Brilliant first camera with a fun screen-free feel
I really like the idea behind this camera because it keeps things simple and makes photography feel a bit more intentional. The screen-free design means I’m not constantly checking every shot, and for a child or beginner that actually feels like a big plus because it encourages proper framing and just enjoying taking pictures. It’s small, lightweight and easy to hold, the buttons are straightforward, and the built-in filters are a nice extra too, especially the Retro and Black & White modes which give photos a fun old-school look. I also like that it comes with an 8GB memory card and is easy to transfer photos over once you’re done shooting. The picture quality sounds basic rather than amazing, but still clear and perfectly good for everyday use, and that feels fair for this type of camera. For me, this looks like a great first camera for kids, or for anyone who wants a simple little point-and-shoot without the usual phone distractions.

Despite its simplicity, the 12MP images it produces are surprisingly decent, especially for casual use.
The camera itself is lightweight and comfortable to hold, making it easy to carry around for long periods. Battery life is another strong point, lasting well on a single charge, and the inclusion of USB-C charging keeps things modern and convenient. Love this! It’s a cute little camera, it feels very light like a play camera, but the image quality is just about the same as my iPhone.

Like it so far!! Definitely think it does better in well lit scenarios, some pics look more like disposable than others (included a dump for yall to enjoy). Low light pictures have a distinct blue hue to them, but the price is right.
Your expectations will determine whether you think this is a good camera or not. If you don’t mind/are wanting pictures that look similar to those taken years ago with a disposable camera, you’ll be happy. They are “acceptable” quality. If you are expecting pictures on par with a good quality modern digital camera, you will be highly disappointed. I actually ordered 3 different models of screenless digital cameras, including Camp Snap, to pick the best one for my daughter to take to camp and found this one to take the best quality pictures (and it was the cheapest of the 3!)
Love this camera. I got it for my kid to take to summer camp. I purchased my older child the CampSnap brand several years ago when it was the only game in town and this one takes better photos. The Maxmango photos are more sharp and vibrant. The lens looks more robust than the CampSnap so maybe that’s the difference. I purchased this because the shipping was faster and I needed it in a hurry but I am glad I did. Definitely recommend.

That being said, the quality of the photos is similar to a disposable camera giving them a bit more of a retro feel. It’s pretty small so it’s easy to carry around plus it comes with a neck strap. The guide is easy and walks you through everything but it really is easy as point and click. It comes with cables to hook up to your computer and an adapter for your phone/ macbook making it even easier to share pictures
great first camera
My nephew is turning 12 years old next month and as far as my brother/ his father has told me he is showing a big interest in photography therefore natural lay I thought that thiscamera would be very good for him. The difference between other cameras and this one is that this one does not feature any screens so that you cannot see any photos that you have just taken straight away on the screen of the digital camera, if you want to see the pictures you have to take them download them to the computer or laptop and then you can see the quality of the pictures. This routines seem to be perfect for starting photographers and adds a bit of something from the old style of doing photography where you had to take the photos and you wouldn’t know the end result until you would develop the film. Other than that the camera is pretty much as any other digital one it features 8Gb memory card that allows to store and transfer the photos from camera to other devices, but there is also an USB cable which allows for even fast start transfer. Call me old fashion but I do judge book by its cover and here I can say that the cover was really good which tells me that the quality of the camera itself is also really good. Using the camera is also quite easy like just like any other digital camera point towards the objec, select the best angle and press the button.
I’m sure this camera will be a perfect for my nephew to develop his photography skills.

The Maxmango D53 landed on the hall carpet, just as boots and the dog lead were being hunted down for a quick dash to our local beach. With no rear screen at all, the body stays wonderfully slim, about the size of my old wallet and lighter than the flask that lives in my rucksack.
I handed it to my 10 year old while the collie chased gulls and I wrestled with my wee lad’s soggy kite string. She clicked away without once complaining about menus or glare, because there’s nothing to fiddle with, you simply point and press. The built-in colour filters kept her amused for ages, and the sepia setting made Dad’s grey hair look almost artistic. The battery meter still showed full after an hour of beach madness, which surprised me given the sea spray and cold wind.
The quality of the images back on the laptop was sharp, with punchy colours, and there were no fingerprints on a screen because there isn’t one to smudge. It feels sturdy enough for rough family days out, yet simple enough that I can concentrate on the moment rather than the settings. Terrific value for what you get, and I’m properly chuffed to have something the kids can’t accidentally set to Mandarin again.
Really great product thus far. I’ve had it for about two months now and it’s just as described, easy to use, and a fun conversation started with friends. Picture quality is just the same as a Kodak or Fujifilm camera from the early 2000s. Pictures can come out really great, or dark, or blurry. Definitely depends on lighting and if the camera taker is standing still. But overall a valuable purchase in my book.
