Great replacement for cold packs
I did not get these to cool drinks or coffee. I picked them up for use in packing lunches and snacks.
An average cold pack is fine, but when there are several irregularly shaped items, for example an apple, the flat cold pack loses out to these. You can have more cold touching a non-flat surface area. For that, these 1″ cubes far outshine a standard hard plastic cold pack. And they don’t melt like ice which is a plus when it comes to emptying the cooler.
I can’t see the advantage of using 3 different colors for them unless you wanted only 1/3 of the total amount of cubes. then you could take out the third by color.
II really love them for home freezing use. After blanching vegetables in boiling water, you chill them in ice water. Using these I don’t have to keep a freezer full of ice cubes, I just wash and reuse these.
I tested out a package of 24, but I can see that the pack of 400 cubes if you use a lot of ice would be more useful than needing to buy a bag at the supermarket if you needed it.
I personally, do not like the smell of any plastic in my beverages, but these are great for picnic coolers.

No more watered down drinks
I wasn’t expecting reusable ice cubes to be one of those purchases that makes me wonder why I waited so long, but here we are.
What I liked:
They freeze quickly and stay cold long enough for everyday use.
They don’t water down drinks, which is especially nice for iced coffee, soda, tea, and cocktails.
They’re BPA-free and reusable, so I don’t have to keep buying bags of ice or emptying ice trays.
They work great in lunch boxes, coolers, and insulated tumblers.
They rinse clean easily and go right back into the freezer.
The package contains 400 cubes, which is honestly hilarious when you first open it. It looks like you accidentally ordered enough reusable ice for a small sporting event. The upside is you’ll always have plenty ready to go, even if some inevitably disappear into the mysterious void behind the frozen vegetables.
A couple things to know before you buy:
These are designed to keep drinks cool, not freeze warm beverages instantly.
Since they’re reusable, you’ll want to wash them before the first use and occasionally between uses.
They’re larger than crushed ice, so if you have a narrow bottle opening, check the dimensions before purchasing.
After several weeks of use, none have leaked, cracked, or opened. They’ve held up well through repeated freezing and washing.
Bottom line: If you’re tired of watered-down drinks or constantly making ice, these are an inexpensive, practical solution. I bought them on a whim and ended up using them far more than I expected.
Would I buy them again? Absolutely. Although with 400 of them, my great-grandchildren may inherit my supply.
Small, but work fairly well
These ice cubes are a bit smaller than I expected. The cubes freeze quickly because of their small size, but also unfreeze quickly for the same reason. They don’t seem to chill a drink as fast as regular ice cubes, but do a decent job of keeping a drink cool if I use a bunch of them in my drink at once.
The colors are so pretty and make my beverages more whimsical, which I enjoy. I appreciate that they’re BPA-free! I also like that they don’t water down my drinks like regular ice.
Impressive Cooling Performance Without Watering Down Drinks
These reusable ice cubes work great! I ordered the blue and white 24-pack, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it actually comes with three colors: dark blue, light blue, and white. The colors are really pretty and vibrant, and I think they would look nice for a variety of occasions.
The cubes are approximately 1 inch square, and a 24-pack is enough to fill a 24-ounce cup if you pack it all the way to the top. I decided to put these through a little test to see how well they actually work.
I put the cubes in my deep freezer for a couple of hours until they were completely hard. I then put them in an uninsulated plastic cup and filled it with club soda. Our house is currently around 78 degrees because our air conditioning isn’t working properly, so I figured this would be a pretty good test of their cooling ability. I was seriously impressed! The cubes stayed frozen for almost three hours, and the drink remained cold for at least another hour after the cubes had completely melted. It may have stayed cold even longer, but I had to go to bed since I had to work in the morning.
I also really appreciate that these don’t water down your drink as they melt. The cubes are filled with purified water inside rather than melting into the beverage, so you get cold drinks without diluting them. I didn’t notice any plasticky taste or flavor transfer in the club soda, which was another concern I had with reusable ice cubes. I have only used them a few times, but haven’t noticed any leaking as of this point.
The cubes have a slightly textured exterior, but that doesn’t seem to make them difficult to clean. They’re not dishwasher safe, but I don’t consider that much of a drawback because they’re so easy to clean by hand. I simply rinse them with soapy water and let them air dry before putting them back in the freezer.
There are several color options available, including multicolor and white, so you can choose a set that works for different events or occasions. I could especially see the larger sets being useful for parties, weddings, showers, or keeping a punch bowl cold without diluting the punch.
The price seems very reasonable. The 24-pack is currently around $7.99, which works out to approximately 33 cents per cube. There is also a 400-piece pack currently listed for around $47.99, bringing the cost down to about 12 cents per cube. If you’re hosting a large event, that larger package could be a great value, and based on my experience with the 24-piece set, a large quantity should provide plenty of cooling power for a punch bowl or beverage station.
I also appreciate that these are BPA-free. They’re easy to reuse, don’t add any flavor to the drink, and eliminate the problem of melting ice watering down your beverage.
Overall, I’m extremely impressed with these reusable ice cubes. They stayed frozen for nearly three hours in a 78-degree room and kept my drink cold for at least another hour afterward. They’re attractive, easy to clean, reusable, and don’t dilute your drinks. For the price, especially if you purchase one of the larger packs, I think these are an excellent value.
