Product description

This product is Fabulous! I have purchased 4 in the last 2 years. The first one was when I hit a puppy I liked it so much I ordered another for the family room He loves it! So easy to travel with I sent one to my daughter she has it when friends come over with pets. I just ordered another for a cat a friend adopted. It creates a quiet peaceful place got your pet when they want it. It is made so well, sets up in 5 minutes. It is very durable.
I got a small, I wish I’d gotten a medium. If my cat were smaller this would be perfect because I could put a litter box in with them, but my cat is an adult.
I would NOT recommend using this in replacement for a cat carrier or sturdy crate. This would be for a cat who is calm and just needs to be contained/separated. A cat that is freaking out would most definitely cause damage to themselves and the product.
The product is relatively sturdy for the purposes of containing a *calm* cat. The screen is thick enough where I’m not worried about him ripping through it with ease( and it provides some privacy/shade but not much). I am worried about scratches to the bottom.
I feel like it’d be hard to clean properly if any fecal/urine got on it, especially the screen. It did come with a light chemical smell but it wasn’t terrible (to my human nose).
It was hell trying to get it back into the proper shape to fit in its case(took me 10min to figure it out and it didnt come with instructions, just used what was in the description), I accidentally snapped one of the supports in the bottom, it still works but that side is not as sturdy now…so definitely go slow and don’t put too much pressure.
So overall, it gets what I need done. I’m pairing it with a large and good quality cat backpack, and I can bring this along, put it in a nice quiet area at a friend’s house and not have to worry too much. East to carry and lightweight.
Okay there are a lot of things I like about this product. This is one of the more expensive pop up pens, but I’m really glad I didn’t skimp out and get one of the cheaper ones. I have read that those ones fall apart and the floor isn’t water proof. I didnt really even expect this to be water proof, as I put a litter box in there with my bunnies anyways, but while moving it a little I spilled the water bowl in there and the floor underneath was totally dry! So it’s pee pee proof which is awesome for any pet owner!
My next point is that this things is SO MUCH EASIER than a metal x pen! Not that this should be used as a permanent enclosure, but you know if you just wanna take your buns somewhere like the beach or your friends house this thing just folds right up and is light as air. Or if you wanna free roam your bunnies and keep their hay in an easy to clean space this would be the perfect little home base as you can just pick it up easily and dump out any extra hay outside without having to sweep up your floor as much, especially if you have carpet.
My final point is that this thing is by no means an eye sore like many animal enclosures tend to be. It just looks so nice and I’m proud to have it in my pet supply collection. The little pockets on the side are a nice touch. The zipper door held open by velcro is perfection. This thing is just really sturdy and feels actually appropriate for the somewhat destructive nature of some animals. If my rabbits hated it they could probably chew right through it, but they seem to really respect it as their little vacation home in the living room. Even when I open the door for them they don’t like to come out too much, as they are so cozy eating their hay in there. This is a wonderful product and I can’t express my love for it enough! It has helped me spend more time with my sweet little bun buns and made cleanup a bit easier. A must buy for rabbit owners! Definitely get the bigger one it’s worth the money!
We bought the playpen so we didn’t have to carry the crate/kennal to and from the bedroom to living room and back again. Or when we’re out in the yard.
The playpen is lightweight, well made, and super easy to set up.
Our puppy Rucker loves it.
It’s large enough for his bed, his toys and walking room. It’s his safe place when he wants to nap, hide, relax, take his toys in it or just be.
The side zipper door, has velcro straps so the doors can be rolled up for easy entering and existing. And yes, it keeps him contained when it’s zipped up.
The door and sides are made of a netting material which allows Rucker to look out and us to see him. There are 2 pockets on the outside for storage.
It has a removable top when we want to keep him contained in it. He’s growing boy and learned he can jump out.
It’s easy to wipe down to keep it clean. Or for cleaning up little puppy accidents.
Downside. It is not easy to fold if you want to transport it. One of the side panels is skewed now that I folded it up when we travel. But it doesn’t seem to change the Integraty of the playpen. We bought the playpen so we didn’t have to carry the crate/kennal to and from the bedroom to living room and back again. We bought this hoping our kitty would use it when she gave birth to her kittens, but she wouldn’t have anything to do with it. We love it though, we bought the medium size, & it’s bigger than I thought it would be. It has lots of room inside, for kitties & even a litter box. It would also be suitable for puppies or small dogs. We are feeding some feral kitties, & will be taking them in to be fixed, so we will use it for them as they recuperate from their surgery. The top is nice, because it easily unzips, making it easy to put your pet in or take them out. I also like that it has a screen all the way around it, so pets can see out. It’s just an overall nice playpen for kitties, puppies or small dogs. We’re very satisfied with it, & highly recommend it.
My dog loves it!
Sturdy, easy to set up. Folding down takes a minute to figure out but just keep in mind the floor need to be left OUT of the folding procedure. My dog loves sitting outside so I put him in this and just feel more secure. I put his little bed in there, his stuffed toys and a small bowl of water. I got the small pen but my dog is a yorkie. Comes with a roof. My dog doesn’t try to get out. He’s comfortable in there and feels secure. It doesn’t have any pockets on the side or anything but it’s ok. My dog and I are both enjoying it.
This pen completely surpassed our expectations!! We love to take our rabbit on trips and this pen is what allowed us to bring our rabbit everywhere with us. We’ve tried a dozen different pens from metal to plastic to wood and this is by far the best designed pen we’ve owned including other more expensive pens. Every other pen we’ve tried at this size has been more expensive and at least triple the weight or more.
We purchased the large size for vacations a few years ago and we loved it so much that we just purchased the small version for short trips to the park or beach. We love that it comes with a zippable cover (check the height for each, on even the large version our rabbit can jump out without the top attached at 24″ tall), but for the most part our bunny stays inside, even if the top is off.
The bottom of the pen is vinyl which makes clean up a breeze. Just wipe any messes with a paper towel and a little dab of soap and water. it’s so light that we can easily lift the pen and shake out any loose droppings or hay too! The large is also spacious enough to fit a large toilet box into as well with plenty of room for our bun to run around. There’s thoughtful touches like a hole and metal ring to attach a water bottle securely, pockets for storage, and even velcro to strap up the zippable door. The small size is really small and comes with a handy carrying case. it folds down to a bit larger than an XL laptop bag, and is about 1 inch thick.
We also read some of the bad reviews on this product, which are ridiculous. If you thought a cloth fabric pen could hold a 20+ lb dog, that’s your fault, not the manufacturers. The pen is super high quality, even better quality than the photos show, and the fabric is about as sturdy as fabric can get. Our rabbits do chew on things, but they haven’t eaten through or destroyed the pen even after a few years of use! I can’t see any reasonably small animal destroying it easily. Some others complained that its difficult to fold too. There’s definitely a learning curve, but watch the video and the trick is to form a “W” and then pull the bottom floor into a “V” and press it closed. Once you figure out how to fold it once or twice, it’s a piece of cake to fold after that. One big plus that isn’t really shown clearly here is that it folds into a small flat panel that’s super easy to carry or even put into luggage.
Kudos to the folks who made this. I wish more products were of this quality.
Good quality and holds it's shape
We have had this 6 months now. Great for a small dog like toy cavoodle size. Ventilates well and waterproof/wipeable. Dog had chewed some inner tags/cords, puppy stage. Once opened, hard to fold back in place, to a small rectangular shape, but it is foldable to a small manageable size. Over all quality is fantastic. This is our dog’s relaxing + sleeping spot. She loves it.
Great product!
Ordered this item for my 2 cats yo put them in when I’m painting as they tend to scrape at doors when they are closed in. I was worried as the only size was small.
Product arrived this morning and I’m really pleased. Not only is there plenty of room for them both but its also easy put up and packed flat and compared to a cheaper previous one its extremely sturdy. Would highly recommend. Would also be suitable for smaller dogs too.
Plenty of space for a full sized cat, large rabbit, medium sized dogs, and other domestic critters. I ordered this for a single male cat that was doing male cat things. We were in the process of getting him checked out, fixed, etc as he was an outdoor stray. Shady is only 10lbs. A larger dog could fit in this, but it doesn’t have the same clearance with the top zipped for some to be able sit fully upright.
So far as plenty of space on the floor, a
handful of small animals (small rabbits, hamsters, kittens, chicks, rats, mice, sugar glider, ferret, etc), a couple medium animals (cats, puppies or teacup sized, ducks, chickens, rabbits), and ONE medium to large dog could enjoy this size enclosure and still have space to add food, water, litter box, and other amenities with the animals.
Does have an eyelet on one of the panels for watering using a straw or feeding without opening the flap. Pockets for storing items.
I ordered large because I wanted this to function in place of a screened in front porch that we had at our previous rental that our cat really liked going out on as he transitioned into being 100% indoors from being 100% outdoors, yet barely a feral cat.
He was an intact male and had been starting to pitch fits to go out at the new place. He managed to get out one night and disappeared for a couple of days before popping up on the most cold disgustingly rainy night of the year with a cold, soaking wet, and traumatized
After that, I thought I would present him with a compromise that would help hold him over as we were going through the process of shots and fixing after no vet openings for over a year. This was it.
Easy to assemble. Literally pops up and into shape.*
*Had a bit of a time figuring out how to get the top flap on but once on it zipped up securely and was easy to uninstall / reinstall. I was looking at it like there was no way this will cover but my perspective was honestly off.
Good for (short term) Outdoor / Indoor use.*
* Great pen, coop, catio, or dog house. I wouldn’t vouch for long term out door use – the frame and construction is definitely not designed to withstand severe weather or harsh conditions for the long term but good enough for short term housing, separation, birthing, etc. If you ARE planning to use this for ‘semi-permanent’ housing – as in, more then just a day or three in fair to moderate weather -then you are better off purchasing / constructing a proper shed, shack, coop constructed of proper durable house materials. For the sake of your animal.
My cat legit LOVES this thing. I set him up in the backyard on the slab of concrete people call a patio after assembling it inside and setting it up with cat amenities after it arrived. It was still windy out so I thought to put a weight in one of the pockets just in case it lifted or Shady (my cat) didn’t try to bolt through it and take it with him into the woods behind the house.
He was hesitant at first and would constantly claw the panels. Once he figured out that one zipped open, he focused that panel. I thought he would have for sure destroyed it by now as he has a few pieces of furniture, but he hasn’t and it has been over a month.
Now we have it set up in the garage and he knows if we go out there we will open the garage so he can look out and bolts right into that thing. He will spend hours in there napping, watching, talking to the neighbors. When he wants out, he meows and we get him. It has seemed to mitigate the meowing to go out at night issue as well.
Easy to pack up, lightweight and retains its shaped if you use it! You could easily use this as a portable pen for the back of an SUV or van. Would definitely recommend bolting it down if you’re camping.
Definitely worth the money just to get a bit of peace and to see that cat respond to it. If you’re looking for a portable, waterproof, easy to assemble and clean pen or enclosure that will withstand gnawing and clawing, this is it. Plenty of space for a few small animals or medium sized animals. Cat loves it and have used as a transportation crate for long trips. Highly recommend for temporary housing or indoor segregation.
