A Simple 5 min Install Fix for the Annoying Auto Start-Stop Feature
I picked this up for my Ford F-150 because I really don’t like the automatic start-stop feature. Having the truck shut the engine off every time I come to a stop and then restart when I take my foot off the brake gets old pretty quickly.
This eliminator is a simple solution. Once installed, it remembers the setting and keeps the auto start-stop feature disabled instead of having to turn it off manually every time I start the truck.
Installation was straightforward, and I like that it’s designed specifically for the 2021–2026 Ford F-150. Once it’s in place, you don’t really have to think about it anymore, which is exactly what I wanted.
It’s especially nice in stop-and-go traffic where the engine would otherwise be constantly shutting off and restarting. The truck drives normally, but I no longer have to remember to push the button every time I get in.
Just make sure you check the compatibility information before ordering. This version is for US and Canadian models and is not compatible with the PowerBoost Hybrid.
Overall, this is one of those inexpensive little upgrades that solves an annoying problem. If you don’t like the auto start-stop feature on your F-150, this makes it much easier to leave it disabled.
Could not believe how easy this was to install.
This was possibly the easiest vehicle modification I have ever done. It took me all of 1 minute to remove the glove box, unplug the ford harness, plug the ford harness into this, then this into the ford wiring socket, and to reinstall the glove box. It was that simple and it just worked. I started my truck and the auto start/stop was instantly disabled and continued to be disabled every time i started my truck after that. The great thing about this adapter is that i can simply push the start/stop button and it will override this and that function will operate just like normal, but I have a feeling I will never turn it back on.
I installed this to preserve the life of the starter on my new truck. Ford claims this method saves gas, i don’t even understand the logic, it has to take as much gas or more to stop the truck, turn off the truck, wait for gas to be applied, then restart the truck and resume normal driving. But even in the event it does save gas it has to be so miniscule that in normal day to day driving you will never notice it. I value the life of my starter more than saved gas, because i know exactly when the starter will malfunction. Right after my warranty expires and they will want and arm and a leg to replace it. NO THANKS.
