Portable range hood not very portable but does good job of keeping smoke and food scent dow
At first, I thought I had been sent an incorrect item because the box said Air Purifier. I thought this would be good to use in our camper van when we are camping and bad weather causes us to have to cook inside the van. Of course, we tried it at home first. First and foremost, it is on the large side to be considered portable. When camping, it doesn’t matter what type, space is at a premium. We have a small home about 1100 square feet. Despite the kitchen being on one side of the house and the bedrooms and bathroom being on the other, the scent of food still gets to the bedrooms. Not to mention, depending on what we are cooking, smoke will also fill the kitchen, and we always have to open the window and open and lift the panes of both the carport and back door to keep the kitchen from becoming smoky and keep the cooking scent down. The range hood has multiple speeds. In terms of keeping the food scent down, I noticed it depends on the speed of the range hood in relation to the food being cooked and how the food is being cooked. When frying the machine needs to be on high. I noticed that it does a good job of keeping the smokiness down. My husband prepared pancakes last week and there is usually smoke but there was very little, and we kept the window down and both doors closed. Also, I fried sausage this morning and there was no smoke despite the sausage sticking to the skillet which would usually cause the kitchen to get smoky and again we kept the window down and both doors closed. There was a little bit of fried sausage smell but after I turned the range hood up high it went away. And whatever scent there was, was very light and did not linger like it normally does. All in all, it does good, but the portability is questionable and the price point is a little high as there are quite a few range hoods such as this that are priced better.
