Bluetooth transmitter? Bluetooth receiver? This does both!
This is a dual-purpose Bluetooth transceiver, supporting both transmission to other Bluetooth audio devices such as speakers or headsets, and reception from computers, tablets or phones.
I was confused by the transmitter/receiver nomenclature, but a diagram in the user manual explains it.
* Transmitter: transmits to wireless headsets, headphones, speakers, etc.
* Receiver: receives from smartphones, laptops, etc.
There’s no headphone socket on the device, only a short cable terminating in a 3.5mm stereo plug. If you want to use it with headphones you’ll need to use the included female-to-female coupler or use headphones with a detachable cable and a 3.5mm socket, for example Panasonic RP-HC300.
Pairing to headphones (transmitter mode) is surprisingly effortless. With the headphones in pairing mode (on mine it was just a case of ensuring nothing else was connected to them) a long press of the button on the front of the transceiver was all it took. Connection made. Job done.
Receiver mode is just as simple; on your phone or computer look for a bluetooth device called U6 and pair to that. In receiver mode its own microphone also comes into play, turning any ordinary headphones into a call-capable device.
A short press of any button will briefly show the remaining battery percentage on the display before turning back off to preserve the life of said battery.
Whether transmitting or receiving the sound is crystal clear, however my Panasonic RP-HC300 noise-cancelling headphones pick up electrical noise from the transceiver being in close proximity. Also if using the inline coupler with a headset-and-microphone combo that uses a TRRS plug (two rings, not one) you may find that you hear the difference between left and right, rather than separate left and right channels. That means that mono audio won’t come through. I didn’t get this with the RP-HC300 as I plugged straight in, but a Voistek headset didn’t play nicely at all. A TRS male to TRRS female coupler would address this, and Amazon sell them.

The sound quality is clear and stable, with no interruptions during use. I also liked that it features a display showing useful information, allowing for convenient control of music and calls. I finally took my first flight on my summer holidays and this worked perfect.
Prior to travel I used an old portable CD player to set it up to sync with my air pods. When I got on my flight, plugged this in it worked perfectly without any issues.
It was great being able to use my own air pods rather than the cheap headphones provided by the airline.
It remained connected for the whole movie without any problems at all.
Very happy with it and how it preformed, there was no issues at all and it took very little space.

Good quality, easy to use and good value bluetooth transmitte
My plan for this device was to connect non bluetooth audio/music sources to my bluetooth amplifier.
The idea was to plug the built in jack into the output socket fromf the audio device, and connect this to the amplifier over bluetooth.
Unfortunately it didn’t work. The problem was due to my amplifier being an older bluetooth device with a non standard pin code.
This unit cycles through known standard 4 digit pincodes. It is not possible to enter custom pin codes to connect with.
Although I couldnt use it as intended, I was able to test the funtionality using my son’s wonderboom4, and that worked great, I was able to connect a non bluetooth audio source to a bluetooth only speaker using this unit.
I would say this is a good value, well designed piece of kit, definitely worth a punt, as long as your bluetooth device uses a standard 4 digit default pin code for connectio

Impressive and versatile bluetooth receiver/transmitte
This item is small but versatile, being both a receiver and a transmitter for Bluetooth audio. I was looking for a simple way to pipe music from my phone into some really nice (but not Bluetooth enabled) speakers, and this does the trick perfectly. Just plug the 3.5mm connector into the converter and plug into the short trailing 3.5mm cable on the device, and set it to ‘receive’ mode – and it will just work! It’s handy that it comes with both the double female 3.5mm connector and also an aeroplane style converter too (which I’ve not used – not having been on a flight recently!). That’s a use which would require the transmitter mode of course – which this unit also provides. The little 3.5mm flylead has a neat clip to keep it all neat – and the unit itself is smaller than I expected (it’s tiny!) which is actually quite handy. It packs a lot of functionality into a very small unit. I like this product a lot and would recommend it.
