Worth the money
This is exactly what I needed for my hobby room. It’s a plug-and-play device, so setup was quick and hassle-free. I have hours of instructional videos that wouldn’t fit on any other format to play on my TV—except on an external hard drive. This unit handles a 1TB USB flash drive with no problem. After transferring all my video files to the drive, I simply plugged it in and was able to select and play files with ease.
Good player for the price
I also really like how compact the player is—it’s small enough to mount with double-sided tape and can easily be hidden. It’s simple to use and includes both a micro SD card slot and a USB port. I tested it with a 4TB external hard drive, and it worked without any issues.
One thing I did notice is that it takes a little longer to load up once powered on, and scrolling through files can be a bit slow at times. Occasionally, it freezes for a second when moving between files. The remote also needs to be fairly close to the player to work consistently—I even tried fresh batteries, but it still required a close range to respond.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the player only plays content from within a folder. So if you have different seasons stored in separate folders, you’ll have to go back, open the next folder, and start playing from there manually. My advice: create one main folder with all seasons labeled in the correct order. That way, you can binge-watch continuously without interruption.
Aside from that, the player performs flawlessly. It plays every file format I’ve thrown at it without freezing or lagging. It includes shuffle and repeat options, and you can also set it to play straight through and stop. Overall, it’s very user-friendly and automatically detects files with no extra setup needed. Definitely a solid device for the price!
LIKES=This machine actually works. All the other gadgets that I ordered before, to watch my Tik Tok videos that I saved on a thumb drive never worked. No apps to download to make it work. It’s a “Plug & Play” machine. So simple & easy to use. DISLIKE=It doesn’t have a “Thumbnail” capability. It only shows a yellow folder that you need to open in order to see the video/file content. But still okay with me.
