones connect to two devices at a time. This allows me to listen to my tablet and accept calls on my phone.
Cons
1- The blinking RGB light. I really don’t like devices that blink while I’m wearing them. The user manual has instructions for turning off the light. I simply turn off the light each time I wear the earphones. Problem solved.
2- I’m not a fan of proprietary charging cables. The DG06 charged with a USB-C cable. The DV68 has a proprietary cable as seen in photos 3 and 4. The magnet to hold the charger to the earphones is strong and I had no problem with the initial charge of the earphones. The cables is well made so it should last. I simply prefer USB-C charging. This is not a big deal.
3- The DV68 doesn’t fit as tightly on my head as the DG06 model. The DG06 works better for me when there is a slight amount of ambient sound, and I don’t use earplugs. The earplugs are much more needed with the DV68 than the DG06.
Overall, I love these earphones. They work really well for me when walking or when I want to listen to something without bothering the people around me. I feel that Monodeal Bone-Conduction earphones are a great buy.
