Was simple to install the drips for the roots is great. Just wish they used larger tubing and interface. 1/6 and 1/8 are not the standard tubing for drip systems . I would buy again.
I purchased the RainPoint WiFi Solar Drip Irrigation System to keep my container garden watered while I travel. The concept is excellent, and once everything was working, it has been a great addition to my garden.
Unfortunately, my initial experience was frustrating because the included WiFi Mini Box Hub (HWG023WBRF) was defective. It would power on but would never enter pairing mode or connect to any Wi-Fi network. I spent hours troubleshooting. I tried multiple iPhones, different Wi-Fi networks (including T-Mobile Home Internet, another home’s Verizon network, and even an iPhone hotspot), reinstalled the app, followed every troubleshooting step, and even worked with ChatGPT to rule out every possible setup issue.
Contacting customer support took some patience. I was asked to provide my invoice, photos, and videos of the problem before a replacement could be approved. While I understand the need to verify warranty claims, I was concerned because I was leaving for vacation soon and needed my irrigation system working before I left.
To RainPoint’s credit, once they determined the hub was defective, they promptly shipped a replacement. The new hub connected without any issues, confirming that the original hub had indeed been faulty. Since installing the replacement, the system has performed exactly as advertised. The app works well, the solar-powered controller has been reliable, and it’s reassuring to know my plants are being watered automatically when I’m away.
Overall, this is a very good watering system with thoughtful features and convenient app control. My only reason for not giving it five stars is the defective hub and the lengthy troubleshooting process before receiving the replacement. If RainPoint can streamline warranty support for clearly defective products, this would easily be a five-star product.
If you receive a system that works out of the box, I think you’ll be very pleased. And if you happen to receive a defective hub like I did, know that RainPoint did ultimately stand behind their product and made it right.
The solar drip irrigation system is great the wifi hub provided with the system works but has issues the led lights on it are extremely bright not so good in a bedroom. The 2.4 hub has no information about it. I wonder if it is even needed.
It would be nice to know about the pump knowing the flow gal per minute to gustimate how much water is needed if I go on vacation for a week. The plants love it because I frequently forget to water them.
Set up 3 of the solar powered pumps on my roof garden. Connected them to 1 indoor hub, placed about 15 feet away behind a door. Was worried they wouldn’t pair that far from the hub, but they came online immediately. Super impressed with how easy it was, and first test worked perfectly. The app gives me peace of mind when traveling. Can check when watering events completed and if water reservoirs are low. Will have to see how they hold up over the next couple of weeks, but so far so great!
