Great coffee, fast brewing. This product converted me to “pour over” for good. Conveniently, the metal cone fits perfectly on a coleman camp coffee pot so I can take it camping without breaking the glass (and I can brew more coffee in one move either at the campsite or at home). Delicious coffee in record time.
This is a simple to use, easy two-piece pour over for coffee. I’m all for convenienceand this is extremely easy to use and to clean! You control the strength of your coffee by how fast our slow you pour the water over the grounds. It has a stainless steel filter so it doesn’t affect the taste of your coffee and no more money on coffee filters, you just rinse and dry. The same with the glass carafe, it won’t interfere with the taste of the coffee and you just rinse and dry. I use a little soap after about three or four uses. I can get an average volume of four small mugs or two very large mugs with a full carafe. It’s a wonderful product!
I’m impressed that this filter let no sediment pass through to my cup of coffee. I use a fellow drip that takes paper filters and they always said there’s no reusable filter out on the market that fits it… well, the #4 cone works for it. I think the water passes through this filter faster than the paper filter so the flavor note might not be as strong, but it tasted good to me.
Since the care instructions say not to wash it with soap, I ran hot water through it (I heat extra when I heat for the brew). You definitely need to rinse it in the sink to get the grinds out, so make sure you have a strainer in the sink to catch and dump into the trash. I don’t mind the extra step if it’s going to save me money and lessen my trash output.
For $20, this is great value. Would buy again. The Stainless strainer seems well made, and doesn’t require any paper filter. There’s no plastic except for the thumb tab on the strainer, so it’s mostly recyclable for when it breaks. And it will break. The glass is super thin, think wine glass thin. I took a picture of me holding it up with a skewer to show how light it is. You won’t be passing this down to your kids, that’s for sure. Also, the neck is too tight for medium or larger hands to get in, so cleaning it requires a brush, or just put it off and let the flavor build up. The spout isn’t shaped correctly, so when you pour it kind of goes all around instead of in a nice stream
I was confident in my purchase after reading feedback. The concept of this item solved all my problems (I hoped). I was SO THRILLED … and still am! I have overflowed MANY a cup of coffee onto my counter or cutting board. NO LONGER with this quick metal filter that makes a BETTER cup of coffee FASTER than a paper version. The carafe holds enough coffee that I don’t have to babysit it all morning or worry about a mess with my cup-top brew. I can easily pour (because of the spout) into my favorite mug after warming my cream. (What a dream!) I love that it has a handle. The look was exactly what I was wanting. I didn’t think the ritual of brewing my morning treat could get better …. but you did it. 100% happy and have already sent one to my sister.
The 33 oz. Verlaine coffee maker is very good, dare I say even better than the Chemex. The glass is very strong, the filter is very easy to clean, and it makes a great cup of coffee. If you are used to the old drip coffee machines, the Verline may take some time to get used to, but the upside is that it makes a better cup of coffee. Try out a couple of different methods of brewing it to figure out exactly how you like it I personally like to use caramel coffee and add butter a la Bulletproof style. I also recommend using a kettle with a thin neck to give you more control over how much water you pour onto the grounds.
The best part, however, it no longer needing filters. Not only am I saving money from not needing to buy filters, I also don’t have to worry about running out! I can also use the filter for other stuff, like making tea.
Fantastic product, great packaging, and extremely fast shipping! I have been wanting to pick up a pour over coffee maker for a while and decided to give this one a shot. Boy, I am happy I did! Not only is the Verlaine Pour Over a much more environmentally friendly alternative to my Keurig, it also makes much better coffee. This device truely highlights the finer quality of the coffee beans; it brings forth a rich and bold flavor that my traditional coffee maker and Keurig can not. When done, it is simple to clean and store. I highly recommend this item and plan on buying more as gifts for my family this holiday season.
