No more batteries to buy
I appreciate that this charges with USB. My old can opener always needed batteries and they died often. Just charged this once and used it for several weeks. Being cordless means I can use it even out on the patio. Works as expected.

These types of can openers are so cool.
They just go around by themselves on the top of the cans & make an ultra clean cut & then stop by themselves.
I just like to watch it propel itself all the way round the top of a can.
Sometimes with slightly dented cans it may have a little trouble cutting it the first time.
Usually though you can run it around another time or so & it will finally cut it completely.
Once cut, you just sort of pry up on the front to grab the can top & it will just easily pry it right off.
Always a nice smooth clean cut with this too.
Very nice to be able to just recharge it. It runs a LONG time on a charge though.
The wall mount is cool too.

I have always been a manual can opener guy. For speed and easily stored convenience. This can opener has changed my views on that. It comes with a storing holder that I attached to the inside of a cabinet door so it is easily available where I need it, it has simple set on the can and push a button to go. I let it run on its own until it finishes, the top pulls off easily and leaves a perfectly clean cut on the side of the can. Simple opener that does the job right. My manual can opener was hard on the paper labels on the sides of the can and would tear off pieces off that I had to clean off so it wouldn’t contaminate the foods inside. Not a problem with this automatic opener at all!
This took a couple of practices to get the hang of it for me, but then it was fine. Unlike other can openers, you have to use the “hook” on the edge of the can opener to remove the lid. I couldn’t usually see that it worked so that was part of my problem. At times it vibrated a little bit, but after a couple of tries I became more sure of it and it worked very nicely. It was charged when it arrived. It is small in size, about the size of a soda can for the opener itself. After getting more comfortable with it I would recommend it. It would be handy not only at home but also for carrying for lunch or while traveling.
The Electric Can Opener Has Come a Long Way!
While an electric can opener is not a “new” idea, I remember my mom having one in her kitchen — avocado green, sitting on the counter and plugged into a wall socket. I remember opening cans of cat food by attaching the can, pressing down a handle, and watching the can whir around. We thought this was the height of convenience, and in the 1960s it really was!
Today there are all kinds of can openers. I have a manual type that works just fine, but it does require a certain amount of hand and grip strength. This WHIRRA (cute name!) rechargeable electric can opener requires very little effort to operate, making it an especially nice option for anyone with weaker hands.
What impressed me even more, though, is the way it opens the can. Both the lid and the rim of the can are left without those dangerously sharp edges you get with a traditional can opener. That’s a big improvement in my book and makes handling the opened can and lid much safer.
Operation couldn’t be much easier. Just position the WHIRRA on top of the can and press the button. It automatically advances around the rim. When it finishes, the lid may come away with the magnet. If the lid doesn’t come off, it is easily lifted using the little screwdriver-like lip on the end of the device.
The WHIRRA also comes with a mounting plate and screws if you want to store it on a wall, along with a USB-C charging cable. Since I have a tile backsplash and don’t want to drill into it, I’m simply going to keep mine in a utensil drawer where it will be handy.
If you’re shopping for a can opener, the WHIRRA is well worth considering. It combines the convenience of those old countertop electric can openers with a compact, cordless design — and, best of all, no more wrestling with a manual opener or dealing with razor-sharp can edges.
Auto Lid Removing and Easy to Use
This auto can-opener is drawer kept or wall-mounted. USB rechargeable electric can opener is very convenient and works fairly well. I did have a few can lids that just would not pop off. The opener has an auto-stop feature that is so very useful. It opens cans smoothly and stops automatically when finished. Mounting it on the wall keeps it handy without taking up valuable counter or drawer space. It’s simple to operate and requires very little effort, making it especially useful for anyone who has difficulty using a manual can opener. Overall, a practical and useful addition to the kitchen. Priced very reasonably. Holds charge for a long period. Knocked off a star for the couple of cans that failed to open easily.
So Much Easier Than a Traditional Can Opene
This is one of those gadgets that makes you wonder why can openers haven’t always worked this way. The one-touch operation makes opening cans incredibly easy, and the automatic stop means you don’t have to stand there holding a button the entire time.
I really like the wall-mounted design too. It keeps the opener out of the way but still right where you need it. The USB rechargeable battery is another nice feature—no messing around with disposable batteries.
The smooth-edge cutting is a great touch, and the magnetic lid lifter makes it easy to remove the lid without having to pry it out with your fingers.
Overall, it’s simple to use, convenient, and takes almost all the effort out of opening cans. Definitely a nice upgrade from the old manual can opener.
Good help for weak hands
I bought this for my mother who has arthritis. She can now open cans by herself with one press. The can turns automatically and stops when done. No more struggling with manual openers or asking neighbors for help. Very pleased.
