Despite smaller size I can load the feeder with four different types of food. Two suet cakes and two bins on with a plastic window and the other has mesh screening. Appreciate the versatility. Would recommend.
This is my favorite songbird feeder! Many types of birds are attracted to it. Chickadees, sparrows, finches, towhees, juncos, tanagers, grosbeaks, mourning doves and northern flickers have all paid a visit to our feeder area. It’s close to our hummingbird feeder yet territoriality isn’t an issue. The chipmunks have taken up residence close by in our rocks – they keep the ground pretty clean along with the ground birds. It’s attractive and small enough that the larger, more aggressive and opportunistic Steller’s Jays can’t easily feed from it and/or terrorize the other smaller birds. The ‘house’ design takes just seconds to fill without making a mess (I use Audubon Songbird Feed and Audubon Society Hi-Energy Suet). It’s made of high quality durable materials and I really like that the seeds stay relatively dry when it rains. It’s easy to clean. If you’re a songbird lover this feeder is a good investment and you’ll enjoy watching the feeding activity!
My birds are happy, but the squirrels aren’t too much. You do have to be mindful that the seed will get wet.If it rains, but i’ve been taking mine down when the weather is inclement. It’s nice that it can also hold two suet blocks so my woodpecker enjoys it, too!
