As like others, I didn’t get a DVD burner with my laptop. I bought this and it fits the bill perfectly. I’d had a problem with a different brand, so I was wary. Didn’t have to be. This thing worked right out of the box. Just basically plug it in and go. Have burned some discs already and watched some. The only thing I wish ( and this is for all brand burners) is that the cord was a little bit longer. I’ll just use an extension cable with it if I need to.
Since new computers don’t have internal drives anymore, I got this for my girlfriends newish Surface.
Small, lightweight, inexpensive and works as it should. Can be stored in her laptop case easily.
This plug & play drive reads my medical X-Ray CDs just fine! The double USB cable for either USB or USB-C is very handy and the fact that it’s built-in means it can’t get lost. The printed instructions to access the drive didn’t seem to apply to my Windows PC, but it was a no-brainer to click on Drive:E when it popped up in my system. I like the crisp white color a lot. Nifty unit and affordable price.
DVDs did not work. I researched troubleshooting online and discovered that I needed to download a video player which I did. I inserted a DVD and nothing happened. I contacted the seller and was told to try another DVD. This one worked. The first DVD was defective. So glad I ordered this external DVD player as my upgrade to Windows 11 caused my internal DVD player to not work.
