I was skeptical that this car would live up to the hype of being waterproof, rugged, and fast. But it blew me out of the water! This is by far the the BEST remote control car that I have ever purchased (or seen).
It is legitimately all-terrain! My 5 year old has taken it in the snow, on rocky desert landscape, on a sandy beach, across grassy fields, and in the water. On rainy days, it shreds through puddles with a rocketing rooster tail! It can be tossed in a pool and jets around like a little boat! It can fly off a ledge and safely rumble away unscathed! This car can do everything.
Buy this thing for a kid (or for yourself!) and you will not be disappointed!

Surprisingly really Fast & Tough
This is an impressive rc truck. We have a 4 year old that loves it. The remote simple enough that a young toddler can figure it out. It’s actually really fast, and really light surprisingly cause how big it is. It fly’s threw water, tall grass, snow, sand. No joke. A very tough truck. Would definitely recommend. Oh and truck works off a charge cord that’s in a locked compartment underneath. You just need a brick plug for it. The remote does take batteries.

My boys (6 & 3 yo) got these for Christmas and are obsessed! They’re super hardy – we’ve taken them out in the rain, in cold weather, through puddles, up muddy hillsides, and crashed into just about everything including boulders. The wheels are a dense foam so they’re showing signs of wear, but the rest of the car still looks great. The cars are somewhat hard to control, but mostly because they’re so powerful, so the turning can be a bit “jumpy”. Super fast, and my kids think it’s hilarious to make the car kick up on only it’s back wheels if they start fast from a dead stop. Once I figured out the charger port on the bottom it hasn’t been a huge hassle but I definitely have to do it for my kids so they’re not 100% independent toys for young kids. Battery life is okay, my kids often run out of battery before they want to be done playing though.
The first time we saw this RC monster truck in action was during a play date for our boys. One of the friends brought this crazy shark truck along and all the boys and girls (8 in all ages 2 to 4) were having a blast chasing it around the park, running it into stationary objects (each other), and dodging it as the kids took turns learning how to control it. This RC truck is crazy durable, flipping over roots, crashing into metal trash cans, trees, shins, you name it. One of the boys got so excited he kept kicking it repeatedly and stomping it. Sure it got scuffed up and dusty, but kept on going strong.
So of course we had to buy one for the boys. Inaugural run we took it to an RC race track at a park nearby and our 4 yr old had a blast as he sent the truck jumping, flipping, spinning, and ramming into the track and related terrain. Controller range is solid, the race track is about 200 feet or so end-to-end, and battery life is about 15-20 minutes depending on how hard you run it. Swappable battery would be an awesome option, but this RC truck is more entry-level and you can’t beat the price.
Look, the new usb plugs on kids’ toys are super dumb. The flimsy wires get broken. Most kids are too impatient to handle the tiny screwdriver and the wires on their own, even at 8 or 9 years old. Hell, I get aggravated with it. Like everything else in this house, it is only going to run for 30 mins. PLEASE CHANGE THE CHARGING SYSTEMS TO SOMETHING ACCESSIBLE AND DURABLE. But this shark car takes a beating. As the first car for the littlest drive, it bounces off of everything. The foam just keeps going. (Might want to consider a new design on the tail, you know it pops off). But the oldest kids love the water jumps and puddle skids. It is loud and fun. It is fast and responsive. You are close to making a car that will make the angels sing. Bring on the next model…I am watching for it!!
Too much to handle for a toddle
Its a great quality car that does well on all terrains. It has a great range and is super rapid. A little bit too much for a 3 year old to control responsible. Battery life is also quite poor.
This one’s a winner. My son just got this and he and his cousins haven’t come inside the house the whole holiday weekend. It’s kind of fierce and funny at the same time. And the chain! The shark “tears away” from the controller…half of the chain stays with the controller and the other half stays with the shark. Such a fun twist.
