Great value - but youll need your own tools.
Straight swap of an Apple 512GB SSD with a 2TB model. Write and read speeds are impressive, and higher than the original model. A much more palatable price than the extortionate rates Apple charges for upgrades.

It takes some days to arrive, shipping from China, and it’s only the SSD that is included; though it’s well packaged within a neat, padded, plastic case. You will need your own tools to open the Mac mini and unscrew the various attachments (spudger, suction cup, T3, T5 and T8 screwdrivers etc.) but it’s a very straightforward replacement process. I had to run the restore process twice while it was in DFU mode, that was using the required central TB5 port (with the Thunderbolt logo directly above) on the back of the Mini, but apparently, that isn’t uncommon. Be patient and try again if it errors. There are a few guides on YouTube on the entire process.

Initial impressions are that I am very happy with my purchase. I’ve dropped a star simply because I’ve seen other kits (for the M4, not the M4 Pro models) that come with the tools needed to complete the process but this is a recommended purchase if you want to upgrade the storage in your M4 Pro Mac mini at more reasonable cost.

A necessary and easy to install upgrade to my Mac Mini M4 Pro.
This little addition to my Mac Mini Pro has silenced the constant nagging about running out of disk space. It represents good value for money and was easy to install using the provided instructions and tools, there are also plenty of videos on the internet showing how to change the SSD, without damaging other components. Ensure you order the correct version Mac Mini and Mac Mini Pro use different, incompatible, SSD’s. The new SSD seems a lot quicker than the old one, although I am unable to confirm this as I did not check the speed of the old SSD before removing it. It has so far worked as expected with no errors.
