Stays put even on countertops with rounded edges
The stainless steel cutting board is a great addition to my kitchen. It has a 90 degree lip on one edge to hold it in place on your counter. I have bullnose corners on my countertops and the cutting board says in place with no problems.
I have used this cutting board for cutting, kneading bread, carrying meat to the grill and holding cookies while they cool. I was worried that it might dull my knives. I’ve only used the board a few times. Thus far, I have not noticed a difference in my knives. I suspect I will have to sharpen them on a regular basis with this cutting board.
I do like the cutting board. I like that my knives do not leave gouges in the steel like they do with wood or plastic. I like that it is non-porous and therefore more sanitary.
I made pizza the other day and used the cutting board as a surface to knead the dough. The lip helped the board to stay in place as I kneaded the dough. The cutting board made cleaning up much easier. I wish the cutting board were a bit larger for this purpose. Some of the flour spills onto the counter. It is still much easier to clean up than it is without the board. If it were too big, it would be difficult to store.
The cutting board is much lighter weight than a wood alternative and not much heavier than plastic. It takes up less room in a cupboard than a wood cutting board.
Overall I would recommend this stainless steel cutting board as long as you have a way to sharpen your knives.
