One week in and our plants are looking good. We’re notoriously forgetful waterers in our house, and this was a perfect solve. It was easy to program and seems to be running on schedule. I do wish they provided some more direction on the watering output / quantity and recommended use so I had a better sense of how often to set the timer for. Instead I guessed and am adjusting as needed.

The watering machine is great for people like me who travel a lot but want to keep plants alive.
It can water a lot of plants. However, keep in mind all the plants will be on the same watering schedule. If you have different types of plants,
I keep it indoors, and give my plants artificial light.
It has a battery, so it does not need to be plugged in, but it makes more sense to me to just leave it plugged in and let it do the watering even when I am home.
The hose is very hard to connect with the watering spikes. You can’t get a good grip because they bend. Would be impossible to use for someone with arthritis.
The manual watering button is problematic, I turn it on, it starts watering and I don’t see a way to make it stop, so it makes a mess.
All the plants will be on the same watering schedule. So you may need more than one device if you have different types of plants.

This is how This Automatic Plant Watering System Works…
This device automatically waters your plants from a bucket, jug, vase, or other water container.
The kit includes a long piece of tubing. You just cut the length you need, in any number of piece you needs (maximum of 15 drippers).
Place the filter in your container of water > connect a piece of tubing to the IN port > Set amount of drips you want (example you might want the water to drip for 30 minutes every 3 days) > Connect tubing from the OUT port to your plants > connect the amount of tubing connectors you need (use the included T-connectors to split the water line) > push the L-shaped stakes into the soil near each plant. These stakes slowly drip water into each plant pot (the stakes don’t have a hole, they have a groove in the side. This limits the drip flow).
The options you can set for the timer:
– The current time
– What time watering starts
– How often it waters
– How long it waters
For example, you could set it to water every 3 days at 7:00 AM for 20 seconds.
The rechargeable battery should be fine for short trips. For longer periods, it’s best to leave the unit plugged into USB power. Make sure your water container holds enough water for the entire time you’ll be away.
Run a few test cycles to make sure each plant gets the right amount of water you need. You might also experiment whether the hose is higher or lowerer than the timer. This can help let some plants water more than other plant pots, or have more than one dropper per plant pot.
The timer has a battery, but you could keep it plugged in if you want it to run over a longer term. The same with the water amount. You’ll need a bigger bucket for a long term water supply than a glass of water.
I got this because I have a lot of plants, and I do not always remember who wants water when. Some of them are dramatic. Some are fine. Some look fine until suddenly they are not fine at all.
This little watering system has been such a nice help. I set it up with a group of plants that tend to dry out faster, and it’s already making me feel less like I’m walking around with a watering can trying to guess who is thirsty. It drips right where I need it to, and I like that I can adjust the timing instead of just hoping for the best.
The setup takes a little patience. Not hard, just fiddly in the way any little tubing system is fiddly. You have to cut the lines, place the emitters, and think through where your plants are sitting. I moved mine around a couple times before I was happy with it. Very normal plant-person nonsense.
The display is nice and easy to read, which I appreciate. I do not need one more app for one more thing in my house. Being able to program it right on the unit is much better. The manual watering button is great too, especially when a plant looks a little sad and you want to give it a quick drink without messing up the schedule.
This would be great if you travel, but honestly I like it for regular life too. Work gets busy, weekends get full, and suddenly the plants in the corner are giving you that crispy little guilt trip. This takes some of that off my plate.
I’m not using it for every plant I own, because different plants need different things. But for a grouped setup, like a shelf, plant corner, porch plants, or a few thirsty indoor pots, it’s really useful.
