The bug catcher has drawn interest from flies, gnats and several other insects. The sticky panels were easy to insert and replace. At first I thought it was a nuisance that I had to actually charge the unit with the enclosed cord, but now I really like that I can charge it, then place in a spot where it doesn’t have to be plugged in. It sits unattended on a shelf near the floor, giving a low glow to the room at night. I’ll rate this bug catcher as a win!
There is really nothing negative to say about this Safer Home Fly Trap. It’s a nice design to fit into any decor. The blue light is pleasing and calming to look at, if that interests you at all. Best of all it works. It has caught everything from house flies to gnats.
It’s portable so you can move it to areas where the flying bugs are an issue. The battery will keep it working for about 8-10 days if you don’t keep it plugged in. Time will tell how long the sticky pads will last. It’s been about 1-1/2 months since I got it and they are still very sticky.
There is no on/off switch. It seems that lifting the unit and touching the base activates the unit.
Safer Home Catch. Easy an effective for catching bugs. It has caught different bugs including flies and beetles. I like that it’s portable to move around in areas where outlets aren’t available. The charge lasts for days. Mine came charged so I didn’t realize till later that I didn’t have the right type of charger. If your an Apple user you already have one. I would of gave it 5 stars if it came with the charger. It does come with the chord. I would buy again and also will recommend it to friends.
A Game-Changer for My Buggy Back Porch! I bought the Safer Home Catch 360 Cordless Flying Insect Trap hoping it would help with the overwhelming number of gnats and mosquitoes on my small back city porch — and it has exceeded my expectations! This spring has been especially brutal with rain and the bugs have been absolutely abundant. Our porch was becoming unusable in the evenings. Within two days of plugging in this trap (well, charging it — it’s cordless!), I noticed a significant difference. The 360 UV light really pulls the insects in from all directions, and I’m surprised at how many it catches every night. I love that it’s completely chemical-free, so it’s safe to have around our family with children. The 10-day rechargeable battery is fantastic — I just charge it every week or so and it keeps running strong. No cords dangling, no messy refills, and it’s quiet enough that you forget it’s even there. If you’re dealing with gnats, or other flying pests indoors or on a porch/patio, I highly recommend this trap. It works super indoors on fruit flies too. This product is effective, easy to use, and actually works. Best purchase I’ve made for bug free comfort this season!
I delayed purchasing one of these high-tech bug catchers for months. First, because the high-end TV ad for the leading brand that features a dubbed actress, disco lighting, and over-the-top choreography is annoying. Second, because the outlets in my kitchen are under the cabinets, the plugin would be horizontal. (Would it still work?) Third, because I was not convinced that UV LED light traps work any better than a conventional fly swatter, fly paper, or a salt gun.
Nevertheless, the Safer Home Catch 360 Cordless Flying Insect Trap caught my attention because it’s battery-powered and is a standalone unit. You can put it where the bugs bother you. Like the reviews say, the device works best at night, but it works! Much to my surprise, it works!
I assume Safe Home follows the old Gillette razor blade business model (sell the razors on a slim margin and make money on the blades). The glue cards, however, seem reasonably-priced (40 for $10).
Once you see dead bugs stuck to the cards, it’s hard to resist replacing them immediately, but doing so seems wasteful. I wish the glue cards let you remove the bugs easily or wash them off with water. I’m guessing the trap would not be as effective if you could. Regardless, the Safer Home Catch 360 Cordless Flying Insect Trap, UV LED Light works!
