Versatile pack for carrying gear that you want right at hand quickly, like binoculars, cameras, etc.
This is a great carrying case for your binoculars, keeping them at the perfect position, ready for viewing.
I found that this pack also fits my robot’s remote control, which is also very handy. When wearing this pack, a small “action” camera may be easily attached to a shoulder strap* and a few extra pockets make this a very versatile pack. There are pockets on either side that will hold a cell phone, if it is a smaller size, a mesh pocket on the back, between the pouch and the wearer’s body. A larger front pocket actually holds my smaller set of binoculars while my “good” *and larger) binoculars sit comfortably in the main pocket.
I would also like this in black or green/brown, since I don’t usually wear camouflage.
Excellent but not perfec
I was looking for a camera bag which would allow me to run with it by holding it close against my body. The dimensions of this one where exactly right, even with my relatively long 6″ lens (plus the 1.25″ camera body). As it turns out, just because the measurements at the rear are ideal, with my camera in there, it doesn’t allow the cover to drop all the way down and secure. It would work great with a shorter lens. But I won’t complain about its imperfection for a use other than the intended one for binoculars. In fact, I think I will sew on a little plastic clip to hold it in place with the camera, because almost everything else is so ideal.
It really is quite comfortable to wear, and doesn’t bounce around when I run, even with my camera in it. And it’s extremely easy to adjust, with the adjustment points to the straps right up against the bag. To put it on and take it off, just unclip one of the bottom clips, then put it on over your head and put your arm through the other side. Then fasten that last clip.
Materials and workmanship seem very good. Strong and quite good looking. There are four other zippered pockets, though none of them are quite large enough to fit my phone, except for the mesh pocket on the back, with an inch of the phone sticking out the top, so not very secure, and my pixel 8 is a tiny bit smaller than the average phone these days. That’s unfortunate, or poor planning.
The two other imperfections are that the binoculars pocket doesn’t have any fabric with a drawstring which would protect your binoculars better from dust or moisture, though it does have a velcro strap which you can run over the binoculars between the eye pieces to hold them in place. Maybe I’ll also sew on a drawstring cover, as that would bring this bag within a breath of perfection.
And then there’s the hook latch which closes the cover over the binoculars. I guess it stays on surprisingly well, because the edge of the lid sort of hits the lower hook which prevents it from dropping down too easily and coming unhooked, but that also makes it the tiniest bit awkward to open. Not a big deal, but not perfect.
The little brand patch on the front looks pretty nice, with its gold thread, but I really like that it’s just velcroed on, so you can remove it or put something else there if you prefer.
The straps which wrap around behind you are plenty long. If you are a larger person, have no fear, they will fit. If you’re a smaller person, you may want to snip off the ends, so you don’t have so much extra unnecessary strap behind you. There are some convenient little elastic loops around them which prevent them from dangling all over the place.
And the final little downside is that if you’re not wearing it, you can grab the straps and carry it by those, which I guess is okay, but it seems like it ought to have a tiny handle as well, so you could remove the straps entirely and still carry it conveniently.
In summary, this is a pretty great little bag, with great materials and workmanship, but I would have designed it slightly differently to make it perfect.
Well made bag with plenty of extra storage and conveniences.
Pretty happy with this bingo-bag as I’ll call it. It’s sized perfectly for my set of binoculars without being overly cumbersome. The fabric choice and stitching meets my needs perfectly well and are exactly what I would expect for a bag of this caliber. I like that they’ve provided plenty of extra storage pockets in case you want to unload your pockets of your phone, wallet, keys, etc. I always find it a pain to try and be mobile but have my pockets full of stuff. There is plenty of adjustability in the straps and I’m sure if you wanted to swap it over to a shoulder style bag instead of a chest pack, that could be facilitated in a clever way.
I have no issues recommending this bag and it should fair great for our hot air balloon festival coming up!
Good Backcountry Hunting Harness for Binos and Rangefinde
This review is for the DINGSHIWEI Binocular Chest Pack in Tactical Camouflage. DINGSHIWEI is a newer optics brand with binoculars and laser rangefinders among its products, so a chest harness makes sense alongside the rest of their hunting gear.
The pack has a good hunting layout. My binoculars fit in the main compartment, with the rangefinder and smaller gear going into the surrounding pockets. I especially like having those items separated instead of piling everything together. The main compartment is fairly compact, so the listed dimensions are worth paying attention to with larger binoculars.
The wide mesh harness is comfortable and adjusts over hunting clothes easily. It holds the pack where I want it on my chest, and the binocular compartment is quick to reach when I need the glass. The dark camo is also a good pattern for hunting. Between the harness, storage and compact size, DINGSHIWEI put together a useful bino pack for carrying optics in the field.
Comfortable and Convenient Way to Carry Binoculars
This binocular holder does a great job of keeping my binoculars secure while still allowing me to quickly reach them whenever I need them. It is much more comfortable than having the full weight of the binoculars hanging from a traditional neck strap, especially when wearing them for a longer period of time. The holder keeps the binoculars conveniently positioned against my chest when they are not being used, so they do not swing around, bounce against me, or get in the way while I am walking. The binoculars feel secure, but they are still easy to lift into position when I want to use them. Overall, this is a comfortable and practical accessory for carrying binoculars. It would be especially useful for hiking, bird-watching, sightseeing, sporting events, or anywhere else you may want to keep your binoculars close and ready to use.
Binocular Chest Pack Camo Hunting Harness.
This chest-mounted carrier features a protective, water-resistant main compartment designed to keep binoculars secure and accessible during hunting or birding excursions. The harness includes an integrated side pouch for a rangefinder and additional storage pockets for small gear like lens cloths or calls. The breathable X-back strap configuration distributes weight across the shoulders to prevent neck strain during long days in the field. While the modular design offers convenient hands-free transport, the size of the main compartment may be restrictive for oversized or high-magnification binoculars.
