Well Built Tray and Phone Holde
I installed this in 5 minutes on my 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid LE. It fit the factory LCD screen frame perfectly without interfering with the LCD touchscreen. It has peel and stick adhesive tape on the underside of the top of the screen frame, but I did not peel of the protective layer to reveal the tape. Seems to hold fine without it and I don’t want the sticky mess if I decide to stop using it some day. The product arrived in multiple pieces: the main frame with behind-screen storage tray, the two phone attachment arms, which are adjustable in length and position, and the two phone mount options. Those phone mount options are the magnetic mount, which also contains a self-stick metal ring that could be placed on the outside of the phone, and the “squeeze mount” as I will call it that squeezes the sides of the phone to hold it in the mount. You can choose which side to put each.
With my Google Pixel 10 XL in the squeeze mount, it seemed to block too much vision out the front windshield. The mechanism did hold the phone tightly though and you press a button to release the hold. It worked quite well. The arm and the mount seemed decently sturdy. Smaller phones would likely be fine and not block any view.
With the magnetic mount, it worked better with windshield vision not being blocked. This is because the built-in magnet in the Pixel 10 XL allows for a lower mount. I did have to fully remove my case to utilize the magnet mount. I did not want to stick the included metal ring on the outside of my phone case since I wireless charge at home and that might interfere. I am not sure how often I will use the phone mount unless I find another phone case that is thinner and works with this mount. In fairness to this product, I have the thick Otterbox case on my phone because I drop it a lot. I have not found a magnetic mount nor magsafe charger whose magnet that works through my case (although charging works through the case).
Overall, the product fits perfectly over the screen and has a clean look. I really wanted the extra storage area behind the screen so this definitely adds that. I only wish that the storage tray had a silicone mat to keep items from sliding around. It is a hard smooth plastic surface. For the price this is a nice option to consider.
Currently, in my RAV4, I use a cup phone holder for my phone. However, whenever I need to use my phone for navigation, the phone is too low and too far to the right. So, it is not in my field of view, which makes navigation difficult and, frankly, not as safe because I constantly need to glance down at the phone. An option to get the phone more directly in my view would have been to get a phone mount that either attaches with suction or an adhesive strip. However, I definitely did not want to use any glue on my dashboard, and I have never had good experiences with phone holders that attach with a suction cup. So, when I saw how this phone holder mounts directly onto the car radio screen and adds an extra storage compartment behind the radio, I thought it was a great invention and a great way to get the phone directly in my view while I am driving.
The phone mount fit firmly around the radio screen, and it does not wobble at all. And I did not have to attach any glue strips permanently to the dashboard or around the radio. And it stayed firmly in place while I was driving. I do not have a metal ring in my phone case, so I was not able to test the magnetic holder, but it seems like it is good quality. But for me, the holder with the adjustable arm and rotating ball joint works great. With it, I was able to easily position the phone at any angle I chose. And it is good quality and does not feel cheaply made at all.
This phone holder ended up being great. It held my phone in the perfect position where I could easily glance at it while driving, which is going to make a huge difference. And the compartment it adds behind the radio screen is a nice bonus feature. And because it is well-made and does not look or feel cheap at all, it blends in really well with the dashboard and looks like it originally came with the car. Plus, it was very to use and set up. It is well worth its full list price, and I highly recommend it.
Amazing addition to my Rav4
This has been a fantastic addition to my car. The fit is just perfect; it feels sturdy and doesn’t wobble when I’m driving. I love that it comes with two phone holders, which means I can keep my phone at eye level while also providing a spot for my passenger’s phone. This feature is especially handy on road trips when we both need directions or want to play some music. The design is sleek and doesn’t obstruct my view of the road, which was a big concern for me. However, I did find that I might need to add some adhesive to ensure it stays put more securely. Initially, it felt a bit loose, but once I added a bit of double-sided tape, it really made a difference. The convenience of having my phone easily accessible without fumbling around is invaluable, especially when I need to glance at directions. Overall, I’m really happy with this product. It combines functionality and ease of use perfectly, making my driving experience much more enjoyable. If you have a RAV4 and are looking for a practical phone holder, I definitely recommend giving this one a shot! Just keep in mind about the adhesive for a more secure fit.
Works on 2024 RAV4 to hold two phones!
Pretty happy with this product. Well packed, nice fit to my RAV4 screen. Easy to put together and adjust, works well. The magnet easily holds my iPhone. The only issues I really have is one the arms that hold the phone aren’t the same, one expands in one direction & the other differently. One goes further to or from the dashboard and the other from left to right along the dash. I also would’ve preferred both attachments be magnetic since both devices I wanted to use were. Although I like the grippy phone holder attachment as well. Because I switched which arm held which device I believe I had to install the arms upside down from their intended position to make it work, but it works. They don’t seem to lock in but it has not been an issue. The piece behind the screen gave a little corralled area for stuff. I realized it pretty perfectly fit a box of tissues so I did that, you could put pens or what not there. The only strange thing is there is a piece of visible dark foam built in with a groove in this spot that I assume is for something but no idea what, it looks kind of odd like it shouldn’t be there. Anyhow, good product overall!
Looks like it could have come with my Rav4
I have this in my 2021 RAV4 Hybrid Limited and it fits so well. I like how clean it looks and how it actually looks like it could have come with the car instead of being some random thing stuck onto the dashboard. It’s snug and doesn’t move around. There’s also a thin padding on the inside where it sits against the car, so I don’t think it will scratch anything, but if I notice any scratches over time, I’ll have to update this review. I also love that I’m not committed to it either. If I decide I don’t want it or want to remove it for the time being, I can just take it off. The cradle and the magnetic stands are interchangeable. Right now, I have the magnetic holder for my iPhone 17 Pro Max, and my husband drove today with his Pixel and just stuck his phone on it for navigation since his isn’t connected to my CarPlay. I don’t need the extra phone cradle right now, so I have it in my glove compartment, but I can see us using it on our next weekend road trip. The only part I’m not really using is the little tray behind it because I noticed that things sitting there causes a pretty bad glare on the windshield. Aside from that, I’m really happy with it. I really like car gadgets that look like they came with the car, and this is one of my favorites (my other favorite is my DICMKY car charger USB hub docking station).
