Sturdy Boxes But Measure Glasswear Sizes Firs
This review is for the Mardili wine glasses moving boxes 2 pack.
These two boxes arrived exceptionally well packaged. It took some time to open, but the product was completely unscathed from shipping. They came disassembled but were easy to put together. It helped that there was an instruction sheet with clear illustrations.
The quality of the cardboard was firm and stiff, and the end pieces folded together with interlocking tabs so there was no need to reinforce them with shipping tape. The top lid was already assembled and fit perfectly snug on top of the box.
It’s important to note the dimensions of your glassware and compare them with the measurements of the box. This may seem obvious, but I just assumed all my stemmed glasses would fit and I was wrong. I have glasses that flare outward just enough at the top to not fit inside the box. If you want to make sure they fit, I suggest you measure the diameter across at the widest point of your glasses to make sure they are smaller than 3.5 inches, which is the space across in each pocket.
There are white plastic inserts that go into the hand holes on each long end of the box. They are two halves that you press to snap together. I thought they might be hard to put together but they weren’t, and they do make lifting the boxes more comfortable on the hands.
As for price, these two wine glass boxes cost over thirty dollars. I had no idea cardboard boxes cost that much nowadays. Granted, these two have custom inserts which would increase the price over a regular cardboard box, but I see these are not out of line with what other similar cardboard boxes are selling for.
These are nicely made moving and storage boxes. I guess in this day and age, you just have to prepare to pay a bunch to move your glassware safely.
Works great - with thinner stemware
When I ordered these boxes, the product images included icons for martini style glasses, so I thought my water goblets would fit.
Putting them together was very easy for anyone who has assemble a banker box. Getting the handle inserts in was a bit tricky, but they are a nice addition.
I was only able to get nine of my water goblets in the box.
Even with that, I am giving the product 4 stars, as they have adjusted their glass icons, and removed the martini glass.
However, these do seem a bit expensive.
Unbreakable
Perfect for not only wine glasses, but small figurines, drinking glasses, and even juice glasses. I was amazed at the number of small items I could pack into these dividers. I am moving cross country and wanted all breakables to be safe. These glass packing boxes fit the need perfectly. Box and inserts are sturdy and the box is easy to assemble. I highly recommend them to anyone who is moving or even wants to just haul glasses to a patio for decorating or even when asked to bring extra glasses for a party.
Nice For Self-packing glass drinkware
Very Good purchase. These neat boxes come with inserts and base pad: was able to fill two with Waterford Goblets, wine and juice glasses, Prosecco glasses. All was in preparation for an upcoming move, allowing us to transport these in our auto rather than risk breakage when loaded with many other boxed items.
Excellent Protection for Moving a Pint Glass Collectio
These boxes arrived at the perfect time. I am packing for an upcoming move and needed something better than a standard moving box to protect a significant pint glass collection.
The size, fit, and stability work extremely well for what I need. The individual compartments keep my glasses separated while the sturdy construction gives me much more confidence than simply wrapping everything and placing it into a typical box from a big-box or hardware store.
I also really like the placement of the handles. They are positioned well enough that when you lift the box, your hands and knuckles are not banging into the contents on either end. That may seem like a small detail until you are carrying a box filled with glassware.
Packing is quick, organized, and much less stressful because everything has its own protected space.
Possible Improvement:
I would like to see an optional set of adjustable or different-sized dividers for collections that include wider pint glasses, mugs, or specialty glassware.
Bottom Line:
This is a sturdy, well-built, and much safer packing system than the standard moving boxes I have used in the past. For anyone moving or storing a meaningful glassware collection, these boxes provide excellent protection, organization, and peace of mind.
