    Excellent Quality!
I’m really impressed with the quality of these worm composters. They’re super durable and made from thick, sturdy material that feels like it will hold up well underground and through changing weather conditions. Nothing about them feels flimsy or disposable.

The size is great for placing directly into garden beds, and I like that the lid feels secure while still allowing the system to do its job. Having two also makes it easy to spread food scraps between different areas of the garden instead of relying on one composting spot.

These are simple, well-designed, and excellent quality. I’m looking forward to putting the worms to work and letting them handle some of the garden chores for me.

Easy garden composting buckets that encourage a healthier, livelier garde
These composting buckets have been very easy to use since we simply placed them into holes in our garden and let them do their job. The size provides plenty of room for composting without taking over a smaller garden, and after using them, we noticed more worms around the areas where we installed them. And no off putting smell at all. They feel durable and well made, and the included gloves and small hand rake are useful extras that make getting started even easier. Overall, they are a simple way to add composting to the garden while putting organic waste to work, and the complete kit offers good value for the price.

I hope that someone finds this helpful.

A Simple Way to Feed Garden Beds Without Tending a Full Compost Pile
This is a two piece bury and swap system built for garden beds. I put one in each of two spots, so I’d always have one working while the other filled.

My wife and I have kept several forms of composting going for years and still will. We have two compost piles and one rotating drum. They’re mostly filled with trimmings from vegetable plants in the garden, along with veggie scraps from cooking. This set provides a different approach that is smaller and more targeted. You bury one of these near the plants that need it and let the worms work the scraps right where the roots can use them.

I dug a hole for each one near two different garden beds rather than keeping a spare bin in the house and it’s the best way for us. The listing suggests you keep the second bin around the house collecting kitchen scraps until it’s time to bury it, but it’s not ready made for that method. These are covered in ventilation holes top to bottom, which is exactly what you want once they’re underground and worms are moving through the soil around them. Sitting on a counter or in a mudroom, those same holes would let odor out and let anything wet drip through onto whatever is underneath. Bury both from the start and you avoid the problem entirely.

The twist lock lid has held tight against a groundhog that tries to get into our compost. The wide opening makes it easy to drop scraps in without digging around blind or lifting the whole basket free. The plastic feels sturdy enough for something sitting in the ground through a season of watering and weather changes, though I wouldn’t risk stepping on it.

Filling them has been easy. No turning, no mixing, just add scraps and let the worms and the soil handle the rest. I started my first with shredded plain paper, dirt, coffee grounds, and some crumbled leaves. Having two lets me keep one filling near my squash plants while the other sits closer to the chard and onions. Both spots get fed without hauling scraps across the yard.

A quick tip: We found live red wigglers cheapest at a sporting goods counter selling fishing bait.

I knocked off one star for the listing claim that one can be filled in home. Though there are composting bags that could make that work, the listing doesn’t say so or address the potential extra cost. Also, while the bins feel fairly sturdy, I’m skeptical about long-term durability.

Value Rating: Still Worth Having. Simple to bury and does exactly what it claims once it’s in the ground where it belongs.

Bottom Line: Bury these where you actually want the compost to end up, one near each bed if you can, and they’ll do their job all season. ~ Thomas Tried and True

    A Fun Twist on Composting
I’ve been composting for a while and already have two traditional compost bins, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try an in-ground worm composter. I have to say this has been such a fun addition to my garden!

Installation was quick and easy, and I love how simple it is to add kitchen scraps right where they’ll eventually benefit the soil. It’s a clever concept that keeps everything contained while allowing the worms to do what they do best.

It’s still early, so I can’t speak to long-term results yet, but I’m really excited to see how it performs over time. Anyone who gardens knows that compost is basically “garden gold,” and anything that helps create healthy, nutrient-rich soil for my vegetables is a win in my book.

If you’re looking for an easy, beginner-friendly way to compost or just want to try something different from a traditional compost bin, this is definitely worth checking out. I’m looking forward to seeing the payoff in next season’s garden!

Golden Review Award: 1 From Our UsersClever coposting idea, well made and affordable
These inground worm composters are a clever alternative to the barrel composters or composters that need to be turned occasionally. Just put in your scraps and let the worms do the work! We are nearing the end of our gardening season and have plans for a raised bed next season. I am hoping to install these in our raised bed and throw in some worms. They are pretty straightforward, bury them and feed them scraps, add some worms and let the worms do the work. They are priced reasonably. The plastic seems to be pretty good quality and they have a nice sturdy feel. The lids lock on tight. We are a raccoon friendly farm, so I am hoping they lock well enough to keep my furry foragers out of them. I am excited to finally get them in my garden bed and working.
