I bought this as a gift for my mother for her birthday. It was relatively easy to set up (do the connectivity work inside before you hang the feeder outside). We had our first visitors the same day. We have connected three separate phones to the video feed so that my mom, my sister, and I can see the birds up close and personal. Having the system identify the types of birds is an added bonus.

This camera bird feeder is awesome!!! Very easy to set up use!! Takes really nice pictures/videos! I bought it for my mom for her birthday and she loves it! I have a couple videos I’ll post that she has sent me! You do have to watch it if squirrels or raccoons are around! It did hold up to them and now she takes it inside at night so they don’t tear it up!
This is awesome. The app is clunky but works if you have patience. The camera works great. I had no trouble setting it up and connecting it to my fiber internet. It’s a great value as it’s way less than other brands, offers free bird identification without a subscription, and it looks great. It’s easy to fill, the solar panel has been working well to keep the battery charged up. I’ll likely buy another one.
The squirrels do love it though. Still figuring that out. For now I am using hot bird seed .
Updated: if you have trouble with your solar charger .. I discovered I had the plug that goes into the feeder upside down! It will plug both ways so this is an easy thing to happen. So if it went dead and is not recharging try flipping the plug. Hope this helps someone
I bought this for a family member and I definitely got my money’s worth. They love the videos and photos they get throughout the day along with the sounds from the birds and squirrels. Always the squirrels hahaha. They put it on a post outside it’s been there for almost 6 months. Still looks brand new. So I’m assuming it’s durable. I think you have to be tech savy to install. It might not be as easy for elderly. So be prepared to help if gifting or asking for help if you aren’t good with phone apps. I’m shocked at the quality of this bird feeder. It’s under priced in my opinion. It’s definitely the perfect size. You can see more then 1 or 2 birds at a time.
IT IS EVERYTHING THEY SAID IT WOULD BE.. not hard to set up… althought did have granddaugher set up the camera, as i am not tech savvy… but would suggest charging up the camera first as it takes about 8 hours.. but after that.. it all went great.. LOVE it.. so review is.. came in a timely manner.. good quality material. and fairly easy to set up. the tech being the hardest. lol.. but if you are tech savvy, you got this
This birdhouse is really cool once you get it connected to your phone. You need 2.4 gigahertz network. I should’ve asked my husband instead. I called my carrier and they switched me from 5.0 to 2.4. This was not a good plan. All my cameras around the house and everything that was connected to 5.0 disconnected. My husband was not a happy camper. He said we already had 2.4. I should’ve just asked him so please check with your carrier to make sure that you have 2.4 before you purchased this item once you get it connected, it is really cool to see the birds that come to your feeder. The first day I had a squirrel that came and ate everything up turns out squirrels like bird seeds. Luckily Amazon had birdseed that is hot and spicy. Squirrels don’t like that but the birds love it so now I have pretty birds coming every day to my birdfeeder and I get alerted that there’s a bird at my birdfeeder. It’s really cool to watch. There is an additional charge if you want the app to tell you what type of bird it is. I haven’t done that yet, but I’m thinking about it I’m surprised at the price of this birdfeeder given its functionality. I placed it outside the window so I can watch the birds from the couch. It’s very rewarding. It’s super easy to fill. You just lift the hood or the roof and fill it up. I bought this again for Christmas presents for my family and they all love it.
Great addition to our feeders
Absolutely love this thing!! The kids Absolutely love going through the app and seeing the different of variety of birds landing on others feeders. They are also getting pretty good at identifying the ones in our yard as well. Very well made, great options for different mounting styles, clear images. Hands down thinking of ordering another for the canp!
I have ordered a few different brands of feeders with cameras and this has been my favorite. It has lasted longer and recordings a very clear. I absolutely enjoy watching the birds and even the squirrels on my feeder.
