Great Organization with Some Added Protectio
The product notice does a good job of explaining what “fireproof” means here. This isn’t a fireproof safe. It is designed to resist flames and slow the spread of fire during the early stages of an incident and isn’t intended for prolonged or direct flame exposure. That’s a reasonable added layer of protection, but something buyers should understand.
The description clearly calls this a “binder,” although the pictures gave me the impression of something closer to a structured, soft-sided briefcase. It really is more binder than briefcase. The covers have some structure but can still be bent, and the interior divider for storing cards and drives is also very flexible. Not necessarily a positive or negative—just worth knowing because I think the pictures make it appear more rigid than it is.
Where this really shines for me is organization. I love the binder concept and the 10 removable sleeves. I can dedicate sleeves to different types of documents or different family members, keeping everyone’s important paperwork together but still separated and easy to find. There are also plenty of smaller pockets and slots for passports, cards, USB drives, pens, etc.
The combination lock is fairly easy to set, although you’ll need a safety pin or something similar for the reset hole. Actually locking it was frustrating at first. Both zipper pulls need to go into the lock at the same time, and when you press the release button, they both pop back out. Some of that may have been user error because once I got the hang of it, I could lock it pretty easily.
The exterior material feels a little like plastic and leather got together and had a baby. I didn’t attempt to cut it, so I could absolutely be underestimating its durability, but I view the lock more as a deterrent for nosy kids, house sitters, or casual snooping than serious theft protection.
For my purposes—organizing important documents in one place while adding a reasonable extra measure of protection—this absolutely meets the test. I went back and forth between 4 and 5 stars because of the lock, but I love the organizational benefits enough to round up. Overall, I’m very happy with it.
