Good tension rod
This is a decent tension rod. I appreciate all the baskets it has and how easy it is to assemble. It definitely saved space and looks like it blends in. I have no idea if the metal is waterproof, but the material doesn’t seem to hold onto water for long. My only problem is the height. It doesn’t actually fit my bathroom as I would need pipes that have shorter lengths. As is, it wasn’t able to be installed with the level of steadiness I would want if I’m putting heavy product filled bottles on it. I did end up repurposing the baskets to use in a different way with some adhesive brackets, so it still serves some function to me and I can use the tension rod now to hold up a curtain on a lonely window I have.
This is a spring loaded, adjustable shower caddy. It has two ends that have a silicone feet that spread out the pressure, and ensure the ends don’t slip. It comes with 3 large baskets, and 3 smaller baskets, a towel bar (that I will probably use for a hanging luffa), a soap holder with drain, and toothbrush holder with drain.
Initially, I thought it would not adjust enough with just the spring tensioner to fit my installation. However, I figured out that the spring tensioner piece also has an adjustable, sliding rod. You can adjust this almost 12 inches, to get just the perfect fit. When you put the tensioner and the next rod together, you can adjust the height, the turn the non-tensioner piece until tight. It has an internal ring that will tighten up and keep it at that hight permanently.
I don’t have many shelves on the caddy, as I currently only need soap and shampoo. However, additional baskets can be placed after the caddy is assembled and installed. Very easily too. There are silicone lined clamps that go around the bar, and the basket has 2 grooves that lock this clamp into place. You can add or move shelves in seconds.
The caddy bar holds well from the tub to the ceiling. It is constructed of powered coated metal. It will not rust. The baskets are powder coated too. The soap and toothbrush older are plastic, but decent thickness. They will last a long time.
I pulled on the shelves after installation to see how sturdy they are, and was surprised how much weight they could hold. I put over 10 pounds of pressure on the baskets (by hand) and they didn’t budge. The bar stayed positioned as well.
This is a well engineered and built shower caddy. It will last for many years. I will probably purchase a second one for my other shower. I would recommend this shower caddy.
Wonderful shower caddy after difficult install.
Let me first say that AFTER assembly I really do like this shower caddy. I love the color and how the shelves hold themselves against the pole. Each of the baskets are VERY handy with their versatility.
There were a few issues that I ran into during assembly that made implementing this a much harder job than it should have been. First, the bags that held the pole pieces were labeled with LETTERS while the instructions had NUMBERS. Yes I figured out what went to what but shouldn’t have to. Then, I couldn’t get it to work in my shower very well with the provided pieces. It was either too tall or too short, so I ended up having to cut one of the pole/pipe pieces a couple of times to get a better fit.
Now… after all of those installation hurdles and I got it secured in the shower corner… I am very happy to have it in place. The top and bottom bases are much wider with a better grip than the others that are skinny and flimsy, so it won’t be going anywhere! As shown in the pictures, it will hold quite variety of items without any issues. Solid 8/10, I still recommend it for an upgrade to your current caddy!
Excellent Storage solution!
My bathroom is oddly set up so that finding storage solutions is rather difficult. I needed something small but had to work around a heat/AC vent in a weird spot. I set the shower caddy up in the corner of the bathroom over by the sink. Because it isn’t enclosed it does not block the vent. It has 6 baskets, a towel rod, a soap holder and a toothbrush holder. I am surprised at how well this has worked for my situation. This has cleared up the clutter I had on my sink because I don’t have a place for a medicine cabinet or anything else like that. It is black and sturdy. The tension pole extends from the floor to ceiling easily and has rubber caps on both ends so it doesn’t slide. The instructions were not very helpful. It took some trial and error to put it together and to get it to stay. Once everything was together it is sturdy, fits well, and extremely useful. Good value for the money.
You’ll have to ignore my picture for a moment. A better spot for this would normally be in the back corner of a tub/shower combo, but I already have something there. My original plan was to use this in another bathroom we’re tearing out and redoing, but I set it up early so I could review it.
This thing has a lot of storage baskets, and you can adjust them in all kinds of ways. Installation is quick and easy. I have 8foot ceilings, and the pole easily extends to that height. Once I put it up, I started looking at it a little differently. It’s sturdier than I expected, and you can make it even more solid by adding the included plastic bushings over the pole joints.
And that’s when it hit me:

Looking for the thing I put in a “special place” so I wouldn’t forget and then forgetting where that place was.
I’m getting close to the big 70, so I’ll claim age as my excuse, but I know I’m not the only one. My most recent example: I bought a replacement remote for my Fire TV Stick because I lost the original. As soon as the new one arrived, I found the old one. I kept the spare “somewhere I’d never forget.” Fastforward, the original remote accidentally went through the wash with a sheet. Dead. It took me two days to find the “never forget” spot where I’d put the backup.
That’s happened more times than I care to admit. And as someone who tinkers with everything, I’ve got parts and pieces scattered in drawers and mystery locations all over the place.
But this thing?
It has wire baskets you can see through, it’s tall enough to run floortoceiling, and I happen to have a perfect spot behind the door to my home office. When the door is open, you barely see it, and the color even fits the room.
So instead of using it as a shower organizer, which it would do very well at, this is now my “ForgetMeNot Station.”
A place to put the things I actually want to remember, and I’m willing to bet it saves me a lot of time.
