Makes getting back into my RAV4 much more comfortable
I spend a lot of time driving my 2026 Toyota RAV4, so keeping the interior comfortable has become part of my daily routine. I decided to try this windshield sun shade because I was tired of getting into a hot vehicle after work or while running errands. It fit the windshield very well without leaving awkward gaps around the edges. Setting it up quickly became second nature, and I can put it in place before walking away from the vehicle without any hassle. I also appreciate that it folds away neatly when I am ready to drive again. After using it for several days, I noticed the cabin felt noticeably cooler when I opened the door. I’ll be honest — I hesitated to buy this sunshade because of the price. It’s definitely more than those cheap accordion-style ones. But boy, am I glad I went for it.
We just got a new Honda CR-V, and I wanted a sunshade that actually covers the entire windshield — not just 80% of it with gaps on the sides. This one does not disappoint. It fits perfectly from edge to edge.
Now, I will say: compared to my old small sunshade, this one is a little trickier to fold up. It takes a couple of tries to get the hang of it. But once you do, it’s fine. And the trade-off is totally worth it because the coverage is amazing.
My old shade was always a pain to keep in place — it would slip down unless I snapped it into the visors just right. This one? It stays put with no fuss. You just tuck it behind the visors and you’re done. The little cutout for the rearview mirror is a really nice touch too — helps it hug the glass and keeps everything secure. TLDR: Blocks out nearly 100% of the sun thanks to extra edge flaps. Amazon warned it might be too large, but throwing your sun visors down locks it perfectly flush. It includes a storage bag, but folding it completely away daily is too tedious in the summer—just toss it in the backseat between short trips.
Unlike thin, cheap wire shades, this material is thick, sturdy, and completely opaque. It features extra fabric flaps around the edges that fill in the corners near the dash, blocking out 99.99% of the sun. The Velcro wraps securely around the rearview mirror, and it’s dual-sided to reflect summer heat or trap winter warmth.
It does come with a storage pouch, but because the shade is so large and high-quality, folding it into that tiny bag every single time you leave the car is an annoyance. During the summer, it’s way easier to just fold it in half and toss it in the backseat or trunk. That said, if you’re parked in the baking sun for more than 15 minutes, it is 100% worth the quick effort to put up—it keeps the car considerably cooler. I only wish they offered versions with fun designs on the matte black side! Highly recommend.
