I bought this Minipix Digital Keychain Camera in pink, and it’s such a fun little gadget. The compact size makes it easy to carry on a backpack, keychain, or in a pocket, so it’s always ready to capture memories. It’s lightweight, simple to use, and perfect for kids, teens, or anyone who wants a cute portable camera. The picture and video quality are surprisingly good for such a small camera, and I like that it comes with an 8GB SD card so it’s ready to use right out of the box. The USB-C rechargeable battery is also very convenient since there’s no need to keep buying batteries. Overall, this is an adorable little camera that makes a great gift and is perfect for capturing everyday moments in a fun and easy way.
So far, so good
This definitely isn’t for little kids. Don’t thin that just because it’s a mini version that it’s meant for tiny hands. The buttons are a little complicated and not necessarily intuitive. And it actually seems to take better pics than most digital cameras for kids. You’ll need to get a micro SD card for memory, but it can hold some pics and video without it. Comes with a wrist strap and a metal clip for your keys, but at this price, a nice little carrying case would’ve been good – but that wasn’t included. Does come with a charger and instructions. What i was most impressed with was that it also takes video WITH audio. There is an option to take video with the microphone turned off, but that’s a wasted button push, bc who would want to do that? You can flip easily back and forth between pics and video and do playback on the little screen. I haven’t downloaded it yet bc i don’t have an extra micro SD card and there was no cable to connect the camera to your phone, just a charger than can probably also be used to download the images to your computer. But I’m not 100% sure on that. Sometimes charging ports can’t be also used for downloading. I’m still giving it five stars overall bc it seems to be well made and can do pics as well as video, but I’ll update once I get the images downloaded, if applicable.
Overall, a great buy for the price. Will be fun to use!
Your Kids Want This Camera
More than you know! This toy was a way bigger hit than I anticipated. All three of my kids are fighting over Tiny Cam. I had asked my oldest if she wanted another camera because she lost interest in the one she has and she said no, but now, knowing how adorably tiny it is, she wants one. I gave this to my middle child who likes to play spy and has a bigger interest in photography. She has thoroughly documented us all. And now of course my 3 year old keeps “borrowing” it because she loves it. So I will be buying more. The pic quality is about what you’d expect on such a thumbelina cam, maybe slightly better. You can add four color filters, take pics and video and play them back. But the real appeal here is attaching it to your backpack and being able to act out your Harriet the Spy dreams. Looks like an innocuous Keychain but BAM. It actually functions. It has been intuitive to learn the buttons and it charges quickly. You can transfer the photos after plugging it into your computer. Easy easy and enviably cute. I imagine this would make a delightful stocking stuffer. Please make in other colors so I don’t have three tiny identical cameras floating about my house.

You do not choose a camera this tiny for great photos. You choose it because it is simple, light, and convenient. Also, I did not change the date stamp until after I took the test photos, so ignore the date. It was very easy to change it.

I bought this as a gift for my niece, but after spending some time with it, I might end up ordering another one for myself. It’s one of those products that’s just plain fun to use. Every time I pulled it out, people wanted to know what it was, so it’s definitely a conversation starter.
For something this small, it’s surprisingly capable. The camera is incredibly compact, easily fitting in the palm of your hand, yet it still has a screen on the back for reviewing photos and navigating the menus. It also comes with an SD card and charges via USB-C, so you can start using it right out of the box without buying extra accessories.
One thing to know is that the flash is always enabled when taking photos. At first I thought it was odd, but it actually helps quite a bit indoors since this is such a tiny sensor. There are also several built-in color filters and effects. I played around with them, but I personally think the camera looks best in the standard color mode or black and white. Those two settings give the nicest results and preserve the fun point-and-shoot aesthetic.
I’m actually a professional photographer, so I wasn’t expecting DSLR or mirrorless quality from something this size. That’s not the point of this camera. This itsy bitsy pink camera looks like a purse decoration, and it is in fact much smaller than most of the little mascots you see dangling from everyone’s backpacks these days. The “awww!” factor is off the charts. Is it a high quality camera? No. Do I care at all? No. It is adorable, and it takes pictures (also video and audio recordings!), and that is enough. When people see that it is a working camera they are surprised and delighted. The irony is that in spite of the tiny sensor and low photo quality, a camera this unusual lets you get the most authentic expressions from your subjects. I know from having occasionally used vintage photo equipment that when people are enchanted with the camera you are using, they forget all about self-consciousness, silly posing, or any other typical responses to having their picture taken. Instead you get real expressions of genuine delight. The camera comes with a wrist strap, chain with a clip, and a micro SD card—everything you need to get started. It’s marketed for kids but will appeal to people of any age.
