    Great Solar Option for Fishing Shack & Small Off-Grid Use
    I picked up the VUEBEE 10W solar panel primarily for use in my fishing shack, where I plan to use it for LED lighting and charging phones or a radio while out on the ice.

    So far, everything feels well designed and easy to set up. The built-in 10,400mAh battery is a nice feature for backup power, and the adjustable 5V/12V output makes it versatile for different devices. It also comes with the necessary cables, which makes getting started simple.

    The 360 adjustable mount is especially useful for positioning the panel toward the sun, and the overall build quality feels solid. The IP66 waterproof rating is reassuring for outdoor use in varying weather conditions.

    In the off-season, we’ll be using the shack as a small hangout space for board games, cards, and painting. For that kind of low-power setup—mainly lighting and charging small devices—this panel seems like a great fit.

    As expected with a 10W panel, it’s intended for smaller power needs and will depend on sunlight, especially in winter conditions. We plan to pair it with a small battery or power station for more consistent use.

    We haven’t fully used it in all conditions yet and will update the review once we’ve had more time to test it in real-world use.

    Currently powering a meshtastic. No room in the back to have it inside this panel unlike others. Hard to track power level – I had this to charge another 4 18650 with the unit in another enclosure.

    Amazingly, this can power my solar trackers linear actuators (if I run them at 5v)
    TL;DR – Did you brick your unit trying to draw too much power? Read this review and maybe we can fix it.

    The first thing I thought when I got this was ‘wow great, I can set it to 12v which is exactly what my solar trackers linear actuators run on, perfect’, and I plugged it in as a power source and tried it out. Worked great, but rather slow, I thought, so I looked for the switch to change it to 12v since I figured it was running at 5v currently. I opened it up, changed it to 12v, closed it back up and repowered the solar tracker. It worked, and then I used one actuator for about 3 seconds and suddenly the device completely stopped working. No power at all.

    I get a meter and check the panel, no voltage output at all. So I figure there’s a watt limit and I just exceeded it, and there’s a micro fuse in there somewhere that just popped or something like that. First I tried letting it sit there open in the shade for 20 minutes hoping maybe a thermal reset would kick in and it would reset, but no luck. So I’m still looking inside for a fuse or a reset switch, and I decide I need to take it apart more to get at it, and in the process of taking the screws out, I also remove the batteries, which are button-top 18650’s in a holder.

    Now… little did I know at the time, but the act of removing the batteries actually fixed it right then.

    But I continued to try to take it apart more before deciding I didn’t want to mess up the seals, so I put the batteries back in, put it back together, and was going to think about what to do next, but after I put the batteries back in, I check voltage output and this time it’s working. Totally fixed. Everything’s back to normal, works great. So I switch it back to 5v, and go use it with my solar tracker a while as a test and it handles it fine, it’s just very slow, which is fine.

    My conclusion from this is that there is a soft-reset fuse inside, but in order to reset it, I had to completely power down the circuit, so I had to remove the batteries to do that. Then when you put the batteries back in, try to remember not to use so many watts next time. It seems like 10watt is the maximum output but I’m not really sure. If your circuit has the option to run on 5v or 12v, 5v can deliver roughly 2 amps, but 12v can’t quite deliver 1amp, so if those 10watts need to drive a motor like in my case, you’ll have better luck with that at the lower voltage setting.

    If you do end up trying to remove the batteries you need to be pretty careful with them, make sure you put them back in the way you found them, they have polarity marked in the holder and on the battery in very small print. The positive side of the batteries has a slight ridge around the edge, too. Do not put the batteries in backwards, very important. Also don’t let the batteries short out on your workbench with random bits of metal or they can spark, they’re pretty substantial batteries you have to handle carefully. I found it helped to remove the first battery with the corner of a credit card or ID card, then when it’s out the rest pop out easy, it’s the first one that’s tricky. Don’t use anything metal or sharp on them since that might short the circuit or puncture the battery, which you should never do.

    So, what’s my score for this product? Definitely 5 stars. This thing holds a ton of power, the solar cell keeps it topped up great even in less-than-ideal sunlight, and it has that great protection circuit built in so if you do pull too much power, it can be fixed.
