Great little tool.
This is a great little tool. I bought it because I have arthritis in my hands and thought it would really help with cutting fabric. However, I had trouble controlling it. My hands are not strong enough to properly guide it. So, unfortunately I had to return it. With stronger hands it is a great tool.
These cordless electric scissors, or perhaps more accurately an electric box cutter, have been an absolute lifesaver.
I can’t explain what happens to us in middle age, but breaking down cardboard boxes with small hands and the occasional bout of carpal tunnel isn’t high on my list of favorite activities anymore. My solution was to toss whole boxes into the recycling bin without flattening them. Within minutes, the bin looked full. My husband would sigh, we’d exchange “the look,” and somehow end up debating Newton’s laws of physics and the mysterious amount of unused space supposedly hiding inside the recycling bin.
Enter the Strebito Cordless Electric Scissors. This is the first electric cutter I’ve ever owned, and I honestly don’t know how I went this long without one. The curved handle provides a clear view of the cutting path, and the thumb operated power button requires only light pressure to activate.
My husband happily reduced a mountain of cardboard into neat, flat pieces in just a few minutes. More importantly for me, the motor does the work instead of my hands and wrists, making it much easier to cut through boxes cleanly and with very little effort.
Battery life has also been impressive. He used it continuously for well over two hours, and the battery indicator still showed more than half a charge remaining.
The kit includes the electric scissors, a USB charging cable, and a sturdy storage case. A wall adapter is not included, but that wasn’t an issue since we already had several USB charging adapters available. This has quickly become one of those tools I never knew I needed until I owned it. Now I can’t imagine breaking down boxes without it.

I bought these for a project of cutting some heavy mats. I had other options but this was the one that gave me the quickest results and did a great job. After using them, I’m loving them even more!
These are super easy to use. I thought the thumb spot was the safety, which was awkward, but I realized that it is how you turn it on and the grip is the safety. It makes perfect sense and is easy to grasp.
It isn’t’ too heavy so I can cut things all day without fear of my hand or arm getting fatigued. I am not sure how long the battery will go, but I have yet to get to the red light and then just charge after using.
I feared they may be “cheap” or “plastic” feeling, but they managed to make it solid without being heavy.
It comes with additional blade and tools to replace it. I have used on a canvas mat as well as cardboard so far and it didn’t even blink. I feel like I can use these everywhere and on just about anything; they are that versatile! This is something I should have bought a long time ago and since the price is great, I’m even more annoyed at myself.
I typically keep an eye out for STREBITO tools when they go on sale. Although seeming just another generic Chinese brand with a gobbledygook name, STREBITO is decidedly not. What sets these tools apart is the attention to thoughtful design, usability, good-to-great quality, and surprising good and sometimes whimsical packaging.
For example, the design of these electric scissors differs from similar products in that the handle is angled lower to the basal platen, making it easier to use than most. To elaborate, such tools often get caught up when starting cuts because of the design of the input ramp. With the more horizontal handle of the STREBITO electric scissors, it is easier to line up the input feed than can be done with others having more vertical angles.
In this case, the rest of the electric scissors is similar to others on the market. My only real complaint is that I don’t care much for the included blades, which slow down cuts. This isn’t a problem for me as I purchased a set of third-party gold blades months ago that fit this pair of electric scissors. The motor seems a bit underpowered under load but that may be an effect of the mediocre original blade.
In summary, these electric scissors help solve one problem, but otherwise are non-descript. Almost at odds with the careful design of other STREBITO tools. Still, at the price point they are a reasonable value.
