I received this through Vine, and they have been a convenient upgrade. Each rod extends from 48 to 74 inches as a single piece, so there’s no need to connect segments. Installation is tool-free! Just twist to extend, position, and tighten. The rubber end caps grip well without damaging walls or tile.
The thicker tube feels sturdy and supports a standard shower curtain without sagging. The black finish looks clean and the surface is smooth for curtain rings. They also work well for other uses like window curtains or closet organization.
These tension rods are solid, easy to install, and practical for renters or anyone avoiding drilling. Highly recommend the 2-pack!
Another great tension rod! Some of these you can get wouldn’t hold up a washcloth, but we have gotten a few from amazon now, that have been heavy duty, easy to use and very versatile! We do not always use them for curtains. I have this one standing up, as you can see in the included picture. We have used a few of these in the greenhouse to tie up vegetable plants once they get tall. We used to have PCV pipe we would build a fence like around them and tied them up, but it just got in the way, and we come up with this idea. We picked up one in town that was cheap and flimsy and didn’t do the job, but we thought a better one might. And they do. These are stable and durable and does the job well. They are strong and hold up a curtain as well. They do so much more than advertised. My brother just lost his job and until he gets another, we are letting him stay in our basement and in order to fix him up some privacy we used some of these and put up light-weight blankets as walls for him. Gives him privacy and we can still go down to the basement for the things we need to get done. We have a metal one in the bathroom for the shower curtain. The tension in it is lousy. It lays on the shower wall, in order to hold up the shower curtain and it rusts. I am going to replace it with one of these as well. They look nicer, don’t rust and the tension in them is much tighter and works way better. Nice product. Would give more than 5*. We obviously like them, we have several.
Overall, this is a solid, well-made tension rod, but it didn’t end up working for my intended use because I didn’t pay close enough attention to the dimensions. I originally ordered it for my bathroom, only to realize it was too large for the space and not as adjustable as I expected.
I then tried repurposing it as a curtain rod for a closet where I had removed two bi-fold doors. Unfortunately, it ended up being just a few inches too short. I also thought I could use the included extension piece, but while it fit into the end piece, it didn’t connect to the main pole the way I expected, so it wasn’t helpful for my setup.
The rod itself feels sturdy and the tension mechanism seems well made. If your opening falls within the stated 48–94 inch range, I think it should work well. My experience was more about choosing the wrong size than a problem with the product itself.
My biggest recommendation is to measure carefully before ordering. This isn’t a universally adjustable rod, so make sure your space fits within its adjustment range. I’ll likely find another use for it, but it wasn’t the right fit for either of the projects I had in mind.
Finally, a Shower Rod That Doesn't Sag
Bottom Line: This one-piece telescoping shower rod was easy to install, feels much sturdier than my previous rod, and solved the sagging problem I had been dealing with.
My previous shower rod had become a real frustration. Although it was supposedly designed to fit my shower opening, once it was extended to the proper length it bowed where the two sections met. Over time it only got worse until I finally decided it was time to replace it.
Because of that experience, I was a little hesitant to try another adjustable rod, but I’m glad I did. The installation was straightforward, and the instructions clearly explained how the telescoping adjustment works. Within just a few minutes I had it installed and securely in place.
The difference was immediately noticeable. This rod fits perfectly without any sagging or swaying, and it has a much cleaner appearance than my old one. It feels solid and has stayed firmly in place.
This package includes two shower rods, making it an excellent value for the price. At $35.99 for the pair, I think it’s surprisingly affordable considering the quality.
While the listing mentions using these as curtain rods, I personally think they are much better suited for bathrooms. They perform that job extremely well, but I don’t think they have the appearance I’d want for decorative window curtains.

I requested these to help hang fabrics during the summer, to keep the sleeping area cooler while the floor A/C unit runs. These rods aided in creating a smaller square footage area so the unit doesn’t have to work as hard, and is more energy efficient. They came in and were prioritized with the heat waves lately in the region. Everything arrived wrapped and included all parts listed in the package (pic 1).
The product was accurate to the listing information and matched with what was received. These have black rubber stopper ends inside the telescoping portions, that do need to be removed before assembly, as listed in the instructions (pic 2). This 2 pack was perfect and is wide enough to span the area between the chimney and the slant walls on both sides. We installed the rubber stoppers underneath on the wall side, to keep this from falling (once we saw the tension ends didn’t flex or bend to the angle. An oversight on my part. Pic 3 is before the stopper supports). The other end fit flawlessly when wedges between the field stone on the other sides.
Being tension rods, I was used to using similar, and had no problems adjusting them or setting them up. They are a bit long for one person to handle, so if you can get help, that would be wise. These held up black out curtains without issue and do not move when sliding them open to pass through. I like these specifically enough, that I would return to get more from this brand. The price is worth the high carbon steel construction, ease of set up, and the clean look these have. Perfect for our purposes and well constructed as they were tidy and fast.
