Durable Waste-Reducing Hay Feeder for Barn and Pasture
Solid steel construction keeps thirty-five gallons of forage off muddy ground. The bar spacing prevents livestock from pulling out large clumps, cutting down on trampled waste. Welds along the wire rack feel thick and burr-free, while the powder-coat finish resists scrape marks from rough horns and metal tools. Bolts line up straight during assembly with standard hand wrenches. The lower catch trough saves loose grain effectively. Simple, rigid build that handles daily pen abuse without wobbling.
This came with minimal instructions so look at the pics and figure it out is kind of the way to go. It is pretty thin sheet metal so only 4 star rating but once put together it is pretty sturdy. Being so light it could get moved around pretty easily by your small livestock if not secured to the ground with stakes or something.
Strong build with good waste reduction desig
This hay feeder feels very sturdy and clearly built for outdoor livestock use. The metal construction is thick and holds up well under weight, even when fully loaded with hay.
The design helps reduce waste by keeping hay contained rather than letting it scatter on the ground, which is a big improvement over basic feeding setups. It’s large enough for multiple small animals like goats or sheep to access comfortably.
It’s heavy-duty, so once placed, it’s not something you’ll move around frequently. But that also adds to its stability in outdoor conditions. Overall, it feels like a practical and durable farm upgrade.
Small, but acceptable size for smaller farm animals
Assembled easily and was perfect for my pen of small goats. It would be acceptable for small goats, sheep and probably even miniature ponies. The price was fair and the quality is decent. As for durability, that would take time and use to have a better opinion. It holds enough hay to feed my 4 goats.
