Product description

For the life of me, I don’t know why GM doesn’t offer the option to disable this stupid a$$ feature in the software! So incredibly assumptive of them that everyone is stuck in bumper to bumper traffic where this is a benefit. Rant over.
Sooo… I first want to say that it works perfectly. It remembers the setting you last had it in. Perfect. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the installation is a bit of a pain. Over the years I’ve torn into numerous vehicle interior replacing radios and other custom things. But the modern builds are so stinking tight if they’ve never been apart that you swear you’re going to break something…even with the appropriate removal tools. (Which I have) I guess this is probably the only way to do this sort of thing without plugging in an OBDII module or perhaps a tune, but jeeze!
Sorry, I didn’t take any photos along the way, but the ones on the product page are pretty much what I was seeing and experiencing. The only thing missing was the occasional finger pinch followed by swear word and then a savage “YANK” on certain panels. When some of those gave, I thought sure I’d be buying a new one, but nope…it all went back together just fine.
Do I recommend this? Sure. Just be sure to allow yourself some time to work your way through the process and have some of the plastic pry tools so you don’t mar up anything.
