Finally something that actually helps keep bread fresh
These bags are great! We don’t eat bread very quickly, so often we’re faced with really nice locally made bread loaves that get hard and stale within a couple of days after we buy them. I’ve tried a variety of bags and boxes and other things that were supposed to keep bread fresher for longer, but none did much to help. I even tried the beeswax wraps, but had a hard time getting them sealed around the bread very well, and in some cases they weren’t quite big enough for a larger loaf.
This is plenty big enough for even huge loaves, and easily closed with the zipper. The zipper runs around two sides of the bag, making it easy to get the bread in and out without squishing it or wrestling it through a small opening. It has a cute floral pattern on the exterior as well.
This bag seems to be very effective so far at helping keep bread fresher. We have a whole grain sourdough loaf that was baked by a neighbor on Thursday that still has a nice fresh texture, when normally it’s getting hard and crusty on day two.
I would highly recommend this product. They are not the easiest things to clean- much like beeswax wraps, they have to be washed by hand in cool water. But, if they help us avoid food waste, I’ll cope with the hassle of cleaning them
Good quality and works well. Don't machine wash
These work great! It kept bread fresh for at least two days longer than a ziploc bag. Against the instructions, I tried washing one on cold delicate cycle. Do NOT do that. It makes the wax coating gritty and the bag shrinks a little against the zipper. This is not a flaw as it says very clearly to spot clean or wipe clean. I tried it so you don’t. 🙂 the large zipper makes it easy to put a loaf of bread in or take it out. Great product and definitely cuter than a ziploc. There was a bit of a factory odor, but it dissipated after about a day and a wipe clean.
Way bigger than I expected
These bags are structurally well made, the zipper closes smoothly, and the bags are made with a cute fabric print that is coated to make regular cleaning pretty easy by just rinsing. My biggest concern with these is the size. As you can see in the photo, the bag is wider and longer than the bread box where I typically store 2 stand 9×5 loaves. With the excess size, it is more difficult to keep the loaf orderly and prevent unnecessary breakage of our beautifully fresh baked sourdough. My other concern is depending on how quickly your family burns through the loaf, you cannot see at a glance when you get mold turning up. With homemade loaves, there are no preservatives to make it last for weeks on shelves so they do spoil faster, and i fear that once mold sets in to these bags if i dont catch it for a couple days, i dont know how effectively you can clean them to reuse. With all that said, if you are baking larger round loaves or have a larger family that goes through bread like it is going out of style, these bags could be perfect for you and well worth the investment. If it is just 1 or 2 people that stretch a single 9×5 loaf over the course of a week or so, then I recommend looking for an alternative option.
A Nice Way to Keep Homemade Bread Fresh
These L-shaped zipper beeswax bread bags are a really nice solution for storing homemade bread. If you’ve ever struggled with keeping a loaf fresh without it drying out or getting too soft, these bags strike a great balance.
The L-shaped zipper design is especially helpful—it makes it much easier to slide bread in and out without squishing it, which is a small detail that makes a big difference. It’s convenient, especially for larger or oddly shaped loaves.
The beeswax lining does a good job of maintaining freshness. Bread stays soft without getting overly moist, and it seems to help extend the life of a loaf compared to just leaving it out or using standard plastic bags. Plus, it feels good using something reusable instead of disposable options.
They’re also easy to clean and hold up well with regular use. The material feels sturdy, and the zipper works smoothly without catching.
Overall, these bread bags are a practical and eco-friendly choice for anyone who bakes at home. They make storing fresh bread simpler while helping it stay fresh.
Giftable, Quality Beeswax Bread Bags
I have used beeswax coated cotton stretchable covers for bowls before and really like them to replace plastic wrap. When a friend who is also into making his own sourdough recommended beeswax bread bags, I was excited to try them out as my husband makes multiple loaves of sourdough each week and it’s hard to keep the ones with more of a crust to them tasting good after a day in our bread box or paper bags. This bread bag seems very nicely made and look pretty enough to have out on the counter with a pretty floral pattern. Our household agrees that the bread does indeed taste better and fresher when stored in the beeswax bag as compared to our breadbox or paper bags. My littles are picky with their toast and usually want the crust cut off if it’s not fresh from the oven but now, they will at least eat it for the next day after the bread is baked. The bags come nicely packaged and would be giftable and there are instructions for how to clean and maintain the beeswax coating on the insides of the bags. The size is large enough for all of the loaves we make although if you are making long baguettes, you should check the measurements to ensure they will fit. The zipper works nice and smoothly and the bags just feel and look really well made.
Love the zipper!
I am really impressed with these bread bags, and they look absolutely adorable on the counter. The best part about them is definitely the zipper design. So many other reusable bread bags require you to constantly roll them down and clip them, which is always a hassle and ends up wasting a ton of room. Having a zipper instead makes these so much easier to use, and it actually provides a lot more usable space inside for larger or awkwardly shaped homemade loaves.
Using them is incredibly straightforward; the zipper gives you plenty of room to slide a loaf in without tearing the crust, and the bag does a fantastic job of keeping the bread fresh without letting it get soggy like plastic does. Plus, turning it inside out to shake out the crumbs and wipe down the lining is quick and simple for cleaning. It’s just a really cute, well-designed, and practical solution for storing baked goods.
