Gourmet coffee make
When I finally opened the huge box that arrived I thought did I overkill with this order? When I set everything up, I realized that while yes this is probably overkill for a coffee maker, it is a very well made coffee maker by Cuisinart. It is large enough for a big family, it can make hot and iced coffee, is made of decent quality material (mostly plastic except some metal parts and face, can be used with single pods and or a refillable pod cup and has a milk frother whisk, which I probably wont use much due to cleaning nightmare. At first set up, it is like any other pod style coffee maker. It does not alter the coffee taste or has any weird leaks or steam drips and is a decent value for the money. I would say that there are other coffee makers at this price range that you may like but this one is fairly easy to use and looks decent. It is not a pretty design, but looks like a workhorse that you can depend on.
Very Nice
This is a very versatile drink machine providing hot water for teas etc., single serving and pot hot coffee and a frother for whipping milk products for cappuccino. Once you figure out all of the hiding places in the unit you can get to work brewing. It takes K-cups in one funnel or swap that out for loose ground. The loose ground comes with a filter go get to it. The pot brewing basket is in a frond fold out door. That also has a provided filter for loose coffee or you can use #4 paper filters there is you prefer.
The genius doesn’t stop there. There is a spot to hold the coffee measuring spoon on the side as well. To take the engineering award home is the ability to slide the water reservoir from the back to the side depending on your counter layout. Brilliant. This is a quality kitchen appliance. My only beef is with the black writing on the silver finish. Kind of hard to read. The best cure for that is a nice cup of brew from this winner.
Trusted Brand, Specialty Settings and Modes!
We put this new Cuisinart multibrew coffee maker next to our Cuisinart coffee grinder and our Cuisinart espresso maker on our coffee bar. We have tried out all the different modes and they all work well with no issues. The iced coffee is a basic drip coffee over ice (honestly I prefer a double shot of espresso over ice instead). The single serving mode works great with both a k-cup or the included reusable basket. The automatic drip mode fills the carafe in a couple of minutes. Where we think this maker really shines are the options available for: setting carafe temp (L,M,H), the keep warm time (2 or 4 hrs.), the hot water temp (175, 185, 195 degrees), tone sound (on or off) and the clean cycle. The milk frother does a decent job but I prefer my espresso machine steam wand over the frother. There is a learning curve with all the options. We kept the well written instruction and quick start guides next to the machine for several days till we learned all the cycles and options. We like this maker most for use with company. It lets us brew up single servings or a carafe pot more quickly than making the same amount of espresso. The only issue we have had is that sometimes if trying to make a small amount of coffee in the carafe ( less than 4 cups), it won’t recognize the small amount of grounds. The appearance/look of the machine is fine, nothing special. Overall, we consider this to be a solid coffee maker from a reputable company. We find the Cuisinart products to be both reliable and durable for long term use. We think the price is on par with other multibrew coffee makers from big name brands. Highly recommended!
I really like how many useful features this coffee maker combines into one machine. The two that have been the most useful for me are the iced coffee setting and the hot water on demand. It’s fairly easy to use and pretty self explanatory. There is something very cozy about waking up and smelling a cup of coffee.
The iced setting adjusts the brew so the coffee holds up better over ice instead of immediately tasting watered down. I drink white coffee and this has done a surprisingly good job with white coffee grounds for a standard drip machine. Being able to make an iced White Angel at home with it has been a huge win for me especially in Florida where coffee shops don’t have white coffee.
The hot water dispenser has also ended up being far more useful than I expected. I drink a lot of tea, but I’ve also used it for instant noodles and other quick kitchen tasks where I just need hot water without pulling out another appliance.
For days when we don’t need a full pot, the single serve side is much more practical. It works with K Cups and also includes a reusable K Cup so I can use my own grounds. It is not compatible with Nespresso style capsules, which is worth knowing before buying.
When we do have people over, I can still brew a full carafe instead of making individual cups one at a time. For everything it does, it also doesn’t take up an unreasonable amount of counter space. It is larger than the basic coffee maker I replaced, but it also replaces several functions at once.
Overall, this has been a big upgrade for my coffee bar. It gives me full pots, single serve coffee, iced coffee and hot water in one machine, and the quality feels noticeably better than the inexpensive coffee maker I was using before.
True confessions: we have long been a fan of the Cuisinart 2-in-on coffee maker and have cycled through probably three of them over the past several years. Our current coffee maker was nearing the end, so we decided to try out this 3-in-1 coffee maker as a replacement. I am very glad we did! Like our old model, this one brews 12 cups through the drip method and is programmable, so we can wake up to fresh coffee. Mmmmm–nothing like the aroma of coffee drifting through the house to greet you and start your morning off on the right foot! The carafe is identical to our old one, and the coffee quality is spot on. Also like our old one, we can quickly brew a cup with a Keurig-style pod, and it works great, too. Plus we can quickly get a cup of hot water, very convenient for a cup of tea or some hot water for cooking. The third component we are less likely to use, but it allows you to use the enclosed filter to essentially brew your own pod-style coffee. Because it holds more grounds, you can brew a larger quantity (say, for a coffee thermos) than a standard pod will give you. A nice to have but not have to have for us.
What I like about this coffee maker compared to our old one is that it takes up less horizontal counter space. it is longer, thinner, and dare I say, sleeker in design. Because the functionality is a little different and arguably less intuitive compared to our old model, it is going to take some getting used to. But that’s pretty much the case with any new appliance anymore.
This coffee maker isn’t cheap, but in this case, you get what you pay for. If the functions of this 3-in-one are appealing to you, this is a good choice. Take it from someone who has been using Cuisinart coffee makers for years and years.
Versatile coffee maker with plenty of brewing options
I have been very impressed with this Cuisinart coffee center. It is not an espresso machine, but it offers a lot of flexibility for brewing regular coffee. You can brew either a full carafe or a single serving, use your own ground coffee or K-Cups, choose the brew strength, make iced coffee, dispense hot water, and on top of all of that froth milk. I compared the single-serve brewing with my Keurig using the same K-Cup, and this machine produced a noticeably stronger cup of coffee. I like that I can manually choose both the brew strength and cup size instead of relying on automatic settings.
One feature that’s super useful is the adjustable water reservoir. It can be positioned on the side or at the back of the machine. I have limited counter depth, so keeping it on the side worked much better for my setup. The reservoir also holds a generous amount of water, meaning it doesn’t need constant refilling. It also comes with a water filter. The hot water function is another thing I appreciate since it is convenient for making tea or any other hot beverage, or if you just need hot water for whatever reason.
Having attached milk frother that is easily removable for cleaning is yet another great feature. It doesn’t heat the milk, but it did a very good job frothing my cold lactose-free milk, which isn’t always the easiest to froth.
Setup was very easy. Even though the machine is on the larger side, it is surprisingly lightweight and was essentially plug-and-play. The machine also includes a coffee scoop and has a built-in clock, which is a nice touch in the kitchen.
The controls are straightforward, using physical buttons and a selector dial rather than a touchscreen, which I actually don’t mind since there are fewer electronic parts that could fail. My only small complaint is that the white text on the silver front panel can be difficult to read depending on the lighting.
I haven’t used the full carafe brewing function yet, so I can’t comment on that part, but my experience with the single-serve side has been excelle
This coffee maker is really clever and has quite a few features that I didn’t realize at first. You can make the kcups or coffee in the carafe as well as hot water. The knob on the side is how you select the mode for the carafe or the single serving k-cup as well as for just hot water. It dispenses on the side and the little drip tray is actually stored on the bottom of the side inside the machine. You press it for it to come out. On the other side it has a coffee scoop, frother, and the insert for the coffee filter for the carafe all hidden in the machine. You press each one and it pops out. The water tank on the back can also be oriented on the back or the side and it slides from position to position which is super convenient. I thought I could do it on the back but then it was too long to reach back to refill so I put it on the side. The frother is just like those metal ones you can get individually but attached to the machine. I like it though for storage and it is easy to clean by just running it in a cup of soapy water and then plain water real fast after making coffee.
It is so convenient having the single serve pod option or the carafe. Some mornings I make coffee for just myself and other mornings I make it for my wife and I. The front controls are easy to read but take a little bit to get used to as far as the modes go. It has an auto on function as well which I really liked for setting it up to make coffee in the mornings. It also has the strength control so you can brew a stronger cup if you would like. The water reservoir also has a charcoal filter which was a nice touch.
The whole thing is really thought out and pretty compact for an all in one unit, especially containing the frother attached. Everything works great and they have a 3 year warranty as well. It is up to you if the value is there but for us it definitely has proven itself.
