Easy-to-Use Touchscreen Toaster with Great Defrost and Timer Controls
The Keenstone Smart Touch Screen Toaster 2 Slice is a great value. The digital display is easy to read and navigate once you get used to how it operates—you have to lower the lever first before selecting your settings, but it updates quickly. The lever moves smoothly, and the release is gentle, so the toast never pops out onto the counter.
We were skeptical about how well the defrost function would work, but it came out great. It toasted the bread evenly overall, though when using defrost, the top of the slice came out slightly darker than the bottom. Dropping down to the next lower setting solved that and produced perfect results. If you need a quick adjustment, the option to add or subtract 10 seconds is very handy, as is the reheat button if you get distracted while making breakfast.
We regularly use keto bread, which normally gets dried out in other toasters, but this one makes perfect toast every time. The slots are wide enough to fit thicker-sliced artisan bread to some extent, though you will want to check the slice size to be sure. The slot opening is 1.5″ wide. We haven’t tried bagels yet, but given how well it handles everything else, we are confident they will turn out fine.
The outer housing does get warm during use, but it cools off quickly, and there was very little initial odor or smoke on the first few uses. Cleanup is straightforward, though pulling out the crumb tray can be slightly messy at first since it is on the same side as the power cord. With a little practice, it gets easier to remove without much maneuvering.
Love this toaster!
I honestly love everything about this toaster. It looks super cool on the counter, feels really well made, and most importantly, it actually toasts beautifully. The six browning levels make it easy to get exactly the level of toast you like.
We eat a LOT of bagels in this house, so the extra-wide 1.5-inch slots are perfect for us. They easily accommodate bagels and thicker slices of bread without having to wrestle them into the toaster. I also really like the touch-screen controls – they give this toaster a surprisingly fancy feel. I feel just a little bougie every time I use it. The retro/modern design is really attractive, too. It’s one of those appliances that actually looks nice enough to leave sitting on the counter instead of hiding it in a cabinet.
At $39.99, I think this is an excellent value. It hits a home run in both form and function, and I’m genuinely thrilled with it. Highly recommend!
An ode to the toast I like the mos
Keenstone Smart Touch Screen Toaster (ASIN B0H9RK37Y1) earns five stars from me because great toast is only achieved by a precision toaster like this one.
This black retro wide slot stainless steel toaster with six browning levels, reheat and defrost works for toasting bagels and bread. It has a removable crumb tray.
I love the touchscreen interface that allows you to touch a button to select your preferred browning level, and the precision timer that allows you to add or subtract toasting time in 10 second increments until your toast reaches perfection.
This is toast nirvana, the likes of which I’ve heretofore not experienced. And here’s the thing, when carbs are precious to you like they are to me, toast perfection counts big time! I can’t waste a single carb, and this toaster makes me very satisfied.

Nice toaster with touch sensitive screen that works well
Our old toaster wasn’t doing it’s job anymore. I thought the Keenstone Smart Touch Toaster looked cool so I ordered it as a replacement.
The toaster has a definite retro feel and looks pretty cool. It has a rounded design and the knob just looks like it came off of a toaster from the 60s. The unit feels solid even though the outer shell is plastic. The slots are wide enough for a NY size bagel to fit with no issues.
I have only used the Bagel and Toast settings as I generally don’t reheat or defrost breads. There are six toast settings and you have to push the toast down before selecting your toast level. Now, the first thing you are going to want to do is run a toast cycle once or twice because, when I first toasted, there was a smell like a chemical coating burning off. The settings are also a slight bit off on the darker side so you are going to want to go a shade lighter on the touchpad then you really want. I really like that there is a digital display that counts down to when your toast is ready. It takes away the feeling of waiting and not knowing when your toast will be done, LOL. The bagel setting is awesome and keeps a toasted bagel with a still chewy inside……key for us NYers!
I am very happy with this toaster. It works well, looks great on the counter and doesn’t take up a lot of room and the wide slots make it very versatile. I wish that the toast settings were more accurate, but it’s an easy fix. At $40, it is a bit pricey for just a toaster (I got my mother a toaster oven with air frying function for only $10 more), but the retro appliances seem to be going for higher prices across the board. If you are looking for a retro toaster that works well, this is a good option.
