Metal Squirrel Baffle for Bird Feeder Pole with Spring, Fits

Metal Squirrel Baffle for Bird Feeder Pole with Spring

Metal Squirrel Baffle for Bird Feeder Pole with Spring, Fits 0.5″-1″ Heavy-Duty, Chew-Proof Outdoor Protection for Feeding Stations, Birdhouses and Shepherd’s Hook, Pre-Curved 3-Panel Assembly

  • 18" Wide Squirrel Guard for Bird Feeders: Protect your outdoor bird feeder from squirrels, raccoons, and other climbing animals. The 18-inch cone-shaped squirrel baffle creates a wide, slippery barrier that helps keep bird seed for birds, not backyard pests.
  • Upgraded Chew-Proof Metal Construction: Unlike plastic squirrel baffles that may crack, warp, or get chewed over time, this heavy-duty metal bird feeder baffle is built for outdoor use. It helps resist animal chewing, sun exposure, rain, and everyday weather.
  • Spring-Loaded Wobble Action: The included coil spring sits under the baffle. When a squirrel lands on the baffle, the spring-loaded design lets the baffle move and wobble, helping throw the squirrel off balance before it reaches the feeder.
  • Pre-Curved Panels for Easier Assembly: Each of the three metal panels is factory-formed into the correct curve, so there is no need to bend the pieces by hand. Simply join the panels using the included short screws and wing nuts.
  • Fits Round Poles & Shepherd Hooks: The open-style limiter fits most 0.5"-1" round poles and shepherd’s hook poles. For best results, install the limiter 5-6 ft above the ground, keep the feeder 2 ft above the baffle, and leave at least 2 ft of surrounding clearance.

This is a well-fabricated product—you can tell the metal will last through the seasons. I agree with the product description that say this ONLY works if you place it right. I placed the hood exactly at 5.5′ high and moved my feeder to about 6.5′. But the real test was the side clearance. I have a bush about 6 feet away, and the squirrel couldn’t make the jump.

The spring-loaded wobble is a great failsafe too. I’ve seen reviews complaining this doesn’t work if the feeder is hanging right next to a tree or a pool cage—but honestly, that’s physics, not the product’s fault. If you have a clear zone like they suggest in the description, this baffle is unbeatable. It’s definitely the best metal option out there right now.

I was worried this wouldn’t fit my specific shepherd’s pole, but the open-ended clamp design handled it with room to spare. Super easy to adjust and tighten. Assembly was a breeze—I had it on the pole in about 5 minutes by myself without having to fight with any parts. I also appreciate that it’s metal because my old plastic one used to wobble in the wind constantly. This is solid, sturdy, and looks clean in the yard. So far, so good—no raccoons or squirrels have managed to breach the perimeter!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersEffective metal squirrel baffle
Over the past year, I’ve gone through two plastic baffles. The sun made them brittle and warped, and the squirrels chewed the edges into a jagged mess—they just don’t hold up. Decided to try this metal one, and honestly, I was blown away the moment I opened the box. You get three pre-curved metal panels that just screw together—super easy and user-friendly assembly. The metal feels premium and has some real heft to it. It looks thick enough to handle the elements and withstand those sharp little teeth. Feels like this might be the last baffle I’ll ever need to buy. It’s pricier than plastic, but I’d say it’s worth every penny. If you’re tired of replacing junk, I highly recommend this one. Perfect.

Golden Review Award: 1 From Our UsersThe spring is a GAME CHANGER for acrobats
I have a very determined squirrel who treats my feeder like a Ninja Warrior course. I set up this baffle correctly (6ft high, away from the fence), but I was skeptical. Well, I just watched that squirrel try to jump onto the hood and the built-in spring immediately wobbled and tilted, dumping him right off into the grass. It wasn’t just a solid block he could grab onto; it moved under his weight! It’s actually pretty hilarious to watch. The diameter is wide enough that he can’t stretch around it to climb the pole either. Fantastic design.
